There were beings in this world far older than he… Does that mean they were more powerful? Does that necessarily matter? In some situations, yes. In this situation? No.
Viktor had been asleep for quite some years, and by the time he had awoken, supernaturals were a more or less welcome part of everyday life. Some of the older ancients had even shown face. While he still remained relatively hidden, Viktor sought out alliances with certain individuals. As much as he would like to say this adventure was out of pleasure, it was truly done for business. That being said, it did not mean he could not enjoy himself.
What was fun about being as old as he was, was the fact that he could reminisce about the “good, old” days and actually mean the good, old days. He hoped his company today would feel the same.
He wandered the halls of a museum in downtown Las Vegas. Normally he avoided Vegas, but this was a special trip. He sought the attention of a powerful Were-being who was a curator at this museum. He did not know exactly what she looked like, but he knew it was a she, and he knew his nose would point him in the right direction. Despite being a “human,” he was far from one. He lost his humanity centuries ago, and evolved into something far more powerful and dangerous. His senses were on equal footing to any other supernatural being.
He could be a mighty ally or a very deadly foe…

History was her passion. Not just because she could be considered historical herself, but because it could be a reminder to people of the things they had accomplished and the things they still feared, though for Naomi it also was a reminder of all that was lost as well. Naomi's eyes pierced the glass case protecting a display model of the pyramids of Giza. She could remember when the life sized models were being built, another one of the many things Naomi was supposed to protect. Unlike the Pharaoh's and their descendants, the pyramids would need no guardian and, even to Naomi's surprise, withstood the test of time as its builders had hoped for. Though Naomi knew she would forever be a feline cursed to serve and protect she was never made aware of the limitations of her mortality until her youthful appearance remained as stagnant as the pyramids they worshiped, and in the end of each generation her beauty reminded her just how lonely being immortal could really be.
A couple walked up to the display case and commented on the detail of it. Naomi couldn’t help but smile. If they thought the replica was interesting they should see the real thing. No longer feeling the need to reminisce she continued her previous routine of patrolling the corridors every few hours. Not that it was required but Naomi found pleasure in watching the humans revel in the splendor that was Egyptian culture. During her stroll she walked by a particular group of people that gave her the strange feeling she was being watched. Now left feeling uneasy she deterred from her usual path through the entire museum and cut her break time short, making her way down the corridor dedicated to the Queen Cleopatra towards the staff area. It was here she bumped into someone, lost in her thoughts she quickly snapped back to rectify her error. ”I am terribly sorry.” She said to a man dressed rather elegantly for the setting he was in. ”I hope I didn’t ruin your suit.” She was genuinely sympathetic to her mistake and hoped he wasn’t too proud to accept her apology. The last thing she needed was an angry patron in the middle of a large crowd.

While searching for his target, the High Priest was learning something new about Queen Cleopatra. Even though he was alive during her reign, he had never personally met her. He never had the need to at the time. Yet now that she was long deceased and he was reading about her, he thought about his own history, and what might be written about him one day. There was certainly a lot that would not be known in the history books because he typically operated from the shadows, but it was still interesting to think about. His reading was interrupted, however, as a strong scent of ancient blood hit his nose. His target was close and his eyes widen as he scanned the passing crowds. What he was not prepared for was the fact that the woman he was looking for would bump into him.He was planted firmly to the ground, so he remained unmoved as she hit him; nevertheless, he could still sense the strength that the petite woman possessed inside. She apologized as he readjusted his suit – no major damage, thankfully. "No need to apologize. I was so caught up in reading that I was unaware of others around me. History can be quite enthralling after all," he said with a whole-hearted smile. His blue eyes shone with sincerity as he regarded the woman before him. While he had cast a spell over himself earlier to cover any sign of his supernatural origin, he could sense the woman was blaringly inhuman. Her smell was intoxicating. Her beauty was exotic. She was certainly an incredible wonder to behold. "You look like you know a thing or two about history. Might I be so bold as to ask your name?" Again, his smile was sweet and his bright blues were inviting as he waited on her. Naomi Beaumont

