He punched the wall above her head and she screamed, taking off into the darkness. The red hue burned in his eyes as his body underwent a very painful process. The locket burned against his chest, reminding him of why he was in pain. No matter how hard he tried, he couldn't feed from anyone, supernatural or human and his fight with Kaia left him ravenous and pissed off. His common sense told him it was probably good that he didn't feed from anyone right now. He'd probably kill them. As the girl's screams disappeared, Nykolae let out a growl and moved away from the wall. He really had no where to go tonight. He had no idea where Alex lived and he didn't dare step back in Kaia's penthouse. In fact, he really just wanted to get out of Las Vegas for the time being. Deep down, he knew Kaia wouldn't kill him but she'd put him near death a couple times just to prove her dominance over him. Leaving him near death required massive amounts of blood to recover and yet, the locket she gave him refused to allow him to take in fresh blood. It was as though Kaia was laughing at him. Hands in his pockets, he moved away from the building, heading down a straight of residential homes. Since the day he'd been born, taking his mother's life in the process, he'd been unwanted and hated. He'd never been able to find a place in the world and no one had ever wanted him. Alex, though he felt a brotherly bond towards her, had her own family, her own life. She had no reason to worry or care for him twenty four seven. Kaia only kept him as a pet because of his father, like he was a reminder she wanted to keep forever. And well, his father was dead. Killed by Kaia's own hand when she'd been to selfish to care. Nykolae had drowned himself in sex and blood since the day he'd left the orphanage, a way of rebelling against the norm in the hopes to erase his painful past and memories. Bringing women home every night was a small piece of feeling wanted for Nykolae. They were entirely devoted to him, even if it was only for a few hours. He'd had a brief moment where he'd thought he loved Kaia simply because she'd slept with him and had shown her vulnerable side. But tonight erased all that. He clenched his fists as he remembered her devilish smile. Fucking bitch thought it was funny. He kicked over a trashcan, making the neighborhood dogs bark. Viktor

”Someone’s in a rather upset mood tonight…”The words were taunting and cold as they dripped from his silver-tongue, yet his voice was warm and inviting. He stepped forth from the shadows and regarded the boy with his piercing blue eyes, sizing him up. Viktor’s senses were extraordinary. Not only had they been trained to perceive what normal humans, and even most Magi, could not, they were also amplified by his own magic. He could track a scent as well as any Vampire or Were-being, maybe even better than them. He could smell every aroma, old and new, that coated this Hybrid’s skin. Viktor was well aware of the fact that this man was a Hybrid, Vampire-Human to be exact. He would play dumb, however. He wanted to see how this unfolded. Viktor had previously been prowling the streets of Vegas for information. His colleagues would certainly disapprove of his methods, yet he cared not for their opinions. He refused to be holed up in an office while others were out doing his deeds. No, he was a warrior of old that fought his own battles. Not only that, he was always up for a challenge. As he stalked the streets, like a monster of the night, he heard a woman’s scream and saw his prey’s departure from the location of the stir. He proceeded to follow the man, hiding his steps and presence with his magic. His power of illusion was so strong that he was able to cover up his scent and he gave out no aura; it was as if he was a ghost. That was the way he liked it… Untraceable until his victim’s did not know what befell them. His nose picked up a scent he had not smelled in centuries… An old enemy… Kaia Rion. His icy blue eyes flared briefly as ancient fury boiled inside him. It took a few deep breaths to clear his system and refocus. His eyes fell upon a locket that donned the boy’s neck. It was teeming with powerful magic… Powerful being a relative term… Powerful to some, not to him. It was seemed like a pitiful trinket, but perhaps it caused some torturous effect that made the boy suffer… There were ways to find out, and Viktor’s schedule was free for the night. A little investigation perhaps? ”What youthful dilemma has caused you to be so upset? Hold on let me guess… It’s a woman, is it not?”Nykolae Demetri Sovereign

