While Nykolae went off with the girl Andrei left entirely. He wasn't in Chicago just to see Kaia after all. A client of his wanted someone killed in the city, and though he would have usually passed this on to an underling of some sort, he took this one since it came with the added benefit of seeing Kaia. The job was a quick one, he compelled the woman to do the job herself, and walked out. It wasn't his favorite thing to do either. He preferred killing people himself rather than making them do it to themselves but his client insisted. It made him feel far worse to do it this way though.
When he was done with his job he relocated Nyk and ended up sitting a top a building while he waited for the hybrid to finish up. He made a mental note to maybe teach him about compulsion after Kaia extended the leash a bit while he drank blood from a flask. Then the door below opened and out came Nykolae. Without a sound Andrei dropped from the building top and landed a few feet away. He noted the girl inside had a heart beat and he was pleased about that. "Much better with compulsion, right? Now let's get you back before mummy dearest returns to find her guards out of commission and you missing. At least now you have the chance to defend yourself if she comes at you." he then reached into his pocket and pulled out a blood bag. It was fresh from the blood bank, taken just minutes before Andrei had swiped it on the way to find Nyk. "Stale blood sucks but that is at least new blood. So you have a decent snack for later." he explained before turning his back on him and walking out of the alley way.

"What, you want me to kiss and tell?" He asked, taking the blood bag with a laugh. But when Andrei mentioned taking him back, he didn't move, the blood bag hanging in his hand as he watched the vampire move off. He didn't know what to expect, now or later. In all honesty, Andrei had never actually shown him any signs of hating him. Yes, he had stabbed him but he had to be honest with himself, he had deserved it, but even then, he had remained calm and collected, even managing to find a spark of pity, which had landed him out here. He didn't want to start any ridiculous notions that he was making a friend because he knew that wasn't true but maybe, MAYBE, a future ally. Andrei seemed to understand his situation and yet, understood enough to not break him free. Fine. He could live with that. He clenched the bloodbag, the contents still warm. Maybe Kaia was right and all he needed was to control his attitude. All of this sortnof made him feel better but the prospect of still owing a favor to Andrei would eat at him forever.
He stuffed the blood bag into his pocket just as the girl left the utility closet. She didn't even notice him. Already, her compelling was gone and she continued down the street as if nothing had stopped her in between. Nykolae sighed and followed Andrei, the looming building of his prison becoming the only object on his horizon. Where he suspected Maia's office to be, the lights were still on and he frowned. What was he expecting? Her to just move to a new state and leave him trapped here? Once he was back inside the building, the bodies of the guards finally dawned on him and he stopped in the middle of the lobby, bending down to look at a particularly nasty broken neck. "Overkill much?" He asked him, raising an eyebrow.

Andrei walked back to the hotel in silence, expecting Nyk to follow so he didn't pay attention to whether or not he was. Meanwhile, the Russian's thoughts were reeling about why he had broken the kid out for even the short period of time. Apparently he had a penchant for freeing those trapped, especially when they were being used a blood bags. He had Alex to thank for that. Finding her in such a position made him think differently of doing it to others. He mentally cursed Kaia for keeping the boy locked up for her own personal use. His need to want to stab Nyk began to dissipate the longer he thought about it and that alone made him growl.
It wasn't really until Nykolae mentioned the bodies around them in he lobby that he snapped out of his reverie and looked around. He shrugged, not really caring since they would be alive soon anyway. "Consider it a parting gift for Kaia when they wake up and she has angry guards to deal with. I could have told them my name and they would have let me up, in fact the one in the elevator did before I snapped his too, but I realized that I do like annoying her and she does know this is my form of a calling card. It's a fun game for me." he waved it off casually before heading back into the elevator.

