Dragging her feet up the shadowed sidewalks of Manhattan, Cece Sutton was tired. Her body ached from the challenge of dance and the tortures of the change she had been forced to endure every month. It was the most excruciating pain she had experienced in her lifetime, like thousands of matches had been struck against her skin and left burning until there was nothing left but seared flesh against white hot bones. Cece wished for death in those moments, she expected death in those moments; she was certain that she wasn’t strong enough to endure the complete restructuring of her body. Apparently, her body had different thoughts in mind, because after every moon, Cece picked herself up, dragged herself back to her apartment and waited to do it all over again. Three times she had trudged back to her apartment, shaking and cold from a night she tried desperately to forget. Three times she had begged for death as her bones snapped and her skin sprouted more fur than any human person would ever need. But...she wasn’t exactly human anymore, was she? Not entirely anyway.
Month four was coming fast, Cece wasn’t ready. She never was.
The dance studio was only a few blocks from her apartment, it was hardly worth the cost of an Uber, but on days like this, she considered it. Ultimately, the wait time was longer than even her slowest trek home, so the woman chose to walk. The cool night air was comforting against her muscles as she darted across a rumbling intersection against the light. In one hand her phone buzzed and blinked with the flurrying messages and notifications of Cece’s normal life. Messages flew in from friendsshe had been avoiding for weeks, blowing them off with carefully typed text messages that made it sound like she was just the flaky, irresponsible Cece she had always been, instead of the half monster whose life was falling apart in horrible flames.
Sophie: R u comin? U said u wud. Cece: I’ll try. Joey in town, he wants to c me. Sophie: OMG Cece! Really!? Wut did he say?!
Deft fingers flew across the screen with skill, quickly devolving into the story of Joey, his jet, and his rich uncle with a yatch. Sophie was alway easily distracted by gossip. There wasn’t a chance in hell that she was about to face everyone; there was too much risk involved.
Cece walked with her head down, watching the words appear on the screen quicker than she could get the responses out, the city was alive that night. Social media was the escape she sought after, the only way to block out the smells that three months ago, she would have barely noticed. Cheap cologne of the ghetto looking man across the street, the sickly sweet perfume of the presumed hooker on the corner. Who the hell was she expecting to entice with that monstrosity of an outfit? Cece could smell everything.
Darting around a homeless man that smelled like he had been dead for weeks, Cece crossed the street quickly, ignoring the lazy honks and obscenities it brought. Safely on the other side, she paused for a moment, spelling out a lengthy text message and digging into her gym bag for her bottle of water. Drake Bellatorem Charlemagne

For once, he'd grown tired of his human body and had taken to the streets that night in his wolf form. Like a black hell hound, he was able to stay to the shadows and remained unnoticed, which was fine for him. It was easier to find his "prey" when he remained unnoticed. He cut through the park, startling a family of ducks who quacked angrily at him before he disappeared down the bike path. Across the creek, the endless smells of the city pounded his senses. This new world was certainly different from the one in which he'd roamed as a wolf. So much of the world had been uninhabited and the sights and smells were all virgin, nature at it's purest. Drake was sure that these sensations were his downfall into becoming the animal and leaving his humanity behind. He'd truly become one with the curse that had been set on him by the Magi. Nevertheless, when he'd gotten his hands on the moonstone and returned to his human form, he'd been overjoyed and vowed to never return to his animal side. But it was times like now, he actually longed for his wolf, longed to run on four legs and become a ghost of the night.
It was this crossing across the park that he caught her scent. Every night, Drake had been going around the city recruiting lone werewolves to bring into his pack. It was only a small step towards his ultimate goal of eradicating all the Magi, first from the city, than the world. They were a plague upon the land and were rising too high in power. He wanted revenge for what they had done to him and he didn't care if he had to kill all of them to get that.
He changed his direction and sat down next to a park bench along the edge of the park and watched her cross the street. He perked his ears up, smelling no Alpha scent on her but he felt a bit of mischief rise up inside him. He wanted her to prove herself, whether she knew she was or not. When she stopped to dig around in her bag, he pulled his ears back, fluffed up his fur along his ruff and growled at her, hoping to gain her attention to where he remained seat next to the bench. The ball was in her court now.