There was no doubt that no matter who decided to bother him, would be unwelcome. No one could make his night better and certainly not someone with a sarcastic attitude. He shoved his hands into his pockets and glared at the man who made himself known out of the shadows. However, if the man had hoped to startle him, he was sorely mistaken. He glared at the man's concern, or lack there of and snorted with sarcasm of his own. "You could say it's something like that. What the fuck do you want?" he asked. The breeze shifted and Nykolae got a face full of magi scent and his eyes burned red. What he wouldn't give to have a taste of Magi blood, even now when he was on a blood craze. But Nykolae had lots of practice on his patience and didn't move. Instead, he continued to glare at the man.
"Do you naturally roam around like some creepo talking to random people in the middle of the night or did you need something?" His voice was void of emotion and if anyone was there who knew him would tell the man it was his way of holding himself back. Controlling his emotions was his way of holding back his near impossible to control, desires. It also made him dangerous. Sure, he may have been half human but he could still tear someone apart if they pissed him off. Well, pissed him off more.

While the boy’s lack of respect was irritating, Viktor could see that it was not the child’s fault. Viktor had only recently come out of his self-induced “hibernation,” and was getting reacquainted with the world. Besides, no one thinks they would ever run into the High Priest in some dark alley at the ungodly hours of the night. No, he was much to pristine and respectable for that… It made Viktor laugh because if they only knew the truth…
Viktor spoke with a thin smile, ”What do I want? Nothing less than the world and its domination… That’s a discussion for another time, however.” He chuckled softly.
”That is not a polite way to address someone you know nothing about… Especially when you do not know what they are capable of…” He laughed heartedly this time. He was having fun, more fun than he would like to admit.
”I find the middle of the night is the best time to meet extraordinary people, would you not agree?”
With a simple gesture of his hand, a shimmering dagger stood out amongst the dark of the night, and he grasped it in his left hand. Taking his right, he ran his palm down the blade, cutting himself. He watched as thick red blood oozed out of the wound, and then his icy gaze looked over at the boy.
”Besides, it would seem I am in need of a medic. Would you know where I could find one?” He smiled now with cruelty as he teasingly held out his hand.
Vampires were a cheap way to have fun.

He snorted and crossed his arms but kept his eyes firmly on the man. "You sound just like anyone else in this world. Who doesn't seek world domination? Even humans have that most undesirable trait. And because of this mere goal of yours, I think it's only right to speak to you in this way. And don't try and flatter me with your "extraordinary" talk. You know as well as I do that, in this world, I am nothing short of a reject. Unwanted by those I share blood with." He watched the man's motions carefully, ready to spring into action at the slightest suspicious movement. When the dagger appeared, he found himself taking a step back. If this man was a magi, there was a fifty fifty chance that he was older than himself and could easily subdue him if he truly wished him harm but there was that other fifty percent chance that he could take off and never see him again. However, when the magi turned the knife on him, Nykolae felt a stab in his gut, as though the man had cut him instead. Hunger. He watched the blood drip from his palm and onto the hard surface of the concrete. His entire body screamed for him to move, the scent of his blood calling out to him much stronger than any human blood had. He remembered the taste of Tessa's blood and an involuntary moan escaped him. But it wasn't his suspicion of the man that held him back. It was the damn necklace. The fucking thing didn't allow him to feed from a human, willing or not. He still didn't know what Kaia got out of it besides entertainment but he truly felt like a dog on a leash and she'd managed to tighten the collar.
He clenched his fists and wrenched his eyes away from the blood of his palm and met his eyes once more, anger and hatred burning in his green eyes. "Sounds like a personal fucking problem." he told him. "What the Hell you want me to do about it?"

The old Magi watched with delight, as the half-Vampire’s eyes lit up with a fiery combination of pain and desire. Viktor had previously sensed the power of amulet when he first came across the boy, and now he discovered its purpose – torture.
Viktor stepped forward, toward the boy. His movements seemed slow, but were in reality incredibly lithe and controlled. The best representation of the High Priest was a tiger – powerful and cunning. He could discover what nerves to hit, and then toy with his prey until he was satisfied.
”Frozen in place, are we? Shame. Can’t let this go to waste, can we? Since you seem incapable of helping me, I suppose I’ll have to help myself.”
The Magi licked up his own spilt blood. The man was sick and cruel. Practically raised by Vampires, he sank to their level on occasion. Who said a non-Vampire couldn’t enjoy some blood every now and then, even if it was his own? As he licked his wound, he catalyzed his healing abilities and the wound was gone as fast as it had been made.
He continued pacing forward as he held the boy’s gaze. Viktor had gone solemn and his words rang with deep pain and honesty.
”Even the lowest of rejects have potential to seize the world. Countless leaders of the past were considered feeble until they accomplished greatness through perseverance and unconquerable will.”
Taking a crueller tone, he continued to regard the boy, but his expression had turned to disgust.
”Your self-pity is pathetic... The world can only label you if you allow it. Rise above this wallowing shit. Get angry and do something about your situation… Are you angry? Show me.”