He stood up from his crouched position beside one of the vampire guards and frowned as he watched Andrei enter the elevator. His relationship with Andrei was... difficult. When he'd first met him, lounging in the doorway as though King of the Palace, Nykolae had hated him. He had a smug arrogance about him that just made him want to smart off. And then, he'd done physical harm to him but if it had been out of rage, he'd done an excellent job of masking his emotions. And then, like a roller coaster, he'd changed his tactics and had taken him out for the vampire version of drinks. The only way he could describe his relationship with Andrei was confusing. Why did he feel a sudden liking for the vampire? Probably because, above everything else, he hadn't tried to drink from him. He'd treated him like a normal person, in a sense, and with it, Nykolae had felt respect. Perhaps pissing off the vampire was not in his best interest. Keeping him on his good side seemed a much more logical answer. If he was so willing to take him out, no matter what Kaia thought, then perhaps, he would have more freedom in the future. Nevertheless...
He hesitated as the elevator doors opened. He was frozen on the spot. His body refused to go back up, to return to the penthouse he'd dubbed his prison and his mind was having a difficult time convincing him otherwise. No matter how many times he told himself that with the fresh human blood in his system and Andrei's bloodhound nose, he couldn't convince himself that the idea of running was a lost cause. He didn't want to imagine the physical pain Andrei would punish him with, let alone what Kaia would do. "You don't think Kaia has noticed yet, do you?" he asked, still refusing to move from his spot. He looked around at the dead guards, feeling a strange itch in his own neck. Would be die forever if Andrei decided to break his neck? He was immortal but did that stop him from dying for real? Did he really want to find out?

Andrei raised a brow at the frozen in spot hybrid, "She hasn't noticed. It she had noticed she would have come down here, seen the broken necks of her guards, and called me to her." he stated simply before he clapped a hand on to Nykolae's shoulder and forced him into the elevator. He pressed the button for the penthouse and stood there silently at first. His thoughts reeling once again. If Kaia found out about this and was angry Andrei would never hear the end of it. He sighed lightly, deciding it was worth it. No one should be held captive and used for feeding.
With a huff her reached into is back pocket and pulled out a black metal case which he opened with a quick push of a button. He pulled out his business card from within and handed it to Nyk while snapping the case shut loudly and putting it back where it belonged. The card read
"Andrei Belkov Messor Leader Cell: (xxx)-xxx-xxxx" It had other information but nothing but the phone number mattered. "Kaia isn't exactly kind and caring. She should let you off the leash soon but I also know her better than you do. If you are in trouble call me. Even if it's not Kaia related." he said, his voice trying to remain stern and uncaring despite his offer to help.

He didn't fight back when Andrei steered him towards the elevator and he watched the doors close, cutting off his freedom. He supposed he should be grateful Kaia hadn't found out yet. As much as he wanted to piss off the vampire, he was pretty sure he wouldn't be getting fresh human blood again to heal if she inflicted more wounds. And he had a feeling they would be far more painful. Not to mention, he hated the idea of getting Andrei in trouble. Oddly enough, he felt like he was beginning to like the vampire. He heard something snap closed and he looked over to see Andrei handing him something which he automatically took, peering down at what appeared to be a business card. Did Kaia even have a phone in her penthouse? He'd left his back at his apartment when he'd been dragged out. He had no personal belongings with him anymore, including his wallet. But instead of a smart ass remark, like he would have given Kaia, about not having a phone, he slid the card into his back pocket with an odd look. "Trouble? You mean, besides now? I'd hate to think what she plans on doing with me... After all, I haven't seen her since I'd been first brought here. Feel kind of like a trophy. Besides dumb and dumber, you are the only other person I've talked to since coming here."
He did, however, like the idea of being let off his metaphorical leash. All he would need to do was give Kaia a reason to trust him and he'd have his escape. There were thousands of places he could run to and all of them were outside the united states. If she wanted him back that bad, she'd have to work for it. But until then, he'd have to bide his time. And if Andrei could take him out every once in a while to feed him, his strength wouldn't diminish and he'd be able to go through with his plan.
The elevator doors opened to the penthouse and once again, Nykolae didn't move. He just glared at the open space that led into the apartment. Though it did make his disdain bearable when he saw dumb and dumber dead on the floor with broken necks. Served them right.