Three months ago, Cece would have made the mad dash home, showered and changed into something that her father would have commented on as being too revealing, short, or anything combination of the two. She would have filled herself with coffee or Red Bull and met Sophie at the bar for a night of dancing, gossip, and whatever boy would give her attention in that moment. It seemed the natural progression of things for her life to change, she had spent almost every night out with Sophie before starting at NYU, but steadily, Cece found that she couldn’t keep up with the girl like she used to - several hours of dance a day would do that to a person. After she was attacked, it just seemed normal to stop it all together. She couldn’t risk anyone finding out what had really happened to her, it was just easier to keep to herself. There was too much to learn about her new found monster powers and the transformation left her broken and shaken, there wasn’t anyone Cece wanted to see. Rifling through her bag with one hand and trying to type out another message in the other, Cece cursed herself for carrying so much with her on a regular basis. “Shit,” she huffed as a set of keys, a tube of chapstick, and a rogue stick of deodorant tumbled from her bag. Kneeling quickly to gather the items before they skittered into the darkness, a new smell overcame her. Cece paused for a moment, her brow furrowing in confusion, it was unlike any scent she had come across before. A slow growl pulled her attention to the bench and her eyes grew wide and her breath caught in her chest. Since the attack, Cece had gone out of her way to avoid the canine population just to be sure she wasn’t going to find herself back in the hospital. “Nice doggie,” she coaxed, pulling herself upright slowly, forgetting about the contents of her bag quickly. Was this the ‘dog’ that bit me? She wondered, her chest heaving with short, nervous breaths. It didn’t smell like other dogs, but then, she asked that same question about every animal she had come across these last three months. The demon bulldog downstairs, the golden retriever that had followed through Central Park, even the yappy chihuahua that barked in the window the a townhouse on her walk home. Any of them could have been the thing that had destroyed her life - well, probably not - but, how would she know? No. It couldn’t have been the monster that bit her. The full moon was weeks away and, like her, her attacker would look human in that moment. In the days after the second full moon, Cece had done some research into her...condition...trying to learn real facts and not what Stephanie Meyer thought would make little girls swoon. There were a few things that Cece knew to be true (according to sonowyoureawolf.com): Werewolves could only change on a full moon, Werewolves were allergic to silver, and Werewolves were deadly. There was no way this dog, or the demon bulldog, had been the one to her into a monster. Cece stared at the dog fearfully, worried that if she looked away even for a second, it would attack. “Easy doggie, I don’t have anything to eat,” she told it, edging away slowly, hoping to put as much distance between her and it as possible. She would put enough distance between them and then she would run like hell. That was the way to do it, right? Outrun a dog? Drake Bellatorem Charlemagne

Nice doggie? He felt a grinding of irritation. Did he look like a damn dog? Just to prove himself, he snarled at her, showing pearly white teeth and finally come to stand on his feet. He'll show her a dog! For each step she took backwards, he took one forward, ears flat on his head and fur standing on end. So far, he wasn't convinced she was good enough to become part of his pack. In fact, she seemed rather oblivious to the power surging within her. He almost wished he'd bitten her himself. He'd left his moonstone buried in his safe place and had no way to return to his body any time soon. She would just have to deal with him the way he was for the present moment. However, he needed a way to motivate her to accept her inner werewolf.
Easy doggie, I don’t have anything to eat. He didn't need anything to eat, just something to bite! With a growl, he surged forward and, with speed only the werewolf Original possessed, latched his teeth around her thigh, surprised at his sudden excitement as her blood rushed into his mouth. His sister's constant training of bringing him back from being an animal luckily kicked in and he didn't decide to kill her. Instead, he unlatched from her leg and jumped a few paces back before turning back towards her with a challenging growl, daring her to do something about him, an almost mocking way he held himself with his tail lashing and what could only be described as a wolfish grin. Come on, he thought, frustrated. Enlighten me.

