It had been months since she had seen her sister, but she had been doing pretty well with out her. Human life was not so bad, although the blood lust was a struggle since she could not feed on any of the humans with out getting found out. Human food was often not enough, and she often resulted to drinking blood bags that she had taken from the hospital. At the moment however, she was incredibly alone and barely knew any one apart from her sister. Her sister that lived in a completely different city to her, who barely came to visit her. If she ended up like this for the rest of her immortal life, she would probably end up going mad.At least then she would have some one to talk to, and not just this endless silence she was in at the moment. Her emotions were unstable enough with everything going on with her father, so maybe seeing her sister for a few hours would help a tiny bit. She had been planning to stay at he sisters house for a few days, maybe more, but she knew she would have to stay one night in Las Vegas, before she would arrive at her sisters. Flying there would be shorter than driving, but it was more expensive and money was not something she had much of at the moment. Alita carried the last of her bags out of her flat, and to her car, which she managed to fit into the boot of her car. Closing the boot, she headed round to the front seat of the car, and got in. Alita had left her flat early morning, and arrived in Las Vegas in the early evening. Her sister had told her about a hotel that was not that far a drive from when she entered Las Vegas, and she found a car park that was only a short walk from the Hotel. After parking her car, she took a small bag out that contained some toiletries and a change of clothes, and made her way towards the hotel. She had a rough idea where she was going, but it would not be that hard to find it. It was not that hard, until she had completely lost her way. Her sister could of been a bit more specific as to where this hotel was, but she knew her sister was never good at that sort of thing. Pulling out her phone from her back pocket, she got up a map of the area she was in and began following that, not exactly watching where she was going. Not until she felt someone bump into her. Looking up, she saw man looking down at her. "I'm uh.. sorry about that. I wasn't exactly watching where I was going.."//Hope this is okay! Nykolae Demetri Sovereign

Getting out of the penthouse was getting easier and easier. Once he found the loopholes, anyway. It took a while but it was definitely paying off. After drinking a few blood bags from the fridge, which apparently Kaia's spell allowed, he set himself out onto the town. So he couldn't divulge in his favorite past time of drinking straight from the vein but he could at least enjoy his second favorite; sex. Las Vegas, even with the University not far away, was a hotbed of youth whether it be Bachorette parties, Ladies' Night, or just having fun, everywhere Nykolae went, beautiful women were bountiful. It wasn't like he would have any trouble picking any of them. With noble human blood pumping through his veins, Nykolae was always turning heads and he knew how to work the crowd. He was all suave and charm. He used to have the money to blow on them but since being with Kaia, he had to get more creative. After the confusion of sleeping with Kaia and wondering where exactly their relationship stood, Nykolae hadn't gotten anything. Like an addict in withdraw, he'd managed to sneak himself out of the penthouse and was leisurely strolling down the busy sidewalk of the strip.
He didn't pick right away. In fact, he was more enjoying his freedom than anything else. Constantly leashed by Kaia, Nykolae had felt suffocated and the tension between them was growing tighter and tighter, especially when he realized Kaia had placed a spell on the locket that didn't allow him to drink from anyone. The very locket was under his shirt, unusually warm against his chest, reminding him, like a collar, that he had restrictions to his freedom.
He crossed the street to the other side of a casino and his ears immediately picked up an angry retort from a large man who was bearing down on a girl who seemed genuinely sorry for something. He immediately recognized a were and hurried to the girl's side, stepping between the two and laughing casually at the were as he backed him up. "Heeey, sorry about my friend here. It's her first time in Vegas and she was so caught up in the glory that is this city that she didn't see you. Don't worry about it, dude. She's with me and I'll make sure she doesn't step out of line."
The were glared at Nykolae, raising a fist as if to punch him than thought better of it and just growled at the two of them before strolling off. Nykolae waited till he was out of ear shot before he turned back to her, flashing her his trademark smile. "Hey there! Sorry about that. Don't want to start a war in the middle of the-" He paused as her scent washed over him and he felt his heart race as he took her in, not bothering to hide the fact that his eyes looked her up and down. "Hybrid." he said, excitement rising up inside him. It wasn't often he came across others like him. He'd only dealt with vampires who either wanted to suck him dry, turn cold shoulders towards him or, on rare occasions, like Alex, actually want to make friends. But because of his fear of vampires, especially male vampires, it kept him from joining the other half of his blood. When he'd been younger, three male vampires had corned him and drank so much from him, he'd almost died. And he'd been powerless to defend himself. Even Kaia turning on him for his blood terrified him even though he knew she wouldn't kill him. He'd never had anyone to talk to that could understand the pain he was going through. Looking at her now, he felt a strange longing and it wasn't the longing that had gotten him to leave the penthouse in the first place.
He snapped out of his trance and took a step back from her, running a hand through his hair in a rather embarrassed gesture. "Sorry about that. Didn't mean to call you out like that. It's just... I haven't met many like you-like us." He let his words fall empty before he cleared his throat, attempting to clear the unease he felt. "So it looks like you're lost?" he asked her, indicating the map in her hand. "I've been here for a while. I might be able to help you, you know, if you want." he said with a simple shoulder shrug.

