Playing den mother to three very powerful and very unpredictable siblings (especially darling Viktor,even if she does care about him) while also trying to make sure the paranormal world keeps it together and doesn't do something stupid and go to war or something like that tends to be a very stressful task. Of course you can't flip a table,throw fireballs,or even tell people how you really feel about in a meeting,so you have to hold it all in and try to not completely lose it once you're in private. And that's why she will sometimes become irritable. It's not the Oscar the Grouch brand of "everything is terrible" kind of irritability, she usually finds one minor thing and fixates on it. Examples include things like having quietly been watching a Miss America pageant and then, "This has to be at least the third time one of these girl's said something about world peace, how about an original idea or at least an inkling of a thought of how to obtain it? And they all need dictionaries because like is a means of comparison,not a filler for the wide gaps in their intelligence!" To be fair,if she snaps at a person she realizes doesn't deserve it,she'll apologize.

Sophia is a caring person who is dedicated to her ideals. She believes all beings can live together in peace and refuses to give up on that idea no matter how many times said beings fail to. Every life has meaning and every member of every intelligent species is free to choose good or evil,so everyone should get a fair chance. That doesn't mean she's above telling someone when they're wrong, sarcasm, or a little manipulation.  She can be persuasive when she wants to be and she will often try to add subtle hints and satire through snarky comments. Most of the time though,she is generous and helpful to as many people as possible. Whether it is taking time to help someone else with a personal problem or helping provide food and money to those who need it, she is very giving.

She has a great dedication to what she believes is right. When she believes her idea is right,moral,or simply to good to pass up.she sticks with it. While that may be a good thing sometimes,other times, it means she doesn't dismiss ideas that are impractical or unusable. It can also lead to times that she doesn't give proper consideration to differing points and opinions.

There was a time. A time when things were simpler,a time before the tension,before the supernatural was more than a passing thought in day to day life,a time when she was just a girl living in a farming village. Her parents and grandmother were loving but nothing unusual besides being forward thinking and a tad doting for their time except for the fact that they were Magi.

This was no secret though as the family believed in using their gifts to help others. Sophia still remembers her grandmother's bedtime stories,her father's warm hands bouncing her in his lap,her mother's smile,and long hours spent playing with her big sister. The sisters might as well have been conjoined for all the time they spent together whether in work or play. Zoe's magic surfaced around age 11 which made Sophia proud and slightly envious. The other girl's appeared three years later when she started skipping and found herself above the ground as opposed to on it. There was another thing she would always remember,how Zoe yelled with pride and excitement to get her parents to see her levitating sister. (15th century BC)

Adolescence
Air, Earth, Water, and Fire had been mastered, leaving only Spirit. The two girls found that this new element awakening new gifts within them. Zoe found she could tap into the energy of the earth to manipulate plant life resulting in a wide array of possibilities including fist sized thorns. Sophia's gift was less visible but quickly became obvious. It started with her dreams,she once dreamed of a snake curling itself back and forth on an egg,the next day there was an earthquake. Others were less symbolic like dreaming of a woman holding a baby and months later the woman is pregnant. Soon,she became able to end people's sentences for them and "just know" things she couldn't have heard about. She noticed something else, boys did not hold her interest. Other girls would go on about how they'd want their husband to look or how handsome a visiting boy was. While Sophia noticed they were attractive and well proportioned, she didn't feel any strong desires towards them.


Bad Omen
Sophia's life changed rapidly in her early adulthood. She was visiting her cousin Friduric,a soldier, with her family when she had one of her more important visions,one of a visiting politician being stabbed by his own guard. Sophia tried to warned everyone she could but no one outside her family would listen so she took matters into her own hands. On the day of the politician's visit, she persuaded to Friduric to let her a better standing place in the ground and kept her eyes peeled for the man from her visions. The man made his move to stab the politician and she made move to make a barrier of earth to block the blade. She won.

The residences of the city were shocked,prophecies were made everyday but rarely almost came true as well as displays of real magic on top of that (Fridric had powers himself but was subtle about it). Soon people from all over came to see her and know their future. This worried Elias and Chara,too many people being aware of their daughter's gift could be dangerous,people could turn on her easily if they weren't able to get an fortune that pleased them or if the prediction was a false alarm. The woman, being young and naive,begged her parents to let her stay and be of service, her visions were helping people and the people she had helped brought gifts and money she could send home. After all,Friduric would probably be stationed here for a while and she could go home if things went wrong.

Things did go very wrong though. It started with the same dreams over and over, eight magpies were flying in a clear blue sky when there was a flash of lightning and a hawk attacked. She didn't understand the dream but she knew it was a warning, she insisted that people did not bring birds to her, that they did not ask any questions that might be offensive to any god,she made sure to donate more money to the poor and took caution with who'd she'd give answers to.

Akos the Marred
For two years, it seemed that perhaps whatever crisis there might have been had been averted but one day the city was put attacked by the forces of a warlord known as Akos the Marred. Akos the Marred was known for three things,his skill at conquest,his cruelty,and the talon shaped marks on across his face. Realizing the man was part of the warning from her vision, Sophia fled for home. It took months of walking and hitching caravan rides but she arrived home safe to the relief of her family. Unfortunately,the warlord had heard of a woman with the gift of prophecy and magic and would not so easily be stopped,after all, he thought her gifts could make him unstoppable. He sent one of the attack's survivors to subtly track her in exchange for their survival and discussed with his advisor's how he might come to maintain control over her magic. The answer was rather simple,he just needed iron armor.

Capture
"Sophia! Sophia,you have to get up now!" The girl blinked her unfocused eyes,mouth slightly open in confusion. "Sister,what's happening?" Barely awake,the girl's words were slow and muddled. Zoe gripped Sophia in her arms tightly and looked straight at her with tears in her eyes,
"I'm sorry,there is no time to explain. Just take this", she threw a thick blanket at the younger woman

"Cover yourself with it and run,run away as far as fast as you can-"  If there was danger, why was her sister staying behind,where was the rest of her family? Were they safe? She opened her mouth and barely managed to squeak out a soft tremble.

"Zoe,what- what about...."

Sophia couldn't bring herself to ask what was happening, if her family was safe, or even  if Zoe... What if she never saw her sister again? There was a pull to Zoe's lips but no joy in her eyes. 

"Everything will turn out all right,but you have to go now! No matter what happens, keep going and do not turn back!

The girl was rushing past the chaos of the invaded village,blanket concealing her face and form,when she heard her sister scream.