Was he taunting him now? He couldn't even take a step back when he took a step forward. He was quite literally, frozen in place. He could feel his heart slamming against his rib cage and his breath hitched in his throat. With each step closer, the scent of his blood intensified and he felt more and more animal-like. The man's words became garbled, only seeming to go through one ear and out the other. It wasn't until the man was standing before him did he reach up his palm and lick the blood clean, leaving not even the wound behind. Normally, Nykolae would have been grateful that the source of his desire was taken away but this time, too starving, he felt a rise of anger and his body shook. Fuck Kaia and fuck this man! Why did everything in his life have to fall to shit? Why had he even been born?He had no true purpose except to be the plaything of others!
"You have some fucking nerve coming to me and pissing me off." he growled, red hued eyes burning. All he wanted was to tear into the man's chest and lick his blood from his fingers. "And this isn't self pity!" he snarled. "This is hatred!" His body moved before he was able to stop it. He knew what was going to happen, he could already feel the deep burn of the necklace against his chest but he didn't care. He was so hungry and the Magi's blood was so tempting... It was just an added bonus to exact his anger out on him. With lightening reflexes he reached for the Magi's arm, ready to twist it and break it at the shoulder. He planned on getting the Magi incapacitated and on his knees before he bit him, even if the smarter part of his brain was telling him that no part of this plan was going to work out in his favor.

And youthful angst now turns to violence…
The boy’s voice rose and shook with anger. Viktor could feel the heat of rage emit from the Hybrid’s body. Viktor knew what was coming. He knew the taste of battle before it even began. His centuries of combat and bloodshed trained his body to pick up on the smallest changes. Viktor was ready even before the Hybrid made his move. The boy was fast… But not fast enough.
Deadly reflex acted out as a barrier of golden light burst forth from Viktor and seemed to make the world stand still. In this little golden bubble, time seemed frozen, not a hair or muscle would twitch on either the Hybrid or the Magi until… A bloodthirsty smile cracked across Viktor’s previous emotionless face, and his voice got scarily low and cracked the eerie silence…
”I can appreciate your aggression and anger; however, let me teach you a lesson when you direct your rage at ME!”
In a flash of inhuman speed, Viktor’s fist shot forward towards the Hybrid. If it connect, it would crack right in the centre of his chest; consequently, knocking the wind out of him, breaking a couple of ribs, and send him flying through the allow to crash into a concrete wall, which would like cave with the force of the impact.
In effort to get to message across, but ultimately have some fun, Viktor continued his barrage. While not specifically an earth manipulator, Viktor’s power to manipulate energy itself allowed him to control the elements as if he was a natural. He would channel his energy into the ground the boy stood or laid upon, and proceed to encase the boy in the concrete material. With a simple raise of his hand, the ball of concrete containing the Hybrid would do the same until it was levitating several stories above the ground. Slamming his fist to the ground, Viktor would send the ball of concrete smashing into the ground, shattering it into many pieces with the boy lying among them.
Viktor would advance toward the debris that the boy would be found among. As he drew closer to the boy, Viktor’s hands would ignite and be surrounded in flame. He perched menacingly close to the boy, ready to lunge forward.
”Correct me if I am wrong, but Vampires don’t like fire, right? Well, I guess the real question… Who does?” Viktor laughed viciously.
”Tell me, boy: do you need the lesson to continue?” Viktor’s eyes shone with an unnervingly and inhumanly bright blue as he regarded the likely broken Hybrid.

