[attr="class","appcontent2"]Meredith Winters is the eldest child of a politician and his wife. A few years later she was joined by her little brother. Though the birth of her little brother brought joy to the family it also brought sadness. Shortly after his birth Merediths mother was pronounced dead. Meredith was too young at the time to fully understand but she did understand what her responsibilities were now to her little brother and to the day he died she kept that responsibility to heart.

Through out the years Merediths relationship with her father became strained as the family began struggling for money. In a desperate attempt to survive her father struck a deal with a wealthy client in exchange for his daughters hand in marriage to the stranger. At the time he was unaware of the man's true identity but Meredith knew straight away that the deal was far from a good one. She refused to go along with the marriage and within a few nights of the arrangement Meredith ran away. She was only 16 at the time and had no money, but she wouldn't make it far before news of her fathers execution for her desertion reached her, bringing her back home to an empty house she once called home.

She wouldn't see-what she later learned to be vampires-for many years. After her fathers death she was held responsible for her brother once again. When he reached his early twenties he fathered a child of which would later become Merediths entire world. Unaware of his daughters birth and of their fathers true killer Merediths younger brother foolishly joined the ranks of the family responsible for their fathers death out of spite and anger shortly after an altercation with his sister after learning he was the reason behind their mothers death. Left without any idea where her brother was she was left to care for the child as well as the mother until the mothers death a year later from illness.

When her niece was 5 Meredith received a surprise visit from her brother only to learn he had been turned into a vampire. It was then she learned the vampires true intentions for arranging the marriage and for turning her brother years later. The coven of vampires were known for turning Magi who had potential for powers useful to the coven. She never learned what her younger brothers ability was before she was forced to kill him. When he learned of his daughter he attempted to take her with him and threatened to keep Meredith from ever seeing her again if she didn't come with him too. Naturally she refused but her brother was just as stubborn as she was but unfortunately not as smart. That night she learned she was a witch and in that same night found her power; fire.

Once she learned of her heritage she was determined to hone her skills. For years she sought out various depositories, using anything and everything she could to become better. During this time she aligned herself with various covens and throughout the years built a name for herself. Shortly after her 90th birthday she was offered a position within the Scarlet Council. It wasn't long until she was promoted and finally reached the rank of Chancellor. Now she uses her rank in any means necessary as a means to obtain whatever she needs to ensure her goals of the vampire population becoming non-existent are successful.