Cece’s eyes grew to the size of dinner plates as the dog snarled and rose to its hind legs. That was definitely not a dog. “No, oh god no,” she practically whimpered, her chest heaving with hard, shallow breaths. How was that possible? It wasn’t a full moon, she couldn’t be standing there like this if it was a full moon. Could she change outside of a full moon? Another wave of fear washed through her, maybe she wasn’t safe in her daily life; maybe at any moment she could be forced into the monster that she had discovered herself to be. Tears welled in her eyes, three months ago that dog would have been nothing more than a dog and she would have walked on by blissfully unaware of the the things that go bump in the night. Three months ago, her entire life was ahead of her; now, she was about to be eaten by a werewolf only a few blocks from her apartment. It wasn’t fair, she had been kind throughout her life….for the most part, anyway. She volunteered as a dance instructor for little kids, she donated money - granted, it was her parent’s money - what more could she be expected to do?! Why was this happening to her? She hadn’t asked for any of this, she hadn’t been given a choice; Cece wanted nothing more than to go back to her old life, why couldn’t this, this, this...thing leave her alone? “Stay away from me,” she yelled, with a shaky voice, “Stay the fuck away from me.” Cece tried digging into her bag again, as she attempted to put more distance between them, she had pepper spray in there somewhere. Would pepper spray even stop a werewolf? She needed to try something, this thing was going to kill her otherwise. It growled again and in a flash, Cece screamed in pain as jaws clamped around her leg. Instinctively, she threw her fists as the creature, her nails digging into whatever she could get into contact with before it released her. Her body shook and her vision blurred as the heat rose from her stomach, “Please,” Cece cried with tears streaming down her cheeks. She knew this feeling, she had come to dread it in the last three months. Not now, she couldn’t do it now. She couldn’t handle it now. It was too soon, she had just endured the change. She couldn't do it, not again. “Fuck you!” she screamed at the werewolf wanting nothing more than to chew its stupid, almost smug face into bloody strips. Limping away quickly, Cece stumbled roughly across the pavement and lost control. Another scream erupted from a deepest part of her lungs and she swore she saw red. Her body contorted violently, the sound of her own bones breaking blocking out the sounds of New York nighttime. Hair sprouted from every part of her body, her muscles, - weary from dance - grew and extended, and her fingers quickly grew into claws. Screams of agony quickly shifted to growls as her lips shifted into a powerful muzzle. Cece’s transformation ended quickly, she rolled over growling angrily and barking non sensibly. Panic rose in her as she thrashed trying to gain control of her new limbs, No, no, no no. Her eyes settled on the other werewolf and her teeth bared, snarling angrily, he did this to her. Was this the one that had changed her in the first place? Did he do this to her?! Cece couldn’t think, she couldn’t stop, she lunged. Teeth bared, claws swiping, trying to make contact with anything in reach. Drake Bellatorem Charlemagne

He hadn't expected her reaction so quickly but his excitement rose when her body writhed in pain as her transformation took over. It was like being back in the old days when he'd bitten the first werewolves. Having spent nearly five hundred years utterly alone, Drake longed for others like he and his sister. The first person he'd bitten had died of infection before they'd completed their first transformation. However, the second person he'd bitten successfully completed their transformation before committing himself to suicide by diving head first off a cliff. But no matter how many people he turned, the joy of watching their bones break and reshape as their bodies became the very wolf he was, was almost seductive to him. Though he hadn't actually injected the werewolf venom into her blood stream, he still got a thrill out of watching her change and then attack him with almost blinding rage. Inside, he was laughing as he easily dodged her attack. She was strong but because her Sire had left her to her own devices instead of teaching her what she needed to know, she was unskilled and clumsy. She would never be able to land a blow on him and she'd easily tire herself out. But in the meantime, he wanted to have some fun. If she entertained him long enough, he could see himself inviting her into the pack. She had incredible strength and with a little practice and training, she would be a perfect asset.
With a mocking bark, he directed her attention back to him as he dashed back into the dark park, using his black pelt to keep out of her vision. She would need to use her sense of smell to find him. He only needed to make it back to his moonstone so he could transform back. Thinking back to Roxy, when she'd touched it, she'd also been forced out of her world form, even though she could change back at will unlike him. That could be his ticket to getting her off her anger kick. She merely needed to touch it and she'd have a flawless, painless, transformation back to human. He grinned. Come on, mutt. He sneered to himself. Follow your master to your destiny.