Alita, for a few moment, stood in front of the man in shock after realizing what he was. She had never really met many were people, so she had no idea how to really deal with them. She was about to try and make a run for it, but as she took a few steps back, another man stepped in front of her. Watching the man talk her out of the situation, she was tempted to run. Maybe tell her sister she couldn't make it, but she couldn't just leave this guy who got her out of this with out at least a thank you. Watching the man she walked into, Alita could see him growing ever more angry by the minute and she began to worry about the man that now stood in front of her. She had not met many were people in past, and had no idea how to deal with them. So, if he did attack the man who was trying to get her out of this situation, Alita would have no idea how to react. Or what to do. It was just her luck, however, that she would end up like this. If she had decided to stay home. Not visit her twin, then maybe she would not be in this situation. Her heart began to race when the were raced his fist, but was relieved when he changed his mind and left them with only growl. She was just glad that it was not a vampire that she had walked into. If she had, she would have probably been halfway back to her home by now. There was no way she was letting what happened in Italy, happen here. Vampires were not going to wreck her life again. The simple thought of it angered her, but that anger quickly faded when the man who had saved her turned to face her. Alita warmly smiled back, grateful for his help. Her smile soon turned into shock, when the conversation turned to what she was. She had been so used the the scent of hybrid, because of her sister, that she had not realized that he was one too. She hadn't expected it either, since vampires only wanted humans for their blood. She had never expected to see another hybrid, other than her sister. Although a surprise, she was excited that maybe some one would understand what it was like. Her sister understood, but she had a lot better control over her emotions and craving than what Alita did. For a few moments, there was silence. Alita had no idea what to say, or what to do. She watched him run his hand through his hair, as she felt her cheeks flush red.Silence always made her feel embarrassed, no matter what the situation was. "It's okay, honestly. I've never met another hybrid that is not my twin." Her voice was timid, as she looked up to him. "There aren't exactly many hybrids around. Since vampires only want humans for blood" Her thoughts went back to her father. Whether he had only wanted her mother for one thing, and did not care if he had children or not. She was about to zone out at the thought, but was distracted when she man began talking again. "I was looking for a hotel that's near here. As usual, I managed to get lost." Alita laughed softly. He felt an all too familiar tug in his gut when she blushed and he found himself thinking just how cute she was. She was easily charmed and was a damsel in distress to top it off. Even if Kaia found out he'd escaped the penthouse, meeting her was all worth it. Besides her, he'd only met one other hybrid and she hadn't been nearly as accepting of him as she was. He chuckled as he took a few moments to look around them at the mass and chaos of buildings that seemed to have no real organization to them. "Yeah, Vegas is good for that. There really is no rhyme or reason to these streets and buildings. Everything built up around the casinos so it's hard to give directions. What hotel are you looking for?" Maybe I could help?
He thought back to his earlier hunting skills. A lot them pertained to helping young women in distress. This particular meeting was starting to feel like de ja vu for when he'd first met Tessa. He'd met her outside a club, her friends had ditched her and she was looking for the nearest hotel. He'd offered to help her, gaining a semblance of trust but because of her Magi blood, had been unable to resist dragging her into the alley for a taste. Of course, the very thought made the locket against his chest burn and he was brought back to the present. Lucky for this girl, she wouldn't have to worry about him drinking from her. The spell wouldn't allow him. However, he wasn't looking to say good bye to her anytime soon. He was intrigued by her and it wasn't just because they shared the same curse of being hybrids.

