Being like everyone else was simply not a suit that Trystan could wear comfortably. One must not presume that he did it badly or that he did not even try. Many times, he felt compelled to blend into the background, hoping to simply be overlooked but he would always stand out: the high nobility of the Elven race considered he. Still this would not stop him. If anything, it would inspire him to aim for perfection. Part of the reason he was here was to report to his father, relaying the information of what was happening in the human world.
Though there were a great amount of stories about their corruption and greed, he was bedazzled by their weakness, their stubbornness and most importantly of all: the way they grasped every ounce of life around them. They consumed it by the dozen, paranoid that it was not enough; perhaps it was the fragility of mortality that drove them to such steps. Trystan did not need to worry about becoming one with Earth, unless of course someone was to kill him. Yet he knew his way around a battle, knew how to defend himself, even how to kill if needed be. However he was not the kill now ask questions kind of guy.
Humans were an enigma that Trys wanted to explore. He was like child in a candy store, marvelled at the complexity of choice around him. These were the very creatures his father willingly chose to side with. Well it was that or the vampires but the elves were rather cynical that their intentions would allow them to live the life that they currently did. Elves may be creatures of thousands of lifespans but they rather likes stability.
Vampires were a predicament that they could not control within reason. They would corrupt their world and the higher class elves were taking them as a threat. They certainly remained hostile to them. As to the other species of the world, apart from the Fae, they are rather naïve of what else presides in the shadows. This is not due to lack of awareness but they have only taken notice of beings who had some direct influence upon their species. The others were not thought about as they neither hindered nor progressed the elf society.
Trystan had been keeping to himself for a while. It was not a conscious decision but one he found was able to fulfil his requirements adequately. Observing the people around him, he submerged himself into the unknown abyss. Still for every moment he was out of his comfort zone was another minute he enjoyed. What was the point of living if people remained in their trench dug out comfort zones. Trystan needed to know knew things, experience the unknown.
Wearing his cloak, for that was something he always carried around with him, he noticed something in the distance. A woman was being attacked. Several men around her were cowering over the defenceless being. Moving with speed, he ran along the wall and pushed himself off unsettling the two closest to him. His sword sung out, its sweet harmony comforted him in this hour of need. A couple of more came behind him.
Bending down, he grabbed and twisted the arm of the man on his left. With his other hand, he parried the blow from the right. Kicking the man, he watched in satisfaction his stumbling back. However he noticed that the defenseless woman was not so defenseless and she came standing next to some of her so called attackers. More of them appeared on the scene. He was not sure whether he would be able to fight or he would have to flee on this occasion.
