Power: Divine weapon, Wings & Flight, Placing Diligence onto others, Enhanced Senses
Power Description: Like all the other angels, Raphael was gifted with a divine weapon by the goddess Mayaria that could essentially tear away a Demon’s Magik, rendering them powerless. The Divine Weapon can also be used to kill a Demon or other angels, but Raphael could never use his weapon on his own kind as he knows it would corrupt himself as well. Ray is also graced with wings, which allow him to fly to other places and acts as a convenient means of transportation. Along with flight, Raphael is also possessed by a Demi-God, who possesses the virtue of Diligence. As such, Raphael is able to insert the virtue of Diligence onto others by touching someone’s hand and encouraging them into being more diligent individuals. It goes well with his work as a doctor, after all. Accompanying this Virtue ability is the ability to sense a Demon within the area that Ray’s in. Once sensed, Ray is able to track down the demon’s trail and go after it.
Power Limits: Everything has a weakness, no matter how powerful they are. While Ray is gifted with the ability to sense Demons, the scent trail needs to have been within the vicinity of him. Otherwise, he’s not going to realize a Demon was around unless it is in the same area as him. And, he needs to act quickly or else the scent trail will go cold after 24 hours. Ray’s Divine Weapon also poses a potential and deadly risk as well to Raphael. If he uses this on another angel, it will release the Magik and corrupt him.

Personality
[attr="class","appcontent2"]At heart, Ray is a hard-working individual who strives to be the best he can be. It is a trait that has always been with him long before the Demi-God possessed him. Once he sets himself to a goal, Raphael will stop at nothing to achieve it. However, he might get so wrapped up in it that he stresses himself out, often ending up cranky and snappy. So that’s why he’s known as Cranks by some of his fellow co-workers in the surgical ward of the hospital (such rude little minions gdi, gossipping about your boss behind his back). But other than that, Ray is pretty dedicated to his craft and if it weren’t for the diligence, Raphael wouldn’t have been able to get to where he is now-the honored title of Chief of Surgeon at one of the best hospitals in Manhattan.
As said before, Ray is prone to being cranky and snappy. But generally, he’s amicable really (aside from his sarcastic personality) and he’s actually pretty great at talking to other people. As a doctor, a people’s skill is a must, so he’s quite a social creature and he likes interacting with the patients, especially with the children in the hospital. He and his deceased wife had once talked about having children before, but ever since she got killed by a demon, Ray has long since dropped the dreams of ever getting married again or having children as he’s afraid of getting his heart broken again. Love is a dangerous territory for Raphael, who has stayed far away from ever getting too close in a romantic relationship. He has dated in the past, but he’s never stuck with them too long and his relationships end up being just physical relationships.
While he is a doctor, Ray is also a fighter as well. Although that was more his younger years, when he used to be more ruthless and unyielding. However, the years have mellowed him out a bit, although Ray still maintains a stern demeanour. He does not like to fight, but he will act on it if it is necessary. He will do whatever it takes to protect himself and his close friends if it is needed. Raphael will not fight unless he is forced into a situation where he cannot talk the other person out of fighting. Killing is his last resort as this is not something he wants on his hands. He already has shed so much blood on his hands before in the past, most of them the blood of his fallen brethren who became demons, and he’s tired of the killing. It also goes against his beliefs as a doctor, as doctors are meant to give life, not take away.
Having a voracious love for knowledge, Raphael is a dedicated angel who has worked hard to soak up as much as he can about medical knowledge and other things as well. He daily reads journals of other doctors and also historical novels. Ray also loves science fiction as well, and loves all things related to it.
Ray also talks with a distinct English accent, an accent that has long since stuck with him ever since he lived in England, even though he doesn’t live in London anymore.

History
[attr="class","appcontent2"]
Long ago, in the golden era of Gods and Goddesses, the goddess Mayaria had fallen away from Gods Realm, wishing to create children of her own and in her own image. The other Gods were busy making mortal creatures to worship them, but Mayaria wanted children of her own who could call her affectionately as a mother. Thus, the Four Demi-Gods (Reinzi, Crenn, Arran, and Balek) were brought into existence. Even though the other Gods shunned them from the Realm of the Gods, Mayaria placed them into a paradise of her own. Things seemed to be going well for the Demi-gods and Mayaria, but soon things turned sour once the demi-gods got consumed by their great Magik power, and began fighting amongst themselves and against Mayaria. Disappointed in the failure of her creations, Mayaria sought out again to try again by creating the Angels, who were, this time, born without any presences of Magik. Raphael was one of the first few angels to be created, and he put all his effort into loving his mother, having a close connection to Mayaria. He also was one of the gentlest souls, yet he had an air of ambition about him. Raphael strived to be the good son, so he worked hard to please Mayaria.
Then everything changed when the jealous Demi-gods began corrupting the other angels. Frightened by how quickly the other angels were transforming into demons, Raphael worked especially harder to uphold his own beliefs and resisted the temptations the demi-gods posed to him, not allowing himself to be distracted off the path. Mayaria was angered by the Demi-Gods and sent them to the Other Realm. But not before one of the Demi-Gods came to Raphael, beseeching him to allow him to take his vessel. At first, Raphael refused, not wishing to be corrupted. But the Demi-God said he simply didn’t wish to be sent to such a place of darkness and promised that once Raphael was sent to Earth, he would would vacate Raphael’s vessel. Raphael, feeling sorry for the celestial creature, finally agreed and thus, the Demi-God’s essence was absorbed into the Angel’s body.