Andrei chuckled lightly, "Kid... You don't even know trouble yet." he said with the wave of his hand before the elevator doors open. Andrei let out a sigh, knowing what he had to do after he got the kid inside and not particularly enjoying that. He rubbed a hand over his forehead and let it slide back through his hair before he grabbed Nyk's shoulder. He steered then towards the door, nudging the bodies of the guards closer to the way as they went. With a quick flourish a keycard he unlocked it and in the same motion opened it wide, pushing Nykolae in before entering himself. He shut it behind them and walked in, exploring the apartment because he could.
He found the fridge and looked through it, unabashedly disgusted by the old bagged blood–he considered anything surpassing 6 hours at the very most to be old–within. He closed it and rolled his eyes. "I was hoping to avoid it but apparently I do have to go make a deal with the devil. And here I thought my trip too see her would be more pleasure than business. It seems I have grown to like you more than I realized. We'll blame you situation for that." he straightened out his leather jacket and headed for the door, I am going to talk to Kaia about the short leash you're on. See if I can do anything about it while I am here. I make no promises at success but I will at least try." then he realized something, he didn't actually know the name of the hybrid. There was too much snark going around earlier for it to be said. "But first... What is your name? Now you know mine thanks to the card I handed you so it's is only right. Especially when I am risking my neck for you."

Of course he was steered into the penthouse like a disobedient child. He guessed it was for the best, after all. He probably would have taken off if given the chance. The door closing behind them resounded in his ears like a prison cell and he gave a sigh. As Andrei moved off towards the kitchen, Nykolae wandered back into the living room, absently pulling the knife Andrei had thrown earlier, out of the stereo and twirled it between his fingers as he collapsed backwards onto the couch. Kaia was just lucky she didn't have any guns in the house. With his ability, he would have used it to be long gone by now. He hardly ever had a reason to use his ability, mostly because he wasn't the type to attack first and ask questions later. He tended to just avoid any or all situations to keep from needing a reason to fight.
Andrei reappeared out of the kitchen and he raised his eyebrows at him. Sure, the blood wasn't that bad but at least it was readily supplied. He thought about retorting that he didn't need him to fight his battles for him but he figured it would just cause more problems and allowed Andrei to feel the need to do something for his messed up cause. But he wouldn't give him a thank you. He stopped twirling the knife when he asked for his name and he paused. He'd never actually considered giving the vampire his name. After all, he hadn't thought they'd been on a first name basis but he supposed Andrei did give him his personal information. The least he could do was give him a name.
"Nykolae." he said, not bothering with giving his last name. Not like his human mother's name was a name that made history books. With his mother's death, the family line had died. His mother had been an only child and it wasn't like he knew his father's name.

Andrei nodded to himself, memorizing the name and then his scent in case he came across the scent again. ” Alright then Nykolae, I’m out of here before Kaia’s henchmen wake up.” he zipped up his leather jacket before taking the keycard out of his pocket. He turned back to Nykolae and sighed, “Look, kid. I am sorry about the position you are in with my sire and I will talk to her about this but I likely will be the last that you see of me no matter the outcome. I have a progeny, a sister, and a business back home so if Kaia doesn’t go for it I can’t do much for you. I might be able to bribe one of her guards into helping but I can’t even promise you that. For your sake, I hope she stops with this and for my sake I hope I don’t have to think about you anymore.” he said in his usual even and unfeeling voice.
He continued his walk back towards the door and opened it with the card before throwing it onto the body of one of the seemingly dead guards outside. “Farewell, kid. Good luck with your fate.” he said before he walked out of the door, shutting it behind him. He was leaving the building until tomorrow, he needed more time to decide what he was going to say to Kaia before he confronted her.
