Ulric Duke, a thief and con-artist and werewolf, met a female werewolf named Ailsa and fell in love with her. He even retired his life of crime for the woman after she accepted his wedding proposal. A year later, Cailean was born. Life was good for him until he was about four. His sister was born and some a year after that, Ailsa left. Ulric lost it and went back to his criminal lifestyle. He also took his anger out on his children, the brunt of it going to Cailean as he did his best to protect his little sister from their father's wrath. Ulric forced Cai into his life of crime, but mostly ignored Audrey until she turned about fourteen. He then decided to use her as a pawn for scams.
When Cai found Audrey after she was sexually assaulted at thirteen and learned their father had set it up, he killed the man and took off with Audrey to Las Vegas after that. They lived pretty comfortably for the most part until wind of Ailsa being alive and well began surfacing. Audrey, having no memories of her mother grew more and more intrigued. When Audrey voiced her desire to find their mother, a conflict stirred up. This wasn't something he was interested in so he blatantly refused to allow it. As far as Cai was concerned, his mother could rot and his sister was being stupid.
One day, the fighting escalated horrifically and things were said and done that couldn't be taken back. Next thing he knew, Audrey was gone. Like their mother, she had left me. Despite having a decent job at the time, he started to drink a lot more frequently and returned to stealing and conning just as his father had raised him to be. Recently he has gotten involved with the Resistance.
