It was time it seemed for the meeting he'd hoped would never come to pass Reshira wanted to meet Dash. He'd tried to persuade her to reconsider, but she was stubborn as she is beautiful and insisted they all meet and sit down having a talk. He sighed this is not how he wanted to spend his Sunday. He wanted to sit down have a drink watch TV maybe fool around with his wife a couple times instead he was being forced to spend another day in Dash's company. One day was more than enough for him, but two was pushing it, not that he hated Dash he just didn't want to have to be around the person who made him ship his daughter across the sea. It was a dreadful reminder that it was all for nothing. He sighed as he sat down watching his wife smile so gleefully at this. "I can't believe you are taking such pride in my misery." He said looking at her. "if you wanted to torture me you could have taken me clothes shopping with you that would be more bearable then this." He said waving his hand indicating the situation he was in now. "I thought you loved me we could be upstairs doing "stuff" instead we're down here waiting." he said leaning his head back. "I can't even smoke a cigar now."

Reshira was pretty happy her husband's day out with Dash had gone fairly well. It didn't mean he was ready to call him his son-in-law yet but it meant he would tolerate him a little better now and that in itself was progress enough for her really. Aurora was so happy too she had high hopes again that things would be better like they used to be between her and her father and it would be when he finally let go of his stubborness and pride and finally accepted their daughter had grown up and was moving on with her life a life she would now share with Dash. David himself should know there was little that could be done to change a Siren's mind once it was made up and Aurora's mind was set on this wedding and making her life perfect with her would-be-husband now. He should know how hard it was to change someone she'd been rather resistant at first against some of the things he wanted her to learn and do but in the end she realized he was right and did the things he asked of her to make him happier and content with her. Neither of which he was today sadly having his sunday plans ruined no doubt he'd already planned it out to a T he'd watch some TV maybe read a little and then at some point they'd fool around and then enjoy a good nap together before dinner. That morning though she called Aurora and asked her to send Dash over so she could spend a little time getting to know the boy better and David was not happy about that his Magi instincts to protect her seemed to kick in now. "Don't be such a baby my dear I wish to get to know my future son-in-law Reshira replied as she sat in his lap now and smiled sheepishly at him arms wrapped around his neck now. "Would be happy and stop complaining if I told you what my surprise was early?" she asked with a grin now and then smiled sheepishly at him. "I do love you you silly man and one day wont kill you I'll make it up to you," she replied nuzzling him affectionately now.

Dash had thought their little luncheon together and real estate outing had gone pretty well. Aurora was quite pleased about it but he didn't dare tell her about her father's bet with him or the threat he had given him if failed and hurt Aurora in any way. He did his best to make him understand how he truely loved his daughter and was absolutely sincere about marrying her and taking care of her like she deserved to be happy and loved always no matter what. Someday they might have a family though Aurora didn't seem too keen on that right now and he was fine with that he was in no rush really he was just relieved their children would be sirens like her and not potentially dangerous djinns like he was. Most of them were rather mischievious and tricksters tricking people like him into becoming a Djinn after freeing them from their lamps. He never wanted his kids to face the life of being a creature like that. He'd expected to enjoy his sunday and relax while Aurora worked on some project and music of hers and didn't really expect to see her father again so early. He'd barely sat down after lunch to enjoy some show on Las Vegas magicians when Aurora got a call on her cell and then came out to inform him her mother wished to spend a little quality time with him and was sure Aurora's father would be present as well to keep an eye on his wife for safety reasons no doubt not that he had anything against it just seemed he was even more protective and cautious around his wife from the last time Aurora had brought him to meet her parents after their reunion beforehand. So here he was on his way up to meet her parents again this time with his better half by his side. He'd just have to keep his cool and calm around the two so he didn't give Aurora's father any reason to hate him or go back on their deal now last thing he really wanted to do was break Aurora's heart again by having himself sealed away by her father for wronging him. He just hoped he wasn't here too long and could get back to enjoying his own sunday as well with Aurora as he gave a knock on their front door now.

