Nikolai awoke to the sound of an alarm ringing throughout his bedroom. 7:30 PM, the sun was going down, meaning this was the appropriate time for him to bathe and get dressed if he wished to venture outdoors. With a grunt, he slapped a hand down onto his alarm clock in an attempt to shut it off. He missed the button several times, eventually getting fed up, so he broke the damn clock. Plastic shrapnel shot out around the room, and he smiled, enjoying the comfort of his bed for another few minutes. Did he need the sleep? No. But it felt nice to laze about once every couple hundred years. Still, he needed to get up, and so he did. Groaning, Nikolai forced himself out of bed and went about his "morning" rituals - cleaning himself, staring at a a pendant he was given by Svetlana, getting dressed, watching the News, boring stuff. Once he was all ready, he left home and hit the road. The Red Velvet Kiss was a place he'd been hearing a lot about lately through word-of-mouth. Apparently it was some sort of "club" for the "supernatural," a sort of safe haven for his kind. Naturally he went about checking it out, as maybe he could find leads on the bastards who took the woman he loved. When he neared the establishment, he parked his vehicle and headed for its entrance. A hand came up to the door, and as he touched it he was hit by a flash of images - nothing new for the Vampire, honestly - that he was initially going to shrug off. That is, of course, until he caught a glimpse of a very familiar face. In fact, he didn't just catch one glimpse, he caught several. Andrei? he thought to himself, before touching the door again and looking for only memories of his older brother. He saw the man frequenting this facility, and not just recently... it had been a long time. Nikolai wasn't alone. Andrei was alive. Fuming, Nikolai entered the establishment, looking for the area Andrei spent most of his time at. The earliest memory from the door told him Andrei had left, so he was going to surprise his brother with a little "guest" appearance at the place he seemed to love. So many thoughts and feelings were racing through the Vampire's head as he took a seat at the bar. He had a lot of things he needed to get off his chest... 1000 years worth of things. He didn't care how long it took for Andrei to show his face, he'd already been waiting a millennium. // Andrei Belkov

Andrei had been awake and running errands since noon thanks to the handy daylight ring his sire had given him centuries ago. He had been avoiding the club during night hours for a while now–not wanting to come face to face with the clubs owner that just so happened to be his ex–but today he had no choice but to go in when he realized he was missing a very important folder that he knew would be sitting on his desk in the club and it couldn't wait until tomorrow morning. With a sigh of defeat he headed for the club, hoping he'd beat Liv there and that he would cross paths with her while he was there. If he ran into her he had no idea what his reaction would be, anger to the point of hurting her or sadness that would pull at his heart once again.
When he walked up to the club he was let in immediately, everyone too afraid to even speak to him as he walked through the doors. He was perusing through a folder filled with paperwork as he walked through the club, too busy taking in the details contained within it to look up but it didn't matter because people practically leapt out of his way for fear of having their hearts ripped out of their chest and used as a juice box to cure his insatiable thirst.
Lucky for them, they were all quick enough today and Andrei had to resort to the bars stock of blood and the bar tender knew it too so as soon as he made it to the bar there was a glass of warm blood held out for him to take. With drink in hand and his eyes still darting across pages he then made his way to the part of the club where the offices were hidden away but he was halted in his actions by a newly hired guard that bumped his shoulder. Andrei's eyes quickly moved up to meet the ones that were now filled with fear. Andrei took a deep breathe in through his nose intending to let out a growl but that was stopped immediately.
His expertly refined sense of smell picked something familiar up. It was Belkov in nature, a scent Andrei could pick in a crowded room depending on how close to his generations bloodline the person was. The current Belkov's scents–excluding Alex since his blood now ran through her veins–were faint and unnoticeable unless you were trained to smell it out but this one was strong and pungent. It invaded in nostrils and had him looking around the room quickly eyes gliding over faces as he sought one that would look even vaguely familiar. Whoever this Belkov was they were from his generation of them, or possibly one generation down, but now he would damned if he didn't find the source of the scent. The guard scurried off as soon as he realized he was free, leaving Andrei standing there in search of the person with the Belkov scent lingering in their bloodstream.