Snapping jaws came up empty as Cece skid to a stop across the pavement, her new muzzle barely brushing the damp wood of the bench that was suddenly at eye level. With a frustrated bark, she spun herself around, her body quaking angrily as she worked to get her bearings. The change was jarring, it always was, but Cece felt different this time. Her mind had never been as clear as it was in that moment, never had she rose from the change with such purpose, but instead tried to wander aimlessly, fighting against the human side of herself that clawed against that the cage the wolf had trapped her in. Her human mind was quiet now, lost in the anger of the animal that possessed her body. Her blood pulsed quickly through sensitive ears, picking up nearly every sound for several blocks around her and each smell danced around her nose, begging for attention, but her mind was set on one thing: his blood. His blood for hers. He had made her bleed and she wanted nothing more than to return the favor. Her fur rose on end as she pawed the ground, as a low, rumbling growl erupted from her chest. Cece started at the werewolf with furious eyes, her chest heaving with hard, shallow breaths that puffed from her nose like a bull. He was faster than she was, too fast to catch outright, Cece had barely even seen him move before almost taking a bite out of the park bench. She was going to have to be smarter than that, but her mind was clouded. Blood, blood, blood. Kill the fucker. The wolf sang evilly to her, twinges of pink and red blurring the sides of her vision. Logic was beyond her now, all she could see was him. In a moment, he was gone, rushing toward the park faster than she could react. Without thinking, she sprinted after him, paying no mind to the life that moved around her. She watched his back, focusing on the darkness of his fur to keep him in her sights long enough to get close, but immediately, he disappeared into the darkness. Cece slowed to a stop, barking at the darkness as she spun this way and that, searching for the werewolf she had been following. How the hell was she supposed to find him, now? Whining softly, she peered helplessly into the darkness before the wind shifted and drew her attention. Cece growled low and prowled forward, her nose sniffing along the ground trying to catch that scent again. It had been the smell that caught her attention in the first place, the one she had never smelled before. It was him. A triumphant howl echoed into the night as she darted forward clumsily, losing the scent repeatedly only to catch it again. Confident she had found the path, Cece prowled forward, stalking a twitching bush with fire in her eyes. It was him, she was sure of it. Crouching low, she pounced with wide jaws hoping to make contact with the werewolf that had enraged her and not the raccoon that she hadn’t noticed crossing her path. Drake Bellatorem Charlemagne

He was able to keep himself downwind of her, using the direction of the wind to blow his scent around. He bounded from corner to corner in a zig-zag pattern, hoping to throw her off. When he finally came to a stop, he was able to watch her blindly trail after him. He frowned and pulled his ears back as her barking echoed across the park. She was about as blundering as a pup and seemed unable to incorporate all her skills at the same time. In the darkness, she should have automatically switched to her hearing and smell but with all the noise she was making, she was forced to rely on her sense of smell but with the breeze picking up, it was almost impossible to pin point an exact location. He could see her potential in just the sheer determination she held but she was a long way from being an asset. But Drake had committed too much time, at this point, to push her away. He turned away from watching her and approached his spot by the fenced off group of trees and slid underneath, finding the spot he'd buried the moonstone and ripped up the still fresh earth.
Once the chain of the necklace was firmly in his mouth, he ducked back under the fence and turned towards her direction, waiting for her to catch up to him. If he really hadn't wanted her to find him, she never would have. He left enough scent down for any amateur to find him. He sat down, the giant moonstone glittering in his mouth under the full moon. It was his only way back to his human form and he treated the thing higher than his own heart. He would give away his heart before the moonstone. He'd searched the ends of the earth for a way to return to his human form and this had been his only answer. Only he, his sister and Roxy had touched the thing and now, he planned to use it with this woman to convince her to join his pack. He could teach her less painless transformations by accepting what she had become and give her a place in the world. First, she needed to accept him as Alpha...

