biography
Diana was born over seven thousand years ago in what is now modern day Sweeden. When she was born, cultivating the land in one spot was new. She grew up learning how to replant seeds and tend to the animals. Years later those from the south have brought them the art of pottery, a new means of trade and lifestyle. She married young like other women, to a respected hunter in her village. The two had children and everything seemed fine in her life. However, things changed in her life when she was roughly twenty-five years old. Her husband was killed by a bear, and she was not pleased. Refusing to stand by idly, she took matters into her own hands. She brought with her an axe of stone, and hunted the bear down. When she found the bear, she waited until it fell asleep, and plotted her revenge. When night fell, she went to exact her revenge. With her axe ready, she saw the bear had cubs, and knew what she had to do. She went in and engaged in a battle with the mother bear. For the bear left her children without her husband, she shall leave them without a mother. The bear nearly killed her in one fast swoop of her claws, but driven by vengeance, she swung her axe across its throat and went into a hate driven rage, slashing into it until she was covered in blood. With her vengeance filled, she was fulfilled. As she left though, she ran into what she now knows was a Magi, who cursed her to be the thing she hates the most for as long as she lives. At first she thought nothing of it, until a week later when her village was attacked. Driven by anger and wanting to protect her children, she lost control of herself, and became a bear. Unable to control herself, she massacred everyone, leaving no survivors, including her children. Unable to live with herself like this, she vanished.
She traveled across the world, never staying in one place to long for people began to notice she didn’t seem to age. She traveled through Mesopotamia and watched the wheel come into the world, she remembers the first pyramid’s being built in Egypt, writing becoming a form of records instead of oral stories. However, with all the beauty she has seen, she was never able to stop the uncontrollable shift that occurred when she was outraged. So, she traveled for centuries it seems, never getting to rest her feet in one place. During her travels across Europe, she came across a mother bear, and befriended it. She came to think of the bear and her cubs as her second family. However one night, a group of hunters entered the cave and killed the mother bear. Before she could do anything, she was captured, never knowing what became of the cubs. When she was back at the camp, all she wanted to do was to exact revenge, and her wish was granted. When she was at the camp, she willed the curse in this time, and killed almost all the hunters. One fled, and the stories began. She travelled for a millennium across from as far as Greece to Egypt, China and Babylonia, killing those in her path as she struggled to gain full control of her curse.
Around 500B.C. she decided she knew how to keep the curse under control, and traveled home. There, she met a man, a leader of Nordic tribe, and they fell in love. However, mid shift she hit him, mauled him almost to death, but he survived, and joined the curse. They turned all the men and women who were willing to join them into the first pack of were-bears. Less than a quarter of the people who took the offer survived as they tried to get them to join. Using their new-found abilities, they went on to try and conquer the neighboring areas. However, most of them unable to control themselves, killed one another, leaving just herself and her new husband left.
The two of them traveled the world, watching the world evolve around them. They witnessed the Greeks defeat the Persians, the death of Socrates, Alexander rising a city in Egypt, streets become paved in Rome, and the rise of their own empire. Around 550AD, she once again started to make packs of her own, alongside her husband. For forty years they did this and perfected it. War raged over Europe with her kind and other supernatural beings. Around late 8th century AD, she went home and led the Viking age, fighting and winning on two fronts. Conquering one place after another, gaining new land and territory, exploring the world, and living like gods. While she tended to remain in the shadows, she did occasionally join battle when she deemed it needed. However, everything that comes up, must come down. While in battle, her husband died by a werewolf. Angered by this, she deemed it was time to finish the wolves off completely. She went into many battles over the course of months, learning everything she can to defeat. Finally, she figured out what it was, and relayed the information to her people. By 1,100 AD, most of her men were killed, but she exacted the revenge she wanted. Most of the men she herself made have long passed, leaving the few remaining to be those created by others. She has sense left it up those left to continue to make more as they seem, though most seem to be hunted and don’t tend to live long.
She spent the rest of her time trying to hunt down and make werewolves extinct. When she caught wind of there being wolves in the America’s, and some of her being there as well, she made a stand. She took the voyage over and began her ruthless campaign over there as well. However, it took her many years to realize that the American wolves are different, and no need to bother them. She has since left her campaign to exterminate the wolves, and now tries to serve as a motherly figure to those of her kind. While she no longer actively goes out to hunt for sport, if someone hurts one of her own, she will end it.