When Andrei entered the building, Nikolai noticed him immediately. Andrei's face was fresh in his mind, after all, and while he was preoccupied, Nikolai was here for him, so he wasn't hard to notice at all. Rather than make his presence known right away, however, he simply watched as his brother went about his business in such a strange, hurried manner. He even went up to the bar, wear Nikolai was seated, and failed to notice that his own little brother was in the premises. The man simply laughed, and waited for Andrei to pick up any sign that Nikolai was here. And eventually, he would. When his monorail finally halted and he began to look around, Nikolai knew he'd caught on. Took him long enough.
"мой брат," (My brother) he began, standing up from his seat and approaching Andrei. "Это было долго." (It's been a long time.) Nikolai would stop maybe two yards away from his brother, a stoic expression donned on his face. Should he be happy? Upset? Irritated? Sad? Whatever he was feeling, it was a mess that was only amplified by his Vampire affliction. Eventually, a smile crept up onto his face and he shrugged, holding his arms out to his sides. "1000 years and you never bothered to write or call? I figured family meant a little more than that."

When the source of the scent caught his attention he immediately knew why he hadn't been able to pick up a recognizable face in a crowd. The last time he had seen Nikolai the boy was merely a child, one five years younger than Andrei himself. One thousand years had went and gone but faces of his would family remain etched in his brain–but Nikolai had been so young the last time he had seen him. After looking at him he wasn't sure how he had only just realized it was him, he looked the same for the most part except now he was all grown up. A smile spread across his face, a rare sight to see on Andrei's usually scowling features. Well I'll be damned. If it isn't the runt of the family. Not so little anymore, are we Nikolai?" He chuckled, his teasing was light hearted to say the least, Nik had been the smallest for as long as he could remember since he was three years younger than the sibling before him while the others were separated by a year. He noticed the stoic look on his little brothers face–wondered why he wasn't vaguely happy to see him. He let it go and moved on.
"You know family was always the most important thing to me, Nik. That's why I made sure the Belkov name lived on. I just let my sire sweep me away for a bit thinking everyone could live their lives peacefully without a blood thirsty monster in their lives. I'd have been devastated if I accidentally ate one of you." He assured his little brother before he finished his glass of blood, setting the now empty glass on the tray of a server passing by. He closed the folder he had been looking over and tucked it under his arm to make sure nothing would happen to it. He had noticed a few people looking their way, probably wondering why Andrei the terrible killer than used hearts like a juice box had cracked a smile and that thought made the man's face go emotionless. "How about we take this to my office?" He asked but he didn't wait for an answer before he went towards his office. If Nikolai wanted to follow he would and if he didn't Andrei would be sure to cross paths with him soon but Andrei was not one to allow people–strangers especially–into his personal life. He unlocked his office swiftly and headed in, setting the folder he had tucked under his arm on top of his desk while he waited to see if Nik was going to follow or not.

Nikolai just grinned at Andrei's first remark, a bit of air escaping his nose to indicate a laugh, albeit a forced one. He wanted to make some sort of retort, but for now he held his tongue. There were too many people around to cause a scene, and he didn't like anyone having their fingers in his pie, so to speak - one of several traits he did happen to share with his big brother. Somehow, however, the following statement did very little to assure Nikolai of anything. As though he was unaware, at least two of the Belkovs were "bloodthirsty monsters," and that happened without him being around. Maybe part of him even blamed his brother for what happened. If he'd been there, maybe Svetlana would never have turned him? He quickly shrugged off the thought, though, and followed Andrei into his office.
"You know, I lost Anya and Varya not long after you and Fillip took off," Nikolai began, shutting the door behind him. With no one to listen in, he didn't need to bite his tongue. "Anya ended up coming back, but... I lost her a second time. And then I turned into this!" His hands gestured down at himself. He was a vampire, of course, and that was what he meant. "Mama i Papa, I watched them die. All this time, you were still alive, and you couldn't at least come and let us know you were okay? I was eleven, Andrei - I was eleven, and you all just left me there to take care of the home." Did he want an apology? No. An explanation? Definitely. He didn't want his brother's sympathy, he wanted him to understand what he did, and he wanted to understand why his brother did it. "1000 years, Andrei. That's... a long, long time."

