The history of the dragons are hidden and concealed by the Scarlet council and for a good reason too; to prevent any kind of chaos or the worst Anarchy. The story began about a millennium ago or even more. The exact times remains of their emergence to be a mystery to all but the secret archives within the grand libraries of council. Theories say they were first spotted within the island city of Atlantis when the first dragon was conceived to the world, they served the masters of this legendary isle of yore until it was submerged beneath the sea for good. The reason behind the end of Atlantis was probably a cause of a natural catastrophe or the work of a Dragon's rebellion. Yet, the chroniclers of the council think it was just a matter some form of evolution, or perhaps for the sake of proper term, a reptilian mutation.
Regardless, due to the aggressive nature of the dragons and their love to horde wealth and power, they waged wars to enthrone themselves as kings and queens of earth. Some of them were successful in their cause, but since they were territorial to one another, they began to fight each other. The toll was high, and countless thousands died because of their selfish nature. That's when the scarlet council -or what existed by then of the same degree of import- decided to intervene.
To digress, the council figured a way to entrap one of the dragon queens while acquiring her body in a state of stasis; through such they began to conduct their studies on how to better themselves over their adversary. Thus, the ritual of the oath, and it could work on shifters only and such will be discussed later on within the reproduction section.
Then the dragon slayers came to be, countless of them died until the goal was achieved by slaying the last dragon. From ever since, the Dragon Slayers were codenamed Dragon knights instead, and they served the Magi until the dragon knights perished from the face of existence.
Centuries later however, the scarlet council began to create the Dragons again to fight against all those who oppose them.
The Dragons knights look the same like any other human, however they have a very distinctive scent like that of mint or musk. Any other species of which have smelling capabilities will be able to tell about them if they know about their existence to begin with. Being a Dragon stops the body from aging, and they will always look like when they were turned.
They also have high body temperature that is on par with the werewolves under normal circumstances. Otherwise, if enraged their temperature would begin to increase to abnormal levels, something to be discussed later for sure. Any Dragon Knight undergoes four phases of development and they are the following:
The first stage and the most sensitive one indeed, since not many survive it; for within such phase, the Dragon is most weakened and happens to be more frail and fragile than a human. Fever doesn't seem to depart and they tend to dream about the dragons of old; whether in day or night. If they survive the hallucinations offered to me without succumbing into the act of suicide, it would be quiet the feet.
Usually, within this period, they try to find solace by being nearby a close relative or an older dragon for the sake of guidance or even reassurance.
The second stage; it is when the Dragon knight begins to understand his instincts more. In this phase, they will begin to develop their five senses, and the hallucinations inflicted them in the previous stage subsides only to night dreams. The world is quite vivid for them if not strange due to their growing sensations. They began to retain their shifting abilities although not in a complete fashion; thus they can shift their eye pupils for them to become slit, irises are tinted with burning crimson or golden orange specially when aroused or enraged. They grow canine teeth of which are not retractable yet shorter than those of a lycanthrope.
Now, they are more sturdy than normal humans and have more fighting chance than before. Still, they are weaker than vampires and other kinds of lycanthropes. This is considered to be the learning phases which every Dragon begins to understand the extent of their capabilities. Think of it like a growing child starting to take his first step.
The third stage where the Dragon at last matures and begin to feel the tip of their strengths, by then, they will be able to half-shift; wings for them to fly, scales growing all over their body to give them resilience against physical attacks, fingernails grows into claws sharper than diamonds. However, their true strengths are diverged according to their gender and they way of their conception.
Within this phase, the Dragon start to manipulate one of the four elements -since they have Magi blood in them- but they still doesn't master the element in question through this stage. So if the dragon tries to manipulate fire, they will need flames nearby in order for them to manipulate.
The last phase is when the Dragon is capable of conjuring the element he aspired to master without the need of their presence. And now they can fully shape-shift into a dragon. At last, the Dragon reach their true potential.
Expect a dragon to be a dragon..
Dragon Drones: (At least twenty five years in service as Drones)
Newly made dragons; they receive tutelage from the Seers. After proper education, the Drones serve under the Knights, the Seekers, the seers as squires until their training is complete and are deemed worthy of promotion.
Dragon Seekers:
They are the spies of the orders and they act as well as emissaries. Usually deployed as Sentella agents to sniff whatever Humanity is up to, and they are the ones to contact other supernatural sects to send any messages employed by the council.
Dragon Seers:
The chroniclers of the order; historians and the ones who know best about the Dragon's lore. They also act as mentors for the new ranked Dragons and research about the Dragon's madness trying to find a cure. They are mostly dubbed as Knights of the mind.
Dragon Knights:
The whole body and the muscle of the Dragon order which serves under the Dragon Lords and eventually the Scarlet Council. They are the peace keepers and the ones getting deployed in times of crisis or when the council needs something to be enforced.
Dragon Lords:
They are the elite of the Elite, they serve the Scarlet council as bodyguards, and they command all the dragons beneath them into battle. Most of the Dragons remain as Seekers, Seers, or Knights. Those who become Lords are well chosen by the council for their Loyalty and explicit prowess. They must at least age 500 years.
