Power: Psychometry
Power Description: Nikolai can observe any object's recent (1-2 days) history. If a certain person makes continuous marks on this object (i.e. a person touching the door to their home every day), Nikolai can observe the history regarding that person from the object's point-of-view for as far back as the marks allow.
Power Limits: Nikolai must be touching the object with his bare skin, meaning no gloves or anything. Without specific marks, Nikolai can only get up to two days' of memory from an object. When searching for specific marks, he can only get as much as the mark allows. This can be as much as several months or years, to as little as a few seconds.

Personality
[attr="class","appcontent2"]Nikolai was always an emotional, but cut-off man, ever since his youth. More than any other member of the Belkov family, every single one of his actions and reactions had weighed heavily upon him morally, and this was always something that, more or less, controlled his character. He could never do something he viewed as wrong, like abandon his family, and because of this he could be viewed as a rather kind man. This is betrayed by how closed off he can be, however, as no one, family or not, has been let inside of his head. He never had the chance to properly develop emotionally as he experienced constant loss from a young age, and the first person who could ever get to open up was someone he watched die.
Any form of lying, whether it be false information or just withholding it, is a quick way to make it onto his shit list. Nikolai is an honest man, and expects honesty in return, mostly due to the fact that he doesn't have it in his character to lie. If Nikolai was close to someone who harmed another, he couldn't even lie to protect them - the truth would come out, but he would do all he could to keep them safe with his actions. Because of this strange character trait of his, he can be a hard person to judge, and he tends to avoid intimacy with anyone to keep himself from being the catalyst to whether they live or die.

History
[attr="class","appcontent2"]Nikolai is the youngest of the Belkov children, born in the year 1,004. All his life, he'd been a family-oriented man, and the entirety of his youth was about nothing if not family. Not long after he turned 11, however, when Fillip and Andrei left the family, he was struck with grief as the first step was taken in the breaking of the ties that made the Belkov family what it was. With the two eldest siblings out of the picture - for good - Nikolai was left with his sisters, Anya and Vary, both of whom went off to be married just a short while after Fillip and Andrei made their own exit. Little by little, Nikolai was losing his siblings, and as he lost each one, he grew to be more and more distant. While each of them went off to live their lives, Nikolai alone stayed behind to tend for the parents who raised him. He could never abandon them like his siblings did.
Roughly around the time he was 20, Nikolai saw Anya again, for the first time. She brought her husband and her daughter, and for the first time in several years, he felt legitimate happiness. This was short-lived, however, when Anya was attacked by something and it left her near-death. She was cared for by the Belkovs until she could return home with her husband, and, once again, it was the last time Nikolai would ever have seen his sister. Right about now, he'd grown to be used to the disappearances, and while he knew Anya was going to end up leaving again, it threw him into yet another emotional rut. Still, no matter how many times his siblings could leave, he continued to care for his parents like the good son he was. Family first, always.
Five years had passed since the last time Nikolai had seen any of his siblings. His parents were only getting older, and caring for them alone was getting rough on the boy. He did everything he could to provide for them, maintain the home, put food in their stomachs, and bathe them when they needed it. But another cold winter was coming, and the boy needed to gather all the firewood he could to keep them warm for as long as possible, so he was out later than usual one night - a night that would change him forever.
The sun had long since gone down, and the only light-source Nikolai had was a torch that he kept fastened to his wheelbarrow. He'd made countless trips back and forth retrieving wood, but he knew that it was only going to get colder and he still didn't have enough. So, for the umpteenth time, Nikolai headed to the woods to retrieve more firewood. The difference, this time, however, was that something whisked out the flame on his torch and attacked him, taking him down with relative ease and drinking the blood from his wounds - it was a vampire, and a hungry one at that. This vampire, a woman by the name of Svetlana, tore him apart and just about killed him. She looked down at his broken body, and as he felt his life slipping away, his eyes rose to meet her, and it was as though she could feel all the sorrow he'd experienced in his life. She took pity on him, turning him not long after she'd fed. He was well within an inch of his life, and died within the hour. When he awoke, he was a vampire.
Svetlana replaced Nikolai's siblings in many ways. She was less of a mother, and more of a sister, a woman he grew to adore very much. She brought him his first "meal" not long after he turned and convinced him that it would be okay, standing beside him every step of the way. She even began to help him take care of his parents during their last years, and comforted him after their passing. Were it not for her, Nikolai would have likely been driven mad from the loneliness of constant loss.
After the death of his parents, Nikolai set about traveling the world with Svetlana. The two were, somehow, present at every major war recorded in history since the boy's birth. Why? Simple - feeding grounds. Easy feeding, and a lot of the prey were well near death to begin with. That, and no one would question the body count when it was growing every day regardless of a vampire presence. It made life easy, despite the difficulty presented by a lack of day-travel. The year 1800 came, however, and after so long, Nikolai and Svetlana decided it would be wise to invest in a trip overseas to the Americas.
The Civil War of America was one Nikolai and Svetlana both took part in. Like every war in Europe, they'd feed on the casualties, helping to end the lives of those in pain, dying slowly. To them it justified what they were doing - but not everyone saw it that way. They must have rubbed someone the wrong way, because shortly after the start of the Civil War - not long after the battle of Lexington and Concord, in fact - the two were attacked by a group of vampires, and Svetlana was killed before Nikolai's very eyes. She was dismembered, with every bit of her being burned to ashes, and the boy remained helpless. They attempted to move on to him, but somehow, he managed to break free, fight them off, and escape.
With the death of the woman he clung to, the youngest Belkov was lost for over a century. He roamed the Americas every day of his life, experiencing every war and technological advancement firsthand. Now, 2015, he eventually settles in Las Vegas, simply because he's too tired to keep going. Part of him wants to end everything - why does he need to be immortal? A millennium, all to himself, and everyone he'd ever loved was gone.