"You could get to know him at the wedding or the day before." He said looking at his wife as he sat in his chair. He wished he could light up a cigar, but he'd promised Reshira he wouldn't. David looked at her an eye raised. "is it something to do with your underwear or lack thereof?" He said getting a glint in his eye hoping she was talking about what he thought she was talking about this would definitely pick up his morning until he remembered that they were expecting Dash so there may not be enough time for that. "Are you teasing me now Reshira I didn't know you were into denial play how cruel." He said as he heard a knock at the door and Bertram being the loyal butler he was, was already in action. He opened the door and looked at Dash. "Hello Mr. Storm Mr. and Mrs. Xanatos are in the living room awaiting your arrival. Follow me." He said walking into the Parlor. "A Mr. Storm here to see you sir and Madame." Bertram said as he stepped aside to allow Dash in. "Is there anything I can get you sir? Soda, juice, or would you prefer a beer?"

"Why do I have to wait until then if you don't honey?" Reshira asked pouting a little now. She knew he had met with Dash again already no doubt to give a deeper feel about the young man and how he really felt about their daughter. She was sure he had probably threatened him too what would happen if he ever laid a hand against Aurora or hurt her in any way really. She'd smile sheepishly as he then inquired if it had to do with the lack of underwear since she did occasionally walk around in her birthday suit under her clothes they just felt like a hassle sometimes. "Well today is our special time day so I'm not wearing any but that's not the surprise really. Now do you want a hint or should I just tell you what it is?" she replied with a smile on her face now and asked not sure if he was in the mood for a game like this or not so if he asked she would simply tell him then and not tease him any further about it. "I'm serious now soon as he is gone I'll make it up to you we can spend the rest of the day in bed together," she replied laying against him now and nuzzled him a little affectionately now. Then she could hear a knock at the door and moved to get up now straightening herself a little and her dress out more smoothly now. Then Bertram walked in followed by Dash now who looked a little nervous about meeting with both of them this time without Aurora here like the first time they had all met up again. "Just get us some juice and some snacks if you would be so kind Bertram," Reshira spoke up now sure that David would say the same thing as well they were connected after all through telepathy and could sense where each other were or how they were feeling and he didn't really feel like he was in the mood for any alcohol right now. "I'm so glad you could make it Dash please please take a seat," Reshira spoke again once Bertram had left the room again.

Dash would sigh a little he couldn't believe Aurora bailed on him though after he asked her to come with him. It wasn't because he refused to see her parents if she didn't he would've just felt more comfortable with her there for support and comfort. She claimed to be busy though handling their finances for his new busiess in the works since she had become his partner in it and promised to make it up to him later. He couldn't stay mad or annoyed with her for long so he'd hold her to that as he left to come here and meet her parents alone this time. He'd never met her mother too much before when he first met Aurora since she had been trying to keep her new boyfriend a secret from them because he was human not really sure why that mattered then again he didn't know much about Sirens back then. It was only when David confronted him and explained a bit about the species and what that meant for his wife and daughter that he began to understand why David did what he did even if it was rather harsh to do so to his own daughter. Now he was meeting a more aged Siren and he could only picture Aurora's mother being a lot like she was in terms of personality though probably less being strict than her father was. Knocking on the door soon enough it opened and the butler greeted him. "Of course," he simply replied and followed the man into another room where he found Aurora's father and mother waiting for him. Then he was asked what he wanted to drink but Aurora's mother seemed to answer for the group now. "What she said is fine my good sir thank you," Dash replied nodding in agreement with Reshira now. Then the man was off and at Reshira's request nodded and took a seat on the couch opposite the two now. "Of course I wouldn't miss it for the world. Aurora wanted to come but she was busy so she couldn't make it," Dash replied running a hand through his hair a little now. Then he looked to David who seemed a little bit in a bad mood no doubt he had messed up his plans for the day by coming here at his wife's request who didn't seem to inform him really until the last minute most likely.

