Garrett's Assassin OutfitSince coming to Las Vegas in search of his older brother Brock and the Black Mamba members Garrett had decided to set up shop in an old abandoned arcade building downtown. Back in the day he was sure the place was quite lively and popular with children and young adults like himself. Nowadays though video games had become so sophisticaed and realistic that few really enjoyed the classics of an arcade anymore and he couldn't say he really cared for them to begin with the newer stuff really was more his style now. It was easy to buy out the arcade building dirt cheap with his hacking skills and since he didn't really plan to reopen the place or renovate it anytime soon he decided to make it his base of operations while he sought out his older brother and the Black Mamba members after him. They were crafty ones as to be expected but they couldn't evade him forever he'd find them and then deal with them accordingly in the name of the White Fang order and his parent's memory. In the meantime he had taken it upon himself to join the Messor since it dealt mostly with his specialty assassinations and the pay was fairly good too. The jobs were fairly easy for one with his skills using spectral tracking there was no way he could ever lose his target even if the trail of his scent was days old. It was almost too easy sometimes but he liked a challenge really. In the basement of his arcade building he transformed it into his living quarters he had his little computer area set up to do his hacking among other things. He had his gaming systems set up to his TV since it was mostly all he did he didn't watch much TV or news really he was too focused on his own goals and vendettas right now so he had little interest in such things outside this life he lived now. He'd really hadn't bought security for the place he wasn't worried about any thefts really but he did have magic spells set up to warn him of intruders who entered the place and only a Magi like himself skilled enough could breach his inner sanctum down in the basement by breaking the spell on the secret door that led down to the basement behind one of the aracde machines upstairs. He lived off the grid though and kept off everyone's radars so he didn't really expect any guests to drop by today like usual not unless it was someone he invited personally himself. Viktor

Deals in the dark…
No one would assume a man of such high standing, like the High Priest, would be travelling to such dark places at the darkest time of night. Yet, rare few knew of how monstrous he truly was, and how he secretly enjoyed these dark nights. His movements were lithe and trained, a tiger stalking his prey. He was on a particularly dangerous mission tonight. An individual of interest had appeared on his radar. The man was a fellow creature of the night – an assassin who could be of great use. Unfortunately, the man was fighting for the wrong side... Vampires… The thought brought a vile taste to his tongue.
Viktor stood outside the abandoned arcade, which his target called his base. He held high hopes that he could persuade this unique individual to fight for Viktor’s cause; however, he was prepared to thin the ranks of his enemy if the situation called for it.
His business suit remained unruffled as he walked softly through the dark, creeping ever closer to the arcade. He may not possess the power of sight or detection; nevertheless, he could see energy itself and had become adept at differentiating the source. His piercing blue orbs saw everything… Every magical trace and rune the assassin left on his domain. Viktor knew how to deal with each and every spell with ease. He was an assassin himself, after all, despite it being a couple of centuries since he was in practice. Also, as High Priest, he felt it was his job to learn everything he could about all venues of magic in order to better instruct or handle any situation.
It did not take much effort to dispel the warning system that lay about the arcade. Simply absorbing the magic was all it took, and it would not alarm the resident of his tampering. After that was dealt with, with a wave of his hand, he became a shadow, an apparition. He cast illusion over the entrance so it made no sound as he passed through.
The smell of dust and neglect lingered over the old machines that looked untouched for years. While Viktor was a fan of video games, he was unable to indulge in them due to his time constraints. He was the sad owner of very little downtime.
His senses flared for the smallest signs of life. He may have been born human, but his humanity was lost long ago. His senses were on par with that of other supernatural beings, making him a ferocious enemy. His bloodlust was almost equal to that of a Vampire; he had more control, however.
It did not take long to find the basement, and with a few more waves of his hand, he had broken in. At long last he found himself in the company of a dark-clad man who was unaware of his presence. Viktor looked like nothing more than a shadow, yet this man was smart. The High Priest was curious as to the reaction his intrusion would yield; nothing less than aggression he assumed. If Viktor were ever startled, the one who had startled him would certainly pay the price.
”A curious home you have here... A man of your standing and repute, I thought you would be living in a little more luxury.”