Naomi found it hard to suppress a laugh. "Well I would certainly hope so. If I didn't, then I'm sure the board would be in a lot of trouble in hiring me as their director." As it was customary in a professional setting, she extended her hand and offered it in the form of a handshake. "Naomi Beaumont, at your service." She said with a smile. Despite the pleasantries between them she couldn't shake off the feeling that things weren't as they appeared. He showed no signs of ill-intent nor did she feel any negative vibes from him, but the scent radiating off him made her near perfect senses second guess what her eyes were telling her. Naomi wasn't a common Were; she was an Original. By default her senses were heightened to a level that could only be matched by another Original, so when her nose picked up on an additional, sweet smelling aroma along with the common scent of a human, she couldn't help but feel a sense of worry and curiosity peek to newer heights. However she remained calm and kept a confident smile upon her face as if nothing was wrong.
It was safe to rule out vampirism or a type of were as there was no way to mask the scent of death or forestry without the use of strong magic. The scent of human was strong, that much was clear, but the sweet after taste left on her tongue from breathing in the air around him seemed as if it was trying to tell her something else. Usually her feline instincts could pick up on any danger present and so far it seemed to be doing its job but even with her uncertainty she didn't feel his presence was malevolent, but benign. If he was something more than just human and did have a purpose for being here other than the artifacts, there was only one way to find out. "Is there anything I can help you with?" Viktor

Viktor felt… strange when he regarded this woman. He felt… safe? He could sense no animosity within this Were-being, which was very odd. She was the first supernatural (aside from his siblings) that he felt he could drop his guard around. Whether this feeling of security was reality or not, only time would tell.
Deciding to drop his mask, Viktor let his protective illusion fade away so his “aura” was fully exposed and could be identified with ease. He felt no other significant presence in the museum, so he did not have to worry about interference in this meeting.
”There is actually something you could help me with, but let me introduce myself first… My name is Viktor Ealdor, and it is a pleasure to be in the company of such a rare beauty,” he spoke with a charming smile and genuine warmth as his blue eyes glimmered.
”Without going into too much details, lets just say I have been asleep for quite some time. While it may not be ancient history, I was hoping you could help me piece together the last couple of centuries that I have missed.”

A splash of pink could be seen on her freckled cheeks, a result of the compliment. Naomi wasn't a stranger to flattery, but she felt exceptionally shy around this man that made her look bashful like a child. She didn't know what it was about him that made such an impact, but one could only assume it could be his good looks and almost regal appearance - making the compliment that much sweeter. Giddiness aside, the name however didn't ring any bells nor has she heard of any mention of a Viktor. Despite her age and vast experience, Naomi didn't encounter a lot of species besides her own, humans, vampires, and the occasional werewolf. She made it a habit to remain unknown and to stay far away from Magi and the like. It may have not been a Magi to have granted Naomi her abilities but the same could not be said for some of her feline brethren and for that purpose alone she made sure to stay out of the affairs of man and magi - until now. The Resistance has grown in numbers and Magi have been flooding in by the dozens thanks to the Vampires, and if it wasn't for them Naomi wouldn't have an army of angry Magi waiting for her beck and call.
When he mentioned being asleep Naomi decided to not take him literally. Being 'asleep' in this modern world could mean several things; he was locked away from society and only just resurfaced or he simply has refused to accept the advancements in technology until now and needed help. How Naomi specifically could help was beyond her, but she wasn't in a position to refuse him either. Even as she tried to figure out exactly how she could help the man a particular word stuck out like a sore thumb and sent a chill down her spine, an uneasy feeling she couldn't shake.
"Centuries? You say?" She asked in confusion, and just then with the intake of breath came that sweet aroma she had noticed before, only this time it was stronger and more distinct, pleasant even. Without being a vampire who survived off human blood humans weren't as potent to her as this man was so there was only one other option; Magi. He didn't seem to be here to cause harm to her or the museum so there was no need to worry, yet.
"Why don't we continue this in a more private setting. Is my office okay? There I can fill you in on anything you need to know." She responded with a smile and a wave before leading him down a corridor off to the side, free of any other presence but their own.