The force of his blow was equivalent to being struck by a speeding semi truck. It sent him flying backwards into the cement wall and before he was able to take a breath and scream out in pain, Viktor was moving and the very cement around him gripped him in a coffin of steal, sucking that breath from his lungs. With almost the same velocity of being thrown backwards, Nykolae was forced onto the ground, the cement encasing him bursting apart and leaving him visibly shaking on the ground as he was finally able to let out a breath, blood splattering the pavement beneath him. He couldn't move. He was pretty sure a few, if not all, of his ribs were broken and wouldn't be surprised if he had a pierced lung. If he thought he was starving before, he was even more so as his half vampire body tried to repair itself. At this point, he was nothing more than human and would continue to deteriorate without a proper amount of blood. He lifted himself up onto an elbow and was able to throw himself onto his back where he let out a cry of pain. At least in this position, he could still see the Magi. Viktor's face was lit up with bright orange and it was the flames in his hand that caught his attention. He didn't know about vampires not liking flames but he knew that no matter if you were supernatural or human, flames still ate away anything they touched and honestly, wasn't looking to put burnt alive on his list of mistakes tonight.
He glared defiantly at the man. "Rather cocky for the man who clearly had this planned from the start. You approached a hungry vampire who, I'm assuming you quickly realized, can't eat and antagonized him to the point of violence and you're teaching me a lesson?! You're fucked up, dude." Nykolae closed his eyes and laid his head back against the pavement as his chest burned. Internal bleeding. Lovely. And he couldn't eat. He didn't want to admit it, even in his thoughts, but he wished he had a way to get a hold of Kaia...

“Defiant to the core, even in the face of death… I appreciate your spirit. It could be useful to me.”
The High Priest closed the gap between himself and the broken Hybrid that lay before him with unnatural speed. His hands still aflame, he knelt before the boy. He gently placed his right index finger on the boy’s chest. The flame from his hand slithered like a living entity off and onto the boy’s chest, where it proceed to spread all over his body. The flames, however, did not burn or cause any damage - quite the opposite, actually. It held the boy’s body in a stasis where he was fully conscious and responsive. He would not heal nor would he feel pain – he was held in limbo.
"'Fucked up’ is certainly one way to describe me. I’m used to old-fashioned cruelty. However, I can be merciful… At times,” he said with an enigmatic smile. ”I’m going to give you a choice here, so listen close…”
Viktor’s hand hovered over the boy’s neck, but instead lifted the amulet he wore for further inspection.
"I can sense the magic emitting from this trinket, and I can imagine it’s not pleasant. It’s petty magic, but enough to keep you contained… I can release you from its power, but I need an offer in return… What can you offer me? Think big. It’s your freedom on the line here. Do you want the taste of blood or not?”
Viktor was certain there was little value in whatever the Hybrid had to offer. That being said, Viktor was always looking for pawns, on all sides. Having one amongst the “enemy” certainly would not be a bad trade.

I can release you from its power Every fiber in Nykolae's being froze and he found himself giving the dick his utmost attention, whether he wanted to admit it or not. Kaia had literally taken away a part of him. Since the day he was ripped from his mother's womb, covered in her blood, Nykolae had drank blood for substance. Keeping him "sober" so to speak, was the line for Nykolae. He'd put up with her little girl like tantrums with him but she'd finally crossed the line when, not only was the locket his father's, she'd put a spell on it to keep him from drinking from anyone but her. She was bat shit crazy if he thought he'd drink from her again.
but I need an offer in return… What can you offer me? There was always a catch and Nykolae almost turned away from him... almost. He was hanging off of a cliff here. To give the man something, to make himself even more indebted to someone, would save his life while turning away would literally kill him. No matter how he looked at it, there was only one solid choice and he didn't like the idea of it. He's always been a loner and he much preferred it that way. He could do what he wanted, when he wanted to without anyone telling him otherwise. This "being in service" for others was growing old and the longer he stayed, the more he felt he owed others.
Do you want the taste of blood or not? "Yes." He spoke without realizing he did and cursed himself silently afterwards. His fucking hunger was making decisions over his rational mind. Practically starving, he could almost smell the man's blood from beneath his skin and it made his whole body ache with longing. He could almost overlook signing onto this man's bandwagon even if it felt a little like selling his soul.
"What are you interested in?" he asked him, shutting off his mental dialogue. He'd regret all of this later when he wasn't hungry and wasn't dying.