The night was Garrett's territory it was the easiet time to get to his targets he was to steal from or kill per the mission details given to him by the Messor boss Andrei Belkov. During the daytime his targets would be too alert and on guard of their surroundings. It was at night when most usually let their guard down and relaxed enough to become vulnerable to him. He was lucky most were really the wealthy type which meant little security around them like the more richer targets who lived in fancy surroundings and lived the high life. He didn't actually like vampires either they treated his kind like a drug they could get off to when they drank his kind's blood which was like a drug to them like the drug ectasy was to a human. He only worked for the Messor and Andrei Belkov because there were an asset a means to his own goals and plans and the pay was good so he couldn't complain much but he would sell out the vampire progeny in a heartbeat for the right price. He knew very little of the Scarlet Council or their purpose in this world but he did have some files on some of their members like David Xanatos and Meredith Wells. It seemed to him they were some kind of order much like the White Fang had been to keep their own kind in check and a means to deal with the evergrowing population of Supernaturals and the problems they brought to humanity. He didn't have too much knowledge of their leadership or what they might be capable of really. They were an issue he would deal with later if they came to be a problem for him. After finishing a job earlier he retreated to his little hideout and home as one might call it going over some files on his computer systems now. He was still dressed in his usual assassin's attire hood removed now of course as he scanned his newly acquired files now for signs of these Black Mamba Order members. Hearing the voice though he remained calm and collected as he spun his chair around to face the intruder now a Magi it seemed and one of the high life society it seemed. It makes due for my purposes here in Las Vegas." he simply replied arms crossed against his chest now. "I don't exactly recall ever meeting you before so how is it you know about me and that I was here? What do you want with me?" Garrett said and asked now as he sized the man up a little now. He was powerful he could feel that much but he was more interested in why he was here now and who had sent him no one was supposed to know he was really here not even the vampire he worked for did. Cool and collected even in the face of surprise… Viktor liked this man already. A hint of what might be arrogance, but Viktor would let it slide… This time. Viktor could feel the potential within this man. He simply required to be moulded, and then he could become an arrow that Viktor fires at his enemies.
”You might know of me, but we certainly have not met…”
He dropped the illusion and the shadows dissipated as he stepped into the light. His piercing blue eyes regarded Garrett, assessing him. He began to draw closer to the seated man. As he moved towards Garrett, he allowed a small fraction his own power to break the seal of containment and resonate around him. Each step he took cracked the ground beneath him and caused the walls of the arcade to creak and moan. This was a demonstration of what Viktor was – a being unmatched. He wanted Garrett to know he meant business.
Before Viktor would go any further, he wanted to test the man before him – to see if this man was worth investing in. Viktor never made a bad investment.
”You and I could become great partners, but first... I want to see what you are capable of…”

Garrett would hardly call himself arrogant that was more his older brother's stick the older male could be rather abrasive at times but he usually meant well or so he kept telling himself. He knew better than to let his emotions get the better of him or attack so carelessly without first seeing what his opponent was capable of that was 101 in the life of an assassin. He wouldn't his guard down for now whoever this Magi was he was powerful to break in to his place like he had and surprise him as well getting past his Sonar abilitiy as well. He must've absorbed his magic traps upstairs if he hadn't been alerted to his presence until now. "Can't say I've ever heard of you if I don't even know your name or see your face," Garrett replied since he was well unable to see the man at all. Soon enough the man appeared like a ghost out of thin air now and wore quite the fancy clothes it seemed his voice led him to assume he was a high society man and his clothes certainly fit that bill to a capital T now. He couldn't say he didn't recognize him at all they definitely hadn't met before but he would soon find out just who he was her was certain since the older male seemed like he was on a mission now. Then the man began to approach him and he could feel his magic leaking out of him more cracking the floor with each step his power really was a little overwhelming now the man meant business before but that still didn't answer his question of what he wanted from him right now and how he really found him here. "Partners?" he asked raising a curious brow now what could someone as powerful as this man need his help with? It seemed though he wanted to test him somehow and so he stood now. "If you insist but not here there's an abandoned warehouse behind this building we can use," Garrett replied shoving his hands into his pants pockets now.

