[attr="class","ishy-title"]Ghouls
[attr="class","ishy-content"]
Ghouls are a sub-species of Demon who have been bitten by vampires. When the branching of Demon subspecies first began, a demon containing no magik, was bitten by a vampire and poisoned. The affects of vampirism didn't take full affect but it certainly changed the demon. In his attempt to satisfy his thirst, he drained humans dry but the blood simply wasn't enough. It was the very flesh of the humans that satisfied his hunger. Over the years, he sought out others like himself, demons who possessed no Magik due to a flaw and turned them as well. However, as the Ghoul species solidified, other demons could no longer be turned into Ghouls due to too much evolution. A ghoul can only be born.
In "ghoul form" the only way to tell them apart from humans are their eyes. The iris turns red while the rest of the eye turns black. Their teeth also become pointed.
Because ghouls value their ability to blend in with humans, when they are in "ghoul form" they tend to wear face masks to keep their identities secret. Like a bank robber wearing a mask to keep his identity unknown. Among humans, ghouls are usually talked about via their mask such as, "the rabbit" or "the ninja". They also appear exactly like humans.
Like their appearance, Ghouls blend in perfectly well with society. They laugh, play, cry etc. like anyone else. However, because of the general hatred of them in the human populace, they are constantly killed just because of what they are. This has caused quite a strong "family bond" with other Ghouls and it's very common for Ghouls to protect other Ghouls with their life, even if they don't know them. And because of their eating preference, they have no qualms with killing humans, whether for food or protection. In the Ghoul community, murder is not a crime. All in all, Ghouls just want to fit it and feel accepted.
If a single monthly meal is skipped, Ghouls can enter into a state better known as "Blood Lust" which stems from the original vampire poison that created the species. Ghouls literally lose control of themselves and go on a rampage, eating whoever they can get their hands on with no mind of their surroundings. This particular attitude is what normally kills Ghouls so most always try and have a plan for their monthly feeding so as to skip this particular set back.
Ghouls can eat other ghouls to become stronger but it's a great taboo. Ghouls are labeled as cannibals and shunned from the community. If a ghoul becomes strong enough from eating its own kind, he is usually hunted down and killed.
Are stronger and faster. Life span is the same as humans.
Human food tastes foul to a ghoul. They can't stomach it. In fact, they usually throw it up. They've managed to blend in with humans by learning to chew 10 times and swallow it whole but they have to regurgitate it up before they digest or they become extremely sick.
-Ghouls only eat human flesh but they only have to eat once a month. Anymore than that usually marks a ghoul in its community as a glutton and they are normally shunned or killed, depending on the community.
-The only human substance they can eat or drink is water and coffee. Normally, you'll find a coffee shop owned by a ghoul.
-Any sort of precipitation; snow, rain, fog etc. Makes ghouls weak and sleepy. Because of this, they tend to keep indoors during these times.
Breeding among ghouls is kept between ghouls. Mostly because humans see ghouls as murders and to humans, cannibalism is a great sin. So ghouls keep themselves unknown to humans. But every once in awhile, a human will get into a relationship with a ghoul and even rarer, produce a child. But the chances of its survival are slim. If its a human mother with a Ghoul father, she must be able to eat human flesh to feed her child. And if its a ghoul mother with a human father, the mother’s body usually mistakes the fetus as food and absorbs it. Nine times out of ten, the fetus dies, unable to sustain life. But if a hybrid child is born, they have all the characteristics of their ghoul parent except they only have one "ghoul eye" versus both eyes turning black and red. They can also eat human food. If a Ghoul breeds with other supernatural creatures, the affect is the same. Vampire/Ghoul children will always be Ghoul. No vampirism at all.
No one can be turned into a ghoul. You can only be born as one.

[attr="class","ishy-subtitle"]Community
A community is usually set up by an elder ghoul who keeps a family group or "adopts" younger ghouls who can't control themselves. A community tends to keep a regular supply of human flesh to keep their numbers satisfied. Ways of getting this supply are unique to each community.