Cece pounced with the full weight of her body, vaulting herself into the bushes with her teeth bared and ready to tear into anything she came into contact with. Unfortunately, her confidence had failed her and instead of dropping in on her werewolf target, she found herself sinking her sharp teeth into the soft flesh of a raccoon. The creature hardly appreciated the gesture, the clawing and biting a clear indication of its irritation and desire to survive. Rancid blood filled her mouth and Cece released the animal immediately with a violent shake of her head in the hopes of avoiding further damage caused by its tiny claws. Growling furiously at the tiny animal, she stalked the raccoon for a moment, the wolf urging her to kill it and the blood clouding her judgement. She lost sight of the werewolf she had been searching for as all of her attention settled on the tiny creature. Two swipes of her much larger paws and the raccoon was nothing more than a corpse. Padding forward to sniff carefully, Cece could clearly tell that she had been duped. The raccoon smelled nothing of the werewolf she had been searching for, how could she have been distracted so easily? Bored with her kill, Cece again pushed her nose to the ground trying desperately to pick up the scent that she was looking for, but everything smelled. Wandering aimlessly for a moment, she caught a flash of the smell like a beacon in her senses. Cece sank low to the ground, prowling forward as quietly as she could manage with two extra legs she wasn’t used to having to worry about. She maneuvered through the park slowly, deliberately, unwilling to make the raccoon mistake again. She would find him. Fortune was on her side that night. As the scent became stronger, the looming werewolf came into view and it was all that Cece could do not to charge at him with claws and teeth at the ready. She had tried that once before, he was too fast, but she was cunning. Slinking into the darkness, she stalked him from the bushes. Creeping forward gently, she hoped to catch him off guard. Without hesitation, she jumped from the bushes aiming for his neck. Drake Bellatorem Charlemagne

He closed his eyes as her scent grew stronger. He flicked an ear as he heart a leaf rustle among the undergrowth and he counted the seconds till she leaped from the bushes, timing his reaction perfectly. Keeping the moonstone out of reach of her teeth, he allowed her to latch her muzzle against the thick fur along his throat and purposely threw his body to the side so she stood above him. He grinned internally at her sheer ferocity fueled by simple anger. With the right training, she could certainly be a force to be reckoned with. He waited a few moments for her to feel as though she had succeeded before he brought his hind legs up, intending to force her off of him by throwing his weight into her gut. At the same time, since she only had a hold of his fur, he was able to twist his neck and use his muzzle to push against her own neck. He hoped with the force of his head against her neck and his feet in her gut, he'd be able to flip her over and then it would be a simple matter to get the moonstone around her neck, turning her back into a human. He was banking on the painless transition back into human to calm her down and get her to listen to him. If not, he'd at least have her in a compromising position where he could declare himself Alpha over her.

Cece snarled as she dove toward the source of her frustration, the wolf pushing her forward waiting to make contact with flesh and fur. Her jaws clamped down as his fur brushed her teeth and her body quaked with anticipation. Growling angrily, she managed to maneuver herself above him successfully and a victorious pang twinged across her muscles. Cece nearly released his neck out of sheer excitement, but she caught herself and hunkered down; he would pay for biting her, all of this could have been avoided if he had just let her go about her business and make her way home. She hadn’t wanted to hurt anyone, but the wolf had other ideas and this new werewolf had left her with no other choice. Now he would have her to deal with and right now, she was winning. With the intention of ripping his throat out, Cece tugged against him hard before feeling his body move in response. Her reaction time wasn’t fast enough and his feet came into contact with her stomach as his head turned forcing her jaws to open with a surprised whimper. With her coordination shot, Cece fell roughly onto her back and she stared up at him with wide eyes. Despite her inexperience, she knew that she was in trouble. Reality settled in, there was no way she would be able to beat him, not without a miracle of some sort. The fight seemed to go out of the wolf, Cece’s human mind felt clearer, no longer blocked by the rage of the wolf had been thriving on. The wolf knew the position she was in, better than Cece seemed to herself, he could easily overpower her and if he felt the desire to, he would kill her. There was no time to consider her options, Cece yelped as she felt something settle around her neck with a weight on her chest. Panic rose within her for a moment before it felt as if her body was being engulfed in warm sunlight. Her body contorted, her fangs shortened to teeth and her muscles returning to the form she was familiar with. Her claws returned to carefully manicured fingernails and the fur that coated her body disappeared into the skin she had so desperately missed. She had tensed for the pain, the excruciating, seemingly endless pain that she had learned to expect over the last three months, but there was nothing, nothing but a comforting hum that seemed to pulse across her skin. Before she could process, Cece found herself - her human self - sprawled across the grass, dirt clinging to her hands and feet. Her chest heaved quickly, panic gripping her as she sat up straight, the pendant jumping against her skin slightly. What the hell had just happened? Cece’s hands went to her neck, the necklace still hung around it heavily and she gasped softly. Was this what turned her back? Was it dangerous? If it could make her human, could it turn her back into that monster? Grabbing the pendant, she ripped it over her head like it was on fire, pushing it away from her roughly. For a moment, Cece expected her body to change again, but nothing followed. Nothing made sense anymore, she wasn't safe anymore. The moon didn't decide her fate, she could change at any moment. The wolf would always be there, ready to burst forth and take over. He had shown her that. Wide eyes returned to the werewolf, confusion mixed with fear evident as tears threatened to spill, “Please, don’t kill me.”Drake Bellatorem Charlemagnenotes - You don't at all! Drake was genuinely surprised that his plan worked exactly the way he wanted it to. She lay naked beneath him, her eyes wide with shock but not pain or fear. He stood on her chest, large paws, careful not to scratch her. Please don't kill me. Mentally, he snorted at her ridiculous pleas before he got off of her, standing beside her and cocking his head to the side like a pet dog would. He pointed his ears forward and his golden eyes watched her carefully. He nosed the moonstone laying against her chest and made a low growl at her. Fortunately for her, he couldn't just shift back and forth when he wanted to and seeing the moonstone in someone else's hands made him anxious. Once he felt her wolf declare obedience to him, he felt it was safe enough to remove the moonstone and took the necklace gently in his jaws and pulled it up and over her head. He stepped back a few paces from her and nosed the chain up and over his own neck and like a curtain being pulled down, he returned to his human form. Before he made any introductions, he leaned over the fence to the grove of trees and pulled out his clothes, tossing her his jacket before he pulled his jeans on.
Once he was dressed, he stood above her, reaching a hand down to her with a smirk. "My name is Drake and whether you realize it or not, you've just joined my pack. Welcome to the family. Don't worry, I won't hurt you." he teased her, dark eyes dancing with a hidden joke she was sure to not understand.

