[attr="class","appcontent2"]Despite having been born before her parents could marry, Alessa was raised by the Sovereign household for a great deal of her childhood as a relative taken in. She was basically ignored by her family, however, being discarded off to a wet nurse and raised by her. Even when her mother died from giving birth to her half brother about a year after her own birth. She stayed in the house until the head of the household died. She was kicked out before she turned seventeen completely cut off from the inheritance.
She struggled on the streets and when she was around eighteen came into her powers. As luck would have it, she met a magi who took her in for a while and agreed to teach her. She came into her magic and actually liked it. Thanks to the generous magi, she made a coven strictly to help other magi in situations like hers and also learn more about her mother's death. Over the years, she learned about the rape and the birth of her half-brother and how he was cast out of the orphanage he had been in. She didn't look much further than that. She didn't care enough to know.
It was her desire to help other magi that eventually drove her to make the decision to claim the Sovereign inheritance. However, she knew as long as there were living relatives, she couldn't even try. Deep down she knew it wouldn't bode well for her. Besides, she wanted to get it all without having to fight for it. It was her birthright really. Plus, she didn't want to face the rejection so she patiently waited for the line to end. While she waited for this to happen, she ran into a child that had been abandoned and took the child in as her own.
When the supernaturals were outed, she left Italy with her coven and moved to the States after finding out another Sovereign was running around there. Her goal is to find them or at least find out who they are and if they desire to take possession of the inheritance. It has only been recently that she has begun to suspect the other to be the spawn that ended her mother's life.