As much as she probably shouldn't, there was no denying the fact that she found this man cute. He had stopped her getting beaten to a pulp by a were, and was now offering to help her find the hotel she was meant to be staying in. However, she was slightly suspicious of whether or not he was trying to take advantage of her vulnerable nature. She had experience that before, and had ended up trusting that guy way to easily. At least this time it was another hybrid. So maybe she could trust him. He was the only man that she had met, in a long while, that seemed to be understanding and kind. "No where specific. Just the nearest one. Since I am only staying here a night.." She said softly."I'm not exactly too fussy when it comes to where I sleep just for one night.."
Alita was slightly annoyed that she would soon have to leave this place, which meant probably not seeing him again. There was finally someone else who understood why she hated being what she was. She could barely fit into the human or vampire community, so she was forced to spend the majority of her time alone. Even her own father had not wanted her, and the only other family she had was her sister. Maybe getting to know this guy, however, would not make her feel so alone."I'm Alita Demetorio by the way..." She said shyly, glancing up at him."Do you live round here then?" Nykolae Demetri Sovereign,

Only a night... Part of him frowned while the other part was relieved. Whatever happened between the two of them today, he'd never have to see her again and yet, the part of him that was saddened by the news, didn't want to readily let go of someone he could ask questions and get to know. Ever since he'd been cast from the orphanage at a young age, Nykolae had been alone and, when his father's connection had been severed, Nykolae gave up on ever finding someone who he could connect with. He'd scoured the world searching for his father, the one person he felt had a deep connection with but as the years went by and he found no trace of his father, he began to get the ideas in his head that he had been unwanted; karma for one night of pleasure. So after the connection with his father was cut and he was left utterly alone, Nykolae fell into a state of reclusion, taking on a new face and turning into the person he was today; quick to anger, disobedient and flighty. Nykolae's aversion to rules was his main downfall. He did as he pleased, when he pleased and didn't care what anyone said or thought of him. He was sure that was the reason he landed, literally, in Kaia's lap and was also sure this was universal karma back to bite him in the ass. Either way, he was making the most of it and perhaps, even learning from his past mistakes. He'd met Alex, a young vampire who he'd formed a sibling like connection with and the both of them experienced new things together without the criticism of others. She got him to eat human food and he got her to partake of her first bite of fresh blood. Because of this step up, Nykolae was able to bare with the curse of the locket. Instead of starving himself and belittling himself by drinking Kaia's blood, he'd learned to stomach lots of different kinds of human food he only needed to call the front desk for. Because of Kaia's "detention", he had also stopped sleeping around. He hadn't felt the body of a woman beneath him since he'd accidentally bedded Kaia a few months ago. To someone standing as a bystander, Kaia had changed Nykolae's life for the better but Nykolae refused to admit it. His deep seated hatred for the woman who nearly killed him was a seed that had already sprouted. At this point, he needed to branch out to continue his growth and it was part of this unconscious thought that had him so keen on staying with her, no matter the costs.
"Yeah, I'm only staying in Vegas for awhile. I'm- staying with a relative." Okay, that's wasn't a lie. If he stepped back to look at the whole picture, she was the vampire original. Technically she created all vampires, even hybrids. "But I've been around her long enough that I might be able to find you a place that works for you, if you're interested." he said causally, stuffing his hands into his cargo shorts, his trademark smile spreading across his face once more as his green eyes met hers.

Even though she had always had some sort of family as a child, she had always felt incredibly alone. The ageing was a big part of that, as she never got the chance to make any friends her age, apart from her sister. After high school, he gave up with her education and most of the people in her age group had made friends and went off to college and university. Alita, however, ended up being chased out of her native country and forced to restart her whole life. All of that was down to vampires, and her urge to try and find her father. Now, possibly, there was someone who understood and she could talk to. Although, she knew that would not last long. Especially since she would have to leave the next morning. The world seemed to not want her to at least get close to someone she could trust. Had she done something wrong to deserve this treatment? "It's rare for a hybrid to have relatives.. Well, relative that are alive.." If he was actually staying with a relative, it would mean he had known at least one of his parents. Most hybrids parents were either dead, or the father wanted nothing to do with them. Their mothers rarely survived child birth, so it was not a surprise that most hybrids were alone. It simply surprised her that he had some sort of family alive. "Did your mom survive giving birth to you then? Not trying to sound rude when I say that.." She looked awkwardly down at her feet with her shy, slightly awkward, nature sneaking in. "But if you could help me find a place, then I would be really grateful." She said with a warm smile. "Do you often help random girls you just find in trouble, on the street?" Alita said, as she looked up at him and noticed smirking down at her. "What's with the smirk?" She questioned, rolling her eyes sarcastically. Nykolae Demetri Sovereign