”I tend to work from the shadows, like yourself. My name is Viktor Ealdor, High Priest of The Scarlet Council.”
The Scarlet Council was renowned throughout the supernatural world, even some humans knew of them. Like Viktor said, however, he prefers to pull strings from the shadows. That is why he sought a partnership with the man. He would not tell the man this directly, but Viktor would be able to use him yet keep his distance from the aftermath.
”If you still wish to prove yourself, I will meet you there.”
On that note, Viktor disappeared once again into the shadows. He hoped his name and his display had not frightened the Magi off. Nonetheless, if the issued challenge had scared the man off, perhaps it was for the better. Viktor had no use for cowards.
Viktor’s speed was bolstered by his magic and he could match – or even exceed – a Vampire’s own agility. He was outside and at the warehouse without a moment’s passing. He waited in the middle of the warehouse, fully visibly and bathed in moonlight. He was curious to see how this man would proceed with the challenge. Would he fight Viktor out in the open or wait for opportunity in the shadows? Only time would tell, but Viktor stood at the ready.
A three thousand year old monster, waiting to be slain…

Garrett would look to the man more directly now as he proceeded to give him his name now and his position. Viktor sounded like a russian name to him really but he didn't seem like he was russian just a random thought he had really. "So you're like their leader then Mr. Ealdor? Do they know you're here then I can't imagine they'd let you go alone otherwise." he replied nodding his head a little now. His parents had mentioned the Scarlet Council once before but they'd never really been apart of it. They didn't know any of the members really but seemed to have some idea of the hiearchy they used to determine well who bossed around who and what duties they were given. Meredith Wells and David Xanatos seemed to be two of those higher up figures in charge of running their respective cities they were in and the Magi who lived there but he didn't care much for their rules really he played by his own rules and did as he wished nothing mattered more than bringing down the Black Mamba Order once and for all anyone who got in his way of that was collateral damage. He knew Viktor wasn't here for that though and doubted he would care much about his own plight no he was here on business of his own doubt and he would find out what that was soon enough. Again he seemed to be given a choice as Viktor disappeared as easily as he had reappeared before and his trace of existance along with him. He'd was still dressed and armed from his mission before but this was a Magi and powerful one at that he'd have to rely more on his magic this time as he headed out now and reapplied the magic seal to his hidden entrance to his basement before heading out not bothering with the rest of the traps as he pulled his hood down and took along the shadows of the alleyways to reach the abandoned warehouse which wasn't too far really and found Viktor already there and waiting for him now. "Well I'm here so what exactly is it you want to test me for?" Garrett asked as he appeared from the shadows behind him now and walked past him into the light as well now arms crossed against his chest again now. Viktor

”I am about to be more honest with you than I have ever been with anyone… I, like yourself, seek vengeance, but on a much grander scale. I seek to avenge the fallen, the weak, against those who claim to know what power is… I am here to show them what true power is.”
When Viktor said “honest,” it has a slightly different meaning. Frankly, Viktor has no other purpose than to control and conquer. He is a warrior of old. All he longs for is battle and victory. Over the centuries, he learned how to earn people’s trust and loyalty. Manipulation and displays of power usually did the trick.
”My purpose for you and why I seek to test you? Well, again to be honest: I seek devoted soldier to aid me in my quest. You seem to have some potential, but I want to know that you can endure.”
”So, Garrett Stone, assassin of the White Fang Order… Can you endure pain and still fight on? Will you live on past this day and taste the sweet victory of revenge? Prove to me you are of worth, and I will aid you in your personal vendetta. Fail this test… Well, you know the stakes.”
Viktor was getting excited and it could be seen in his eyes. Their typically brilliant blue shimmer now darkened, and the colour almost became red, like blood. His movements were smooth, almost like a dance. His right arm drew upward from his hip and rose above his head. The ground around him quaked and shook. The foundations of the warehouse groaned dangerously, signs that it may give way anytime soon.
”Be steadfast, assassin, and prove your worth!”
With a swift motion, Viktor dropped his arm and punched the ground at his feet. The rock and concrete gave out and a mini-earthquake rupture through the vicinity. He typically had more of a defensive fighting style, but in this situation he needed to throw the first punch. He felt like if he waited for the assassin, this battle might take a while. Viktor’s time was pressed, and as much as he wanted to do nothing more than battle, he had urgent matters he had to attend. He had to provoke the assassin into action.
If the assassin did not make a move to attack Viktor, Viktor’s next assault would be much more direct.