Wide eyes watched him carefully, keeping herself as still as possible because even breathing might have gotten her killed. The world felt like a nightmare in that moment, she was staring down the muzzle of a werewolf who was poised to tear her apart, after being forced to change outside of the full moon. Two hours ago, Cece wouldn’t have thought it was possible; her internet history had failed to mention that there was more to her condition than what the legends said. The werewolf moved off her and Cece breathed a soft sigh of relief before his teeth approached her once more, this time aiming for her neck. She gasped and squeezed her eyes shut tightly, silently reciting whatever prayer she could remember from the last time her parents had dragged her to church. Cece was going to die that night, stark naked, in the darkness, she was going to die. Miraculously, his teeth made no contact with her flesh, instead pulling the necklace over her head. Cece released the breath that she hadn’t realized that she had held, there was something about that necklace, what was it? She didn’t have long to wonder, as he managed to get it over his head, her questions were answered. That necklace had the power to turn her back into human. Cece watched in horror as the werewolf transformed into a human man, suddenly, she felt more vulnerable than before. Pulling, her knees up, she tried to cover her nakedness as she stared at the man that she was still not confident wasn’t going to kill her. She wanted to be home in her bed. She wanted a hot shower, trashy reality TV and a glass of wine big enough for her to think it was entertaining. She wanted to be as far away from the present moment as humanly possible. Cece searched for words, something to say to break the silence, but he turned from her. She should run. put as much distance between this psychopath and her as possible. Could he outrun her in his human form? Her stomach flipped at the stipulation. Normal people didn’t have forms. The man turned back toward her and she flinched as he threw his jacket. For a moment, she hesitated before the cool night breeze picked up, highlighting her nakedness; Cece pulled it on quickly, still watching him carefully. 'My name is Drake and whether you realize it or not, you've just joined my pack. Welcome to the family. Don't worry, I won't hurt you.'His words registered slowly, taking their time to process and she stared at the hand he offered to her. “What?” she asked, panic rising in her voice as her eyes moved from his hand to his face. His pack? No. No way. “You’re insane,” she told him, scrambling off the ground. Taking two steps away from him, Cece glanced over her shoulder carefully, debating making a run for the nearest street. It couldn’t be that far to the street, even at night there was always enough traffic to catch someone’s attention. Drake Bellatorem Charlemagne