"Trust me I would be happy waiting right alongside you. you know that that wasn't my idea to go spend valuable time with him discussing things in a diner of all places. I'm a board room man I'm at my best in the boardroom not at a diner." He said looking at his wife. "I really wish you and Aurora would stop trying to force a connection between the two of us. This man is the reason I had to ship my daughter half way across the world I'd rather not be reminded of that day after day." He said reaching for a cigar that was no longer there. "Man I've never wanted to smoke so bad." He said then Bertram got up to answer the door. He looked at his wife who was halfway out of her seat. "I don't know why you even bother Bertram can hear litter in the next county there's no way you'd beat him to the door." David said as Dash entered and Bertram left to get refreshments. No doubt his daughter knew what kind of mood he'd be in and elected to stay our of it. David looked out the window thinking over the new magic he was intending to build something that at first would be only something he could use, but with a little tweaking maybe it could be used to fit any magi. He rubbed his chin as he thought of his new puppet Magic. This would be so much easier if I had someone to teach me Weapon smithing all I have are books. He thought to himself to anyone else he'd be dead to the world. Then again maybe I can substitute my lack of knowledge in that area with my technical expertise combining magic with science should be easy for me, but where to begin. He wondered looking at Bertram as he entered with three glasses of lemonade alongside a pitcher and some cookies. David grabbed the straw from his glass and began chewing it fervently this was a poor substitute for a cigar but it would have to do as he dove back into his puppet problem.

Waiting to reveal her secret to David @david
words: idc | Reshira would smile sheepishly at her husband he was always so patient with her and that something she appreciated the most about it him really. Then she'd frown a little making it sound like he hated meeting Dash for a little time together no doubt he'd done it to appease Aurora and her since both insisted he do this and bond more with his future son-in-law and well she thought he had a good time since he didn't come home as grumpy as when he left before leaving to meet Dash. "Maybe so my love but it made our baby happy you did it for her sake. You don't have to love him like a son but you do have to tolerate him better for Aurora's sake," she replied now. Of course then she sighed as he brought up them both trying to make him or well as he claimed forced them to like Dash he could be so stubborn sometimes. "No one questions your reasoning for sending Aurora abroad like you did. You gave her time to grow and mature more and prevent breaking her heart at such a young age. He's not a human anymore he can live as long as we can if not longer and he's make her happy isn't that enough for you?" Reshira asked as she moved to stand up now hearing the doorbell ring now. "I was just stretching my legs a little. God knows no one can get to something quicker than Bertram can," Reshira replied smiling sheepishly now. "That's too bad I had a surprise for everyone to hear to day guess I'll give her a call later and tell her," Reshira replied frowning a little hands on her hips now. Then Bertram finally returned with some lemonade and cookies and cooed gently as she grabbed a glass and a handful of cookies now retreating to a chair now as she stuffed one into her mouth whole now.

Meeting the Parents. @david words: idc | Walking in behind Bertram now he could tell David was anything but happy right now.It was Sunday no doubt he wanted to chill and relax instead of having to see him again so soon. Aurora's mother Reshira looked peppy and cheerful as ever he'd yet to see a frown or any kind of negative facial expression really on her face now. Then again he doubted anyone wanted to see her get mad and screech loud enough to burst their eardrums or head like some balloon. He had to wonder was she capable of that really? Curiosity killed the cat they would say and really he could just poof away any damage she caused him or to the place around them now. Then he took his seat as Bertram left to fetch them some drinks and cookies now. Soon enough after a little akward silence he returned as Reshira spoke to him again now and nodded at that. "I'll be sure to let her know as well your calling when I do return home to our place. She was just busy sorting out our finances for my little project to be included into out budget now that I have decided on a venue for it now.," Dash replied smiling at her before moving to grab a drink and a few cookies himself now not sure if he would eta any really just yet but just in case he thought afraid she'd eat them all now. She seemed hungry enough the way she devoured one cookie almost whole like that. He hoped it was a good surprise she had for them and not something bad involving him.
He'd had enough threats already from David at the diner before. her nature though put him a little at relief she looked rather perky right now like she couldn't hurt a fly he wasn't even sure a thunderstorm could get her down for long. "So um how are you Mr. Xantatos? Stocks seem on the up and up lately so that's good news I'm sure. You must be honoroed Aurora wants her wedding in your native homeland." Dash replied now. Honestly he wondered how her father felt about that she'd be been torn between Greece and Austrailia but in the end settled for a mixture of the two with Austrailia for the setting of the wedding in general now. multiply life by the power of two |