Garrett looked to Viktor as he spoke to him again now. About how he sought revenge as he did though for a bigger purpose it seemed. It made him think about David and Goliath the big guy with all the power and Viktor was the little guy who would take him down with real power which he claimed to have. His goal didn't seem to pertain to a few people but a lot more a lot more than just a handful he sought to avenge himself. He still failed to see what this all had to do with him really he was just a nobody really a insignificant piece in this vast world he understood little of really. He would be the judge of his so call honesty but he would hear him out for now at least as his eyes met his briefly now. He listened as he spoke firther now as his point in being here and why he sought him out now here and not. He seemed to want his help and support in his goal mentioned to him now and wished to well test his skills and endurance how strong he was and no doubt how much of a beating he could take before he didn't fight back anymore and was beaten. Hearing his name and the order he had been so faithful to brought really raised his suspicions of who this man really was and what power he was really capable of how did he know so much about him. No one was supposed to know about the White Fang Order but the Black Mambas and their own members. He had to wonder if his brother was involved here somehow or if another White Fang had sold him out now then again even they didn't know he was still alive only the Black Mambas and his own brother did. "You've got my interest now since you seem to know so much about me so I'll do this little test of yours." Garrett replied and afterwards he find out what the man knew about him and who this source was. Then he'd find them and deal with them accordingly later if they had anything to do with his enemies they would pay then. The time had come it seemed watching the man raise his arm now and felt his power quake again clenching his own fists tight now in anticipation. Then he unleashed a mini-quake after punching the ground he stood his ground and thrusting out his arms formed a barrier to stop the wave from hitting him and then dropping it he spun around thrusting his palms out a small tornado appeared and collecting the smaller chunks of the upturned ground now thrust his palms out again and fired them like bullets at Viktor now. His icy orbs watched with delight as the boy demonstrated his speed. He certainly had trained reflexes, which was a good sign. What else was he capable of? Well, that was for Viktor to test. Until he was satisfied, he would grant the boy no rest.
With graceful ease, Viktor narrowly stepped out of the path of the majority of the oncoming projectiles. The few stones that he could not dodge with a small side step were disintegrated as a wave of his hand sent a shock of energy through the air that disintegrated the incoming rock.
The High Priest pressed his attack – he wanted to stress the assassin and see how he worked under pressure. To do this, Viktor resorted to the extreme…
”You’re quick, boy. But how do you move when things get chilly…?”
Now it was time to play head games…
Raising his hands, he made swirling motions and as he did… A devastating gust of cold air began to swirl around the room. Snow and hail began to form and wreak havoc in the old warehouse. Chunks of debris joined the swirling mass that was now becoming a blizzard. The temperature seemed to drop incredibly as well. Viktor stood unfazed in the eye of the storm, but how did his adversary fair?
This scene would play out in Garrett’s mind, but in truth, it was all an illusion. While Viktor did put some effort into it, it was not his strongest attempt. Viktor had killed people before with his illusions. While he did not want to kill Garrett, if the boy was not strong enough to handle the trick, the elements – as fake as they were – would be his demise. As real as it felt, the truth was discernable. Would Garrett discover this truth before his body tricked him into believing he was actually freezing to death?
Viktor watched with much anticipation. The boy passed the physical test. Now it was time to see how strong his mind was…

Just who was this guy was all Garrett kept wondering as this test seemed to begin now. He barely even moved from where he stood when he punched the ground like he did and unleashed his mini-quake. Of course he knew to use a barrier to stop it from hitting him as it rippeled past his barrier and then dropping it once he stopped he launched his own counterattack. Again this man called Viktor barely batted an eye on looked on him in interest and curiosity as he watched him unleash his spells against him now and then he simply stepped aside to dodge those pieces of rubble that should've hit him and watched him disintegrate as he sent a shock of energy at them now. This was the so called leader of the Scarlet Council he had heard little about and sure enough he deserved that title clearly the most he could do really at this point was well survive it and hope it was enough to impress him. It seemed to obvious the chilly part he could expect a cold spell of some ice or maybe a blizzard but why would he tell him that? The look in his eyes seemed to suggest that there was something more to this a hidden motive to his attack watching as Viktor stood there moving his hands swirling them causing a gust of cold air to form around them now unleashing snow and hail in the process now and yet he stood his ground as Viktor as the temperature seemed to lower drastically now if it kept up he would freeze to death for sure. "You must learn to see past what you think is certain your mind can be your greatest enemy and loves to play tricks on you. Nothing is true everything is permitted." One was a saying from his master assassin mentor and one from a video game. Still the two rang true and he had to wonder if this wasn't all just in his mind. After all Viktor only wanted to test him and see what he was made of right? "This isn't real just an illusion." He said out loud to himself now and he could feel his body warming again becoming full of life again and away from death. He'd nod impressed really any second longer and he might've froze to death and it would've all just been in his mind. "I'm impressed you almost got me there but it seemed too obvious when you gave your clue like you did. Is there more to this test or are we done here?" Garrett asked he was ready for more if that was Viktor wanted. He couldn't afford to fail or lose now when he had to finish his vendetta with the Black Mamba and find his brother again only then could be at peace again and finally free of all this.