Andrei was sitting comfortably in his office chair when Nikolai walked in. He was hoping for some pleasant conversation but he went straight to the guilt much to the older man's distaste. Andrei had to stop himself from rolling his eyes and he let out a sigh. "Nik... It wasn't a choice for Fillip and I to go, okay? We were being trained and we fully expected to return home but things never worked out that way. It was just one meaningless battle after another. Fillip died in battle when he was twenty-eight, and it was while fighting fiercely to make sure I could bring his body home that I was mortally injured. I was going to die that night, Nikolai. Then Kaia saved me. I was caught up in a whirlwind of vampiric emotions, no longer bound to live my life fighting in pointless wars. It was too late for me to go back for Fillip's body by the following night and even if I had I was too bloodthirsty to be on a field soaked in the blood of dead and dying men. It would have driven me to insanity." He tapped his fingers on the table lightly. There was no apologizing for his behavior. He had been selfish wanting to follow Kaia but a part him–however small it was–was in love with his creator from the very beginning and he never had the choice in whether he was going to follow her to the ends of the earth or return home.
He sighed lightly as he brow crinkled, "I had no idea of your fate and I am sorry that you got tasked with taking care of mama and papa but Fillip and I weren't given a choice to go and Anya and Varya had to marry." He rubbed his hand over his forehead and stood up again. "Look, Nik... I never got to know the man you have become and I apologize on behalf of the whole family that the man you are has been shaped by his losses. Let us start over, brother. I'm not going anywhere now that I know you're alive." He wasn't a beggar in any way but he was keen on keeping his family safe after failing to do so a thousand years ago. He felt nothing but guilt over Anya fate and now Nik's was added to the list but that guilt was why the Belkov line was still alive and kicking, Andrei made sure Varya's family lived on and even made sure the name was used as well. He just hoped Nik would accept his offer to start over and get to know each other now that one thousand years had passed.

Nikolai listened intently and respectfully as Andrei spoke, mostly due to the fact that he needed to fill in the gaps in his mind that seemed most prevalent. Fillip's fate was now one that he could be certain of, and it left a bit of a bad taste in his mouth, but the closure was definitely something he needed. "At least Fillip didn't get damned with eternity, eh?" He replied almost coldly, stepping toward Andrei's desk. If Mama and Papa could see them over the course of the years, their lack of unity was something that was bound to have them rolling in their graves. "I don't blame you for leaving, Andrei. I never did. Did I resent you? Sure - again, I was eleven. But that isn't what has made me so upset." Nikolai stopped once he was right at Andrei's desk, and for a long moment, he would remain silent. The words kept running through his mind, and after so long, he finally had a chance to say them. And yet, as he tried, a lump was forming in his throat as if his mind was completely against the idea. "You had a millennium to come back, if only for a day, and you didn't. Even now, 1000 years later, I'm the one who found you. And I look at you and while I see the exact same man I remember, I don't even recognize you. I am looking my blood brother dead in the eyes, completely unaware of who the man before me really is. That is what pains me. Not some eternal teenage angst, or feelings of abandonment."
Nikolai's almost stoic expression betrayed his cold, quiet tone. While he was undeniably happy that he was reunited with his family, it felt more like seeing an old childhood friend than anything else. Whatever connection there was between the two, it was lost adrift 1000 years worth of emotional trauma, likely to never be dug up again. "I may not fully understand the hells you've had to endure, and I won't pretend to. But before I can even hope to, this needs to change. You are my brother, but I could pick out any random man standing outside and say as much about his character as I could about yours. Granted, thirty minutes alone in your office and I would probably know your entire life, but that's not the point." Nikolai stopped mid sentence, certain he was going into a rant and he didn't want to continue it. "... Starting over is the only option we even have."