He crouched down in front of her, a menacing figure even at this height. "As insane as being able to shift without the full moon?" he asked her, quirking an eyebrow as he pointed to the sliver of a moon above them. "Tell me. What did you think you were going to do with your life? Pretend once a month never happened and continue on with your life? How long did you think it would take till you made a mistake, or another human made a mistake and you found yourself with blood on your hands. A werewolf without a Sire is dangerous and since you're living on my territory, I would, normally, seek you out and kill you. I don't tolerate rogue werewolves who don't know how to control themselves." he paused here, allowing her some ample time to consider his words before he smirked. "Just so happens I'm in need of pack members and you're tenacity excited me. You hate shifting and yet, out of pure anger, you shifted against the full moon and came after me. What I can offer you is simple; a family that can help you control your shifts and also make shifting on the full moon less painful and I can also offer you protection. You were bitten by another rogue werewolf who probably had no control and because of that, he's lose in the city. He'll be dealt with but in the meantime, there are others you'll have to worry about, namely humans. I won't force you do anything you don't want to but you have to obey what I say and when the time comes, I'll require your help." he paused. No need to go into full detail of his plans at this point in time. He'd only overwhelm her and he needed her to accept him first. "Otherwise, you can go about your own life and we'll always be here for you when you need us." He offered her his hand, trying his hand at a smile. "Simply denying this ever happened will only create further problems for you. Just accept there are others out here who just want to help you."

Cece watched him carefully, he was no less threatening as a man than he was as a wolf. Her body was tensed to run at the slightest notion of danger, she was not going to change again; she wasn’t confident she would survive another change. The necklace had made her shift back painless, almost enjoyable, but it was around his neck now; there was no doubt in her mind that the pendant’s effects were only temporary. Her eyes followed his finger, “I...I….didn’t know,” she stammered nervously, staring at the moon. There was so little she knew about herself now, so little that she could call upon. The internet was hardly a reliable source of information and Cece had cleared her browsing history so many times, it probably looked exactly like what she was trying to avoid, like she was hiding something. There had been no one she could ask, Cece didn’t need to brush up on her supernatural folklore to know what they would do to her if they discovered what she was. There was a reason no one walked around shouting it for all to hear. He kept talking and she forced her eyes to return to him, pulling them away from the moon’s mesmerizing draw. The words made her flinch slightly and she looked down, that had been exactly what she had been doing since she discovered what she was. Each morning after the full moon, Cece would scurry back to her apartment, lock herself in and tell herself that she would eventually wake up from the nightmare. It had been working just fine until he came along and ruined everything. “I’m not dangerous,” Cece spoke up finally, her voice soft, hesitant, “I haven’t hurt anyone. I wouldn’t...” Could she say that anymore? Moments ago she wanted nothing more than to tear his throat out. She had actively tried to kill him. The wolf wanted his blood for what he had done, could she really trust herself anymore? ‘...I would, normally, seek you out and kill you.’Cece’s eyes flicked up and her blood went cold, she stepped away from him once more, her fear renewed. “I….haven’t done anything wrong,” she told him, “No one knows about me.” She had protected herself, she hadn’t told anyone what happened. A series of rabies shots had been the only result of her being bitten; Cece hadn’t told anyone anything. His smirk made her uncomfortable, like there was some joke that she wasn’t understanding. A flash of anger sparked at his smirk, frustration bubbling, “You bit me.” She felt like a science experiment, like he was poking at her until he got the results that he wanted. He wasn’t interested in her, not really, he was interested in the monster, “You made me….it. You made it angry.” The wolf had gone after him, that wasn’t her. She had wanted to run, but the wolf had had other ideas. The mention of the wolf that had bit her made her jaw clench tightly, hatred and anger flaring in her eyes. She had had dreams about meeting the one that had done this to her, vivid dreams of tearing the creature apart with her bare hands and leaving it’s pelt on her floor. Cece never wanted to watch something die more than the monster that had stolen her life. ‘Just accept there are others out here who just want to help you.’“Will you kill him?” she shot back, meeting his eyes for the first time, “The thing that did this to me?” She didn’t want a family, she wanted payback. She wanted whatever it was that did this to her to suffer the excruciating pain he had forced her to endure every month. Drake Bellatorem Charlemagne