---
Dragon Deacon: (Rogue) (Must be at least 250 years in age)
They are the feral ones who were capable to break free from the death switch -by falling into madness and submitting to the dragon queen- and their commitment towards the Scarlet council through the whispers echoed into them by the mother Dragon. Some of them have their own agenda to pursue, while others will try to free the queen dragon from her shackles.
Heat: The powers of the dragon amplifies with rage, although the power of the dragons can be manifested without the need of rage being shifters. However, when in combat, when the Dragon feels the heat of battle, when they get bashed by creatures far more stronger than them; their blood will 'boil' forcing them to adapt with the current circumstances for them to carry the battle to their adversary. If their enemy was a hybrid, then will get to a hybrid's level of prowess. If their foe was a vampire, then the dragon will grow in strength to be on par with the former. This is not an easy feat however and requires energy.
It is all about evolution...
The beast within: All Dragons are susceptible to the whims of their bestial side. The dragon mother queen always whispers to them and call out for her children to free her from the shackles. Thus the dragon visions; the dragons are not fully sane per say, there is some madness in them. Unless, they freed from their bonding towards their masters; the beast within shall reign.
Bonding: The Dragon must bond with an elder Magi to keep them safe from the whispers of the mother dragon. The Magi are the one who keep the dragon connected to the world of sanity; stronger the Magi, the better for the dragon. However, the scarlet council covered their basis by implanting a magical seal know as the “Death Switch” into the Dragon; if the latter chooses to revolt out insanity, then the former will remotely terminate them.
It is cruel, but it works most of the time..
Freedom: Some of the Dragons were capable of freeing themselves from the Death switch and their servitude for the Oath. But how they have done it? It is rather still unknown and under investigation by the Scarlet Council.
-Dragon Sight: Dragons are able to change their sight into heat vision, and through such they will be capable to tell a species from another.
-The element: They can master one of the four elements to conjure and use in their disposal (Fire, water, Air, or Earth)
-Flight: They can fly like any other shifter who uses bird as their shifting from.
-Bonding: The Dragon and his\her Magi master can communicate through telepathy.
-Freedom: If the Dragon was rogue, then will listen to whisper of the dragon queen, and the mother cares for her children; they have better instincts than the other normal Dragons.
Females: They depend mainly on speed and agility. But strangely, they are very capable of self healing and most importantly self regeneration.
Males: They depend on strength and stamina. They don't self regenerate like their female counterparts, but they have tough exo-skeleton which makes cutting through them a very hard ordeal.
-All Dragons are immortal, and they share their immortality with their masters from scarlet council members. If the scarlet council member die, than the dragon sharing his or her life.
-The rogue are bound are bound to the Dragon queen, thus they are immortal unless the scarlet council determines to terminate the queen in her stasis but that will kill all Dragons.
-Heat: It takes them a while to adapt with their adversary. After all they are still shifters. But once they get riled up, it will be bad for the other side.
-The beast within: Every dragon has a mad side to them, and they could be completely mad if freed from the bonding.
-They can only be killed by ripping their heart off. Decapitation will not work with females, if someone chooses to rejoin the head with the body. As for males, thrusting through their heart with Vampiric strength while point blank will do the job.
-The death switch: Their Magi masters may choose to kill the dragon with their descending bloodline, if the dragon decides to rebel or revolt. However, the best way to kill a dragon -while keeping their offspring alive- is by sending another Dragon after them to do the job.
There are two ways to conceive a dragon:
The ritual of the Oath: That's when the shifter -must be a shifter- swears unyielding fealty to one of the Scarlet council members, then drink from a phial of mixed blood of both the scarlet member and the dragon queen kept in stasis.
The Dragon will fall into a comatose; if they succeed to rise again from their slumber, then they will begin the first phase to be a full fledgling Dragon. Through the stages; the Dragon knight must bond with his\her master Magi to keep themselves sane.
Reproduction: And that happens only when two dragons mate with each other, otherwise the offspring will follow the same species of opposite parent. In case the male was a Vampire, then the offspring will be Vampire\Magi.
If both parents are dragons, then eventually the offspring will be a dragon. The fun fact about dragons that they reach puberty within few months of birth. The child gains his parents' experience and then begin to add to them.
If a Dragon dies and his\her body was consumed by their child, then part of their conscience will live on with the child.
-The Dragon knights value the hierarchy and unity against independence. They feel the most week when not around a relative, another dragon, or their Master Magi.
-They are sworn for the Scarlet council, but they act as sleeper cells as Sentella agents to keep the council informed with all activities concerning the government.
-The Dragon will always work the best when teamed up with another Dragon; the duo will be able to bring their true potential through such.
-Rogue Dragons only serve their own cause, or the dragon queen.
-The role-player has the freedom to begin their journey from any Dragon phase.
-All Dragons are capable of disguising themselves.
-And they love to eat meat.