OOC: She happens to be a Belkov, lol. Thread outfit: OutifitIC:What she could say? It was another day in the red velvet kiss between the supernaturals -of whom the vampires make the most of them- and curious humans who were begging for their necks to get bitten, then again, Kitty was not there to bite anyone's neck -at least not in the strip- or meet up with the supernaturals; she was there for two reasons, the first was her mother -Olivia Thorne aka Liv - being the proprietor of this lecherous establishment – it was a strip after all, so kindly cast aside all your morals at the door step – and the second was Kitty being the unofficial technical officer who managed the network and the internet inside the strip as a whole although network engineering was not her specialty per say, but she was resourceful nonetheless. It was like rinse and repeat actually; Kitty got through the gates without the need to provide any kind of personal information, the burly guards knew her, hell even the regular clients acknowledged her blond features. So inside again like a boss; Kitty's classic high heels were taking her in steps towards her 'room' while being dressed in nothing but mostly black. And indeed the enjoyed the easy to wear skirt above the high thighs, the jacket with silver looking zippers all over in different unexpected places over the gray sweet shirt, and please don't forgot about the small black leather bag. Once inside, Kitty was able to smell a very familiar scent which belonged to Andrei Belkov; the one whom she suspected a mysterious link tying her to him. But not only that, there was another similar scent comparable to Andrei's. It was strange indeed; a phenomenon which caught Kitty's intrigue by looking around the strip halls however never to find them, thus there was no other choice but to enter the 'staff only' hallway for the technical room until she stumbled upon Andrei's office where she heard two voices speaking inside, but Kitty didn't dare to knock the door or even eavesdrop. Because there were other better ways to do that.. The technical room was a small one filled with servers, routers and switches of every kind with a small desk in between all which served to have a computer desktop and in-front of that small desk; there were many monitors hung over the wall to show every part of the strip through security cameras. Kitty sat behind the desk after grabbing a blood bottle of a certain preferred flavor; she logged in the needed credentials to get into the system. And voila, the kitty was in. First thing first; she selected the camera overlooking Andrei's room as a part of the security system to gain manual control to keep them in view. ”So what do you guys have in store for me?” Kitty spoke to herself, ”Mhmm, speaking in Russian aren't we,” Katherine reached the conclusion once she kicked the lip sync program and soon after the translator plug-in did wonders, ”starting over is the only option,” apparently she was only able to get the last bit of their current conversation, ”Juicy,” she washed down her throat with a pint of blood letting her eyes go the usual nature known as red hues, ”so what are you hiding from me, Andrei?” she giggled in her own room knowing very well she had no right to listen into their conversation. Then again, Kitty was like a cat; she was sneaky.. Many words || Family reunion || Notes Andrei BelkovNikolai Belkov

Andrei had smelled the sweet scent of hybrid blood outside his door that also happened to smell like him as well. Kitty was in the building and was eavesdropping on him. However, before he could open his mouth and call upon her she had drifted away from the door. Probably to do something incredibly Liv like in nature and that would be a far better form of eaves dropping. He kept his attention on Nikolai for the most part and looked incredibly apologetic for what he had done but there was no changing it. He hadn’t been aware that Belkov’s other than he and his sister had been turned by some supernatural creature and he never thought to look‒he hadn’t even known about Anya until fairly recently. After Nik was done he nodded, “Starting over is our only option… But hold that thought for a minute.” He said as he stood up and walked over to the camera in the corner or the room.
The tall Russian carefully stood up on a chair to provide a little more height and looked into the camera while blocking the view of the rest of the room. He flashed an amused smile as he switched to English, “Katherine, if you wish to hear my conversation then please come join it. I’m removing this camera now. My door is unlocked if you want to speak with me. I’ll even introduce you to my brother.” He said before he reached up and effectively removed the camera from the wall and crushed it. He got off the chair and turned to look at Nikolai again, he switched back to speaking Russian, “If she does come join us… You’ll be meeting my biological daughter… She doesn’t know who I am though so let’s keep that between us for now, okay? I will tell you more later if you wish.” he asked as he made his way back to the comfort of his desk chair.
“I’m sorry for the past but let’s let bygones be bygones and move forward, Nik. We’ll go out some time and tell each other what we’ve missed, sound good?” he asked with a titled head.

Nikolai just watched as Andrei moved to the corner of the room and positioned himself on the chair. It seemed the two had company, presumably someone Andrei knew, based on what he said. Before he'd finished his business with the camera, Nikolai put a hand up to Andrei's desk to see if he could get any memories - recent or otherwise - pertaining to this "Katherine." It didn't hurt to have a little info, but regardless of what he got from the desk, Andrei told him about as much as he needed to know. Nikolai stared at Andrei as he was informed who their company was, and he tried to have more of a reaction. He just... didn't. The most of a response he could muster was a simple nod.
"Sure." That was all the reaction he had. Was he going to give everything up, and forget all the trouble he had to deal with because his siblings left? No. Not for some time, at least, but he knew Andrei was going to continue saying the same thing over and over, and they were going to make no progress. Right now, at least, he would drop it. After all, he was going to meet more of their blood, and this time it would be someone he didn't even know. "You don't need to explain anything to me, brother." After all, with his ability, he'd know everything there was to know about these two just by having walked in the same areas, or maybe even touching her clothes.
For now, Nikolai was eager for this daughter to arrive. He desperately wished to see what the Belkov line progressed to.