He laughed and looked away from her, unable to help his smile growing larger. He decided to avoid her immediate question behind his smile. "No, I ripped my mother apart when I was born and the nuns who had helped me into this world, refused to allow her to turn. Imagine that. I've been alone my whole life. I was thrown out of the orphanage when I grew faster than the rest of the kids and when my blood lust became something dangerous. I spent the next several years searching for my father but I had no idea who he was or where to look." He paused, suddenly feeling as though he didn't want to reveal his troubled past to her. Instead, he changed the conversation to looking for the nearest hotel. "There's one just up the street and around the corner. Reasonably priced and across the street from this great diner!" Which was, in fact, the very same diner Alex had gotten him to eat a cheeseburger. He smiled secretly about that particular memory before turning back towards her. She had introduced herself and he'd rudely brushed over it. This time, he held out his own hand. "Nykolae Sovereign. It's a pleasure to meet you, Alita!"

"Don't even get me started on my father. Ass hole of a man really.." Even mentioning his name angered her. He had left my mother pregnant with twins that would kill her, and she could do nothig about it. She didn't even knew his name as the orphanage had no details on her family, apart from her mothers name. "Could not even be bothered to stick around when my mother fell pregnant with me and my sister.." Alita sighed, feeling anger bubble up inside of her. Revealing her whole history, however, to a random stranger was probably not the best idea. She hardly knew him, and he could be some sort of murderer for all she knew. Luckily, the conversation quickly changed back to the hotel. "Sounds good. You know, you didn't have to help me with all of this" Most people would of just left her to find her own way, which means she would end up getting completely lost. She had never exactly been many places then were she live, and for good reason. "Have you been to that diner before then" She asked. - So sorry this took so long and is so short. For all the similarities, she could have been talking about his own past. As far as he knew, his mother had been raped and then left to die when he tore himself out of her womb. He hadn't bothered to come back and find him, hadn't care he'd created life. And then when he went and got himself killed, he severed the blood connection that tied him to his father and he'd never felt such pain in his life. He was happy his father was dead. It was what he deserved. But it seemed she, also, wasn't looking to talk about her past as she switched subjects. One he was happy to switch to. He shrugged. "I don't mind. Gives me something to do besides wandering aimlessly around this city with nothing to do." he turned to her. "You want me to leave, I can. I mean, I didn't mean to make you uncomfortable..." He stopped in front of the hotel where a loud mouthed woman was talking angrily on her cell phone while a bellboy struggled to get suitcases through the swinging doors. Otherwise, the traffic in and out was quite light, suggesting there weren't many people staying here. Perfect. He hoped to pull the conversation away from her making him leave and answered her last question. "Yeah, I've eaten there. They make really good cheeseburgers." he said with a smile, remembering the first cheeseburger Alex had made him eat. Minus the necromancer who'd tried to kill them... --- Outfit

Alita had not wanted to make Nykolae feel like she wanted him to leave; she certainly did not want to end up alone again."I didn't mean it like that. It's just, I am not used to people being so nice towards me.." She spoke, softly. Maybe it was just because they were both hybrids that he was being so kind towards her, or maybe he was just ,genuinely, a nice guy. They then stopped outside the hotel, and she hoped he would not decide to leave her here now. She was sick and tiered of having to spend most of her time alone, at least now there was a chance that she would at least have a friend. It was a quiet place, and the only noise was coming from a woman yelling down the phone while the bellboy was struggling to carry her bags in. She could not help but giggle a little bit, but quickly turned her attention back to Nykolae. "Well, I could drop my things off and then we could head there for something to eat." Alita suggested. It was not normal for her want to spend time with anyone that she did not know well, in fear that they may end up attacking her. She did had every right to be suspicious though. Nykolae could be some crazed serial killer, for all she knew. He had prevented her from being beaten to a pulp and then found her a place to stay, so the least she could do was pay for him if she agreed to his offer. "I'll pay, it's the least I can do for helping you out"Nykolae Demetri Sovereign