”Impressive.”
In the blink of an eye, the illusion dissipated. The warehouse returned to some normality, obviously a little more damaged than before. The monster inside Viktor wanted to truly get into the spirit of battle and rip this boy apart. Nevertheless, Viktor still had some control of his sanity and would put away his killer mentality.
This boy may have been successful in his endeavours in the past, but Viktor could “see” this boy’s future and its vast potential. There was much improvement to be made, but it was definitely a possibility. Viktor could hone this young body into a useful weapon – a pawn.
”Yes, we are done here. Now to move onto the future,” Viktor reached into a pocket inside his jacket and withdrew an amulet. This amulet was imbued with a tiny fraction of Viktor’s power, yet would bolster the young Magi’s abilities greatly. He offered it to the young man. ”Here is the deal: take this and have a small taste of the power that I can offer. The energies inside will not last forever. You can use it for vengeance and be done with it, or… You can train and become a more capable assassin under my tutelage, and have no need for this amulet in the end. Ultimately, what I offer is power, not only for vengeance, but to shape a better future for yourself, and the future of your own kind – Magi.”
The High Priest’s icy blue eyes did not stray from the young Magi’s as he spoke. He was solemn and clear.
”I understand if you need some time to think this over. If you need some time to think, you can take the amulet, and when your decision is made, it will lead you to me.”

Garrett was hardly being cocky really or boasting that he had found the illusion so easily. It just seemed like Viktor wanted to use him somehow here and would hardly kill him if he didn't have some purpose for him and well his clue made it obvious to him it was an illusion. The look in his eyes unnerved him a little like a beast who hungered for more battle but Viktor seemed to steel himself and remain calm and composed the opposite of the brief look in his eyes before. It made him a little wary of the man's true intentions and purposes for seeking him out he'd have to keep an eye on him when he was around but that didn't mean he would refuse his offer now not when it could mean the final end to his vendetta and bring freedom to him and his brother at last a sense of peace finally. He watched as Viktor spoke of the test being over before he produced a strange amulet he could sense a tiny fraction of Viktor's magik within it and soon enough as he expected Viktor spoke again of the amulet's purpose a part of his deal it seemed. It seemed he could simply take it and use it for his vendetta or he could cast it aside for Viktor's mentorship and a means to gain even greater power under his mentorship. "There's no need to wait really. Nothing is more important to me than ending my enemies and finding my brother. I'll accept your offer and do whatever you ask of me long as my own goals and vendetta are met accordingly." Garrett simply replied before taking the amulet and looking it over more closely now. It was a small price to pay playing as someone's tool if it got his brother back and brought about the ultimate demise of the Black Mambas. Viktor

”Excellent. Straight to business, I appreciate that.”
”Before the two of us move forward, however, you shall receive training from another – Marissa Thanatos, Head Inquisitor. When she deems you ready, she will pass you on to me… Be warned: this test was nothing compared to what Marissa will put you through. Be prepared to fight for your life. She is not as… merciful as I am. Nonetheless, if you survive, you will emerge stronger than you can imagine.”
Turning away, he left on a final note, ”Train hard… I will be watching. I’ve made an investment in you… Do not disappoint me.” An instant later and he was engulfed into the darkness of night, as if he was never there to begin with.

Garrett would simply nod at that and not comment on it really. He didn't have time to waste playing games and beating around the bush about something and hated people who did and wasted his time like he didn't have anything better to do. Viktor didn't seem like a man to waste time or money on something for no reason and something about the man didn't seem right with him but he would ignore it for now and focus on what he had to offer him really. He listened as he then spoke of this Marissa woman who sounded like she was anything but pleasant and would be quite the annoyance to him but it seemed she was yet another test for him from Viktor one he had to pass if he wanted to get closer to the older magi and the power he promised him and well he felt he could deal with a witch like this Marissa he wouldn't let her get to him or break him down not now when he had been himself up to be so strong and emotionally reserved much like his older brother had been doing so seemed to make him that much stronger in the end even if he was well kind of an asshole sometimes. Then quickly as he appeared earlier Viktor was gone without a trace it seemed leaving him all alone again and with his thoughts in silence again but his thoughts were anything but silent buzzing about madly as he would later go over and over what had transpired just now and how he would effectively deal with it all and where his brother might fit into it all once he found him again.