A dark smile curled the corners of his lips. The boy had just written him a blank cheque – a dangerous move. It would have been easier on the Hybrid to offer something of his own than to give Viktor the opportunity to hold all the cards. He regarded the boy with icy blue eyes as he came to his decision.
"A favour," he answered, plain and simple. But was it really that simple? Of course not. "A favour that can be called on at any time and must be fulfilled with no hesitation."
It was an easy decision for Viktor. He had no need for monetary gain and he doubted the boy possessed any ancient trinkets that would do Viktor any good. What Viktor sought most was servitude – exactly what the boy did not want. The High Priest knew all too well the pain of servitude. For the better part of four hundred years, he had been a slave to Vampires. It seemed poetic justice now that he had a Vampire in the palm of his hands.
"What do you say, boy? Do we have a deal?" He asked as he extended his hand to the boy. "One simple favour for freedom from this cursed state…"

His heart was pounding. A favor? That was it? That couldn't be that bad right? On the other hand, he'd constantly have a shackle on his wrist that would remind him of such a favor. He resisted the urge to pass out and it brought his mind to more immediate problems. Coughing up a clot of blood, Nykolae didn't allow himself much more time to think. He was going to die here on the sidewalk and no one in the world would give a shit. Not really the way he had planned to go out. Every fiber in his being burned for blood, scorching his throat as though he'd just swallowed fire. Being this close to him, he could smell the aphrodisiac nature of the man's blood and if he wasn't restrained magically, probably would have lost control by now.
"Just get this fucking thing off of me so I can eat. I don't wish to die pathetically here on the sidewalk, no thanks to you." It was the best "Agreement" answer this dude was going to get out of him. He closed his eyes, hoping this wasn't just hunger and fear of death talking and that he wouldn't live to regret his decision...

With a dark chuckle, Viktor spoke ominously, ”A deal has been made.”
The High Priest bent over and placed his index finger on the cursed pendant. A surge of energy fired from his finger and was absorbed by the necklace. While it seemed for a moment nothing would happen, Viktor waved his hand as if dusting the boy off. In that moment, the necklace disintegrated into powder and flew off with the wind – a fairly anti-climatic ending to such a debilitating curse.
As the curse was lifted, Viktor could have left the boy to find someone else’s blood to feast upon. He had fulfilled his part of the bargain and did not need to oblige the boy any further. Nevertheless, something about the boy made him stay. Perhaps Viktor could give him a parting gift.
”Here’s to our future.”
The knife he had created before came back to him, and with it, he sliced a great gash across his palm, which he offered the boy. He did not care for how much blood the boy drank. Blood was a necessity he did not need. His immense magical energy is what sustained him. He could survive devastating blood loss, starvation and dehydration, and still endure for an incredibly long time. He was as far from human as the Vampire that lay before him.

His mind and body didn't even hesitate. As soon as the pendant's weight lifted off of his chest, he found he could no longer control his vampire side. He snatched the Magi's hand, his eyes burning red and latched his teeth into the soft flesh around the cut, not even caring to be gentle. The rush of Magi blood rushing into his system started a chain reaction within him. Instantly, his torn muscles and broken bones mended, cracking audibly as they went back into place. His intense senses returned and he could hear the cats fighting three blocks away and the man's heart beat behind a weak defense of a rib cage and sinew. He felt, rather than heard, himself give an animal-like moan of satisfaction. When he, or any vampire for that matter, was feeding, it was one of their more intimate moments and were quite vulnerable. In a normal state of mind, Nykolae wouldn't have opened himself up to such vulnerability but the intoxicating scent of Magi blood had pushed him over the edge of all normal thinking. Instead, he didn't "return" until his stomach gave a small heave and he detached from the man's hand, wiping the blood from his mouth on the back of his hand, still giving the man a suspicious look. He stood up, swaying for a moment as if drunk, before he leaned his back against a nearby wall, letting his body get readjusted and for his temporary "intoxication" to work it's way through his system. There were several minutes of heavy silence between them before Nykolae finally spoke. "How will I know when I'm supposed to uphold my bargain?" he asked, his voice rough with a slight angry note. He was definitely going to regret this decision later. "I don't even know your name..."