The 13 other demi-gods completed the spell, and before Raphael was tossed to Earth from the Divine Realm, the Angel was gifted with a Divine Weapon. A weapon that could strip the power of Magik from an Angel, rendering them powerless. Equipped with the weapon, Raphael was sent to Earth. However, the Demi-God remained locked inside Raphael, keeping dormant inside Raphael. Even though the Demi-God remained dormant, Raphael could still feel the energy of the Demi-God within his soul, seeping through every fiber of his body. But instead of being corrupted, Raphael remained steadfast in keeping control over the Demi-God’s presence, taking on the abilities that the Demi-god possessed: the virtue of diligence. He placed his mark upon the humans, helping encourage others into working hard. In turn, his influence had a hand on the growing economy and jobs in changing civilizations.By putting diligence into humans’ minds, Raphael believed that he was doing good work on Earth.
But not all was going great, as seven Angels had turned into Demons and caused havoc upon the human race, hell-bent on destroying mankind. Raphael, and his six other Angel brothers remained on the side of Good, working to clean up the messes that the Demons had caused. As a result, Raphael and his brothers ended up clashing against the Demons, getting wrapped up in an unending war of Angels and Demons. Raphael worked vigilantly to keep innocent lives from being shed and killed Demons along the way, but he couldn’t get to everyone sadly. Nonetheless, Raphael still did his best to keep the Demons at bay and from wiping out the humans. The Silver Cross was formed along the way, with four of the best Angel warriors at the center, and Raphael was given the Lordship over Diligence as an Archangel.
As this fighting went on, Raphael was nearly consumed with a passionate drive to kill and push the Demons away. He was determined to show the Demons who was superior, looking down on the Demons with disdain, even though the Demons had Magik whilst he did not. He was a ruthless warrior, slaying the demons with a predator-like grace and the lithe movements of a trained killer. However, Raphael eventually grew tired of the fighting and killing, knowing that this war would never end if they continued in this way. Deep inside, he was soon feeling regret. Regret for killing the Demons because they too were once angels like him. Once pure and innocent. Raphael wanted the fighting to stop, so when the Angels and the Demons finally came to an agreement, Raphael at once felt peace. He hid himself among civilization, keeping his wings disguised in the form of the tattoo on his back, and lived quietly for some time among the mortals, hiding his Divine Weapon. However, that peace would not last long as the demons once again started lashing out again, still angry at being tossed from the Divine Realm. Thus, Raphael once again took up the Divine Weapon and fought with Demons whoever crossed his way again.
As time passed, Raphael eventually kept the killing to a minimum, killing demons only if they crossed paths with him and tried to kill an innocent being within his vicinity. Over the years, he traveled around the world, soaking up knowledge everywhere he went. He was a voracious learner, and the art of medicine intrigued him. So he worked hard especially, learning all sorts of medicine, which completely fascinated him to say in the least. He wanted to give back to the humans, who taught him so much, and he felt like helping them out. Raphael was so skilled in his way of curing patients that humans started worshipping him as Raphael, the Angel of Healing. He didn’t have any special Magik, but he was just so well-skilled in carrying out medical techniques that his work was almost miraculous. He attended universities, medical schools, and earned several Ph.Ds as he became a well-accomplished doctor of the world.
As centuries passed, Raphael would disappear from time to time while traveling to other parts of the world, to prevent from humans catching onto that he wasn’t an ordinary human. He would constantly change his identity to hide himself from the demons as well. Then he came across a beautiful young human woman named Delilah in England, and Raphael was smitten with her. Months later, Raphael was married to her and had a happy marriage with Delilah for 2 years in London before her untimely death. A demon had figured out Raphael’s location and taken Delilah as hostage, demanding that Raphael bow down to him. Filled with intense worry for his wife, Raphael of course acquiesced to his demand right away. But the demon killed her anyways by twisting her neck, making Raphael agonized and completely heartbroken. Angered, Raphael swiftly killed the demon with his Divine Weapon before he went to his wife’s dead body, cradling it in his arms as he weeped silently. That was 70 years ago and since then, Raphael has stayed away from love, not wishing to fall in love again, in fear of losing someone precious again. The archangel couldn’t bear to go through that again. Instead, he focused solely on work as a doctor, entering the surgery department.
As of recently, Raphael currently lives in Manhattan, New York, in a single apartment with his lovely Turkish Angora cat named Tiberius, and works as a Chief of Surgeon, under the alias Ray Jones. As Chief of Surgeon, Ray oversees all the surgical procedures in the hospital and maintains an organized, but hectic schedule at the hospital. All the while, Raphael has kept a close contact to the Silver Cross, keeping himself updated on the recent news about other angels and demons. He has heard of the sudden disappearance of Michael, and he knows that the other angels are worried about it, but Raphael believes that Michael is still alive and safe somewhere.
