To most were’s the full moon was a symbol of pain and angst, but for the Lioness it was a night of celebration and freedom when in the body of the animal she was gifted. To her the lion was a representation of a second chance in life; a soul reincarnated to serve both the goddess Isis who granted her the powers and to the people she had sworn to protect –like a mother watching over her cubs. To a woman wrongfully murdered and brought back to life without becoming a vampire, Naomi saw this as a blessing and found the disadvantages to be well worth it, but not many viewed the ability she bestowed onto them as a gift, but a curse, and in some cases Naomi could see why. The transitions were painful and the vulnerability to silver makes them an easy target despite their added strength. All of these could be easily managed with time, but the one thing a Were can never get over is losing a loved one to the grips of Death. Immortality, though with its advantages, made time seem nonexistent and could make one easily succumb to the belief that they and others like them are unstoppable. For those who live a life of solitude, caring for nothing and no one, such a thought could be considered strength, but for those who have loved ones must inevitably face the reality that not everything lasts forever. That was why Naomi surrounded herself with mortals in the belief that facing death head on would keep her on a righteous path and remind her that even a 5,000 year old Original was no true god, and could just as easily succumb to the kiss of death once again. On a full moon such as tonight Naomi could always be found roaming the nearest forest. The stars were fickle and mostly covered by clouds, but the moon shone bright against the blackness of the sky and illuminated the dense forest enough for anyone to see without a light. As a cat Naomi can easily see in the dark but found the extra bit of light quite pleasant, and with long strides made her way to a clearing where the moon shone brightest, and laid on her side with her paws positioned in front of her and her body in a relaxed position. tag: Kgosi notes: of course she's moon bathing -facepalm- ♥ ♥

Kgosi had, unlike so many others, come to terms with his gift of immortality. While most saw the pain one could suffer from consistent loss of loved ones, he liked to look at the bigger picture. After 5000 years, such a mindset was one that was easy to adjust to, and he used his gift to do all he could to make the world a safer, better place for all species. In order to accomplish such a goal, he needed time, and he realized that if he didn't have eternity, his goal was one he would have abandoned long ago. Starting something important and then handing off to someone else - who could damn well fail - was a fate worse than death, in his eyes. So, for Kgosi, no matter how many loved ones he lost, it was never greater than the failure that came with the territory of mortality.
On nights with a full moon, Kgosi had habits of spending them running. He had no goal, no destination, he just enjoyed the feel of the wind as he dashed across the land at speeds unmatched by anyone, mortal or not. The transformation was always one he'd known to be painful, but after so long of dealing with it, one would become reasonably aaccustomed to it. More than that, though, Kgosi enjoyed it - he was given his abilities, this transformation included, as a gift from the "gods" of old, so when he was forced into it, he rejoiced. Being the man he was, nights like these were blessings, days of rest, and he treated them as such.
It was late, and Kgosi somehow found himself outside of the city, though this wasn't particularly surprising. He was just running, of course, and as a cheetah he cleared ground relatively quickly. Eventually, he came to a forest, one that he frequented. It was like his second home, and he was delighted to be there once again. Eagerly, he'd dash through every path he knew and search for those he didn't. By now, he'd had the whole place almost entirely mapped out, so the searching was more of a formality and a habit than anything else. After a long session of running, Kgosi retreated to his favorite spot in the forest. Much to his surprise, however, there was someone else already there... Someone he didn't know.
"Well, hello there," The original cheetah spoke to what he presumed to be another werecat. He waited for a moment to gauge whether or not this stranger was hostile, but if there were no signs of aggression he would lay down and bathe in the moon next to them.

Naomi was bathing in the moonlight when she felt a presence approaching and stood up to face her visitor. The scent was familiar yet unfamilar at the same time. Her ears perked up at the also unfamiliar voice in her head, her head tilting to the side as if trying to figure something out. "Who are you?" She replied, though not in a threatening tone, but a curious one. She didnt feel threatened by his presence, but excited. Naomi was a playful spirit both in animal and human form, and once his position was established she would waste no time in making him her new playmate. Slowly she approached him with her nose in the air, letting the wind bring his scent to her to remember for future purposes. tag: Kgosi notes: of course she's moon bathing -facepalm- ♥ ♥

"Kgosi is what they call me," he replied only a moment after laying down. He watched the girl curiously as she approached him, though her lack of ill will was taken into note. We're he in his human state, he'd have a smile upon his face. "Who might you be?" As the lion came closer and took his scent, he too took hers. There was a vague familiarity about it, one that he recognized only because something about it reminded him of himself.
Kgosi rolled over to the side after he took in her scent, standing up once more. He stepped up to her, retaining a respectful distance but still very evidently observing her. Part of him just wanted to let loose and race around with a stranger, and he was silently hoping this lion had something similar in mind. This was, after all, a chance to unwind that he desperately needed.

"Bastet!" She said in an upbeat tone but quickly realized not many called her by her birth name anymore. "Call me Naomi." When he stood back up and began to investigate her as well she started to circle him with golden eyes wandering over his colorful spots. "I love your spots." She replied in awe, stretching a paw out to lightly stroke his side. Her eyes fixated on them like a cat on a laser pointer. "And your fur is so soft.." tag: Kgosi notes: of course she's moon bathing -facepalm- ♥ ♥
