biography
Kiara was born in Las Vegas, Nevada, almost eighteen years ago. Her mother had been cursed with getting pregnant at the age of 15, and had Kiara by the time she was 16. Kiara never met her mother or her father, because the duo decided to give her up for adoption directly after she was born. What was never revealed was the fact that Kiara's father had the genes of a werebear, and had made his first shift. Thus, his genes were passed onto the daughter that he never truly got to know. However, even to this day, she still doesn't know what she is and she hasn't shifted for the first time like a normal girl her age would have.
Kiara wasn't adopted at first. She bounced from foster home to foster home, but she didn't have a true home until she was four years old. It was then that her last and final foster family adopted her. They had no other children, and they had been trying for very many years to have a child of their own. That was before they found out that the mother was infertile. Being very understanding of their situation, but still wanting a child of their own, they jumped at the chance to adopt Kiara when that time came around, bringing her into their family forever.
As the young werebear grew up, she discovered many of her favorite things to do and even made quite a few friends. She had an extreme interest in the arts, especially acting, music, and dance. Her parents were very nurturing, and reinforced her love for the arts by taking her to plays, ballets, and various musical concerts. They even started her in on singing, dancing, and acting lessons when she was old enough. She flourished, of course, gaining an immense amount of confidence in herself and her skills. She was adamant about completing her homework and doing well in school, though, so she was constantly busy and always feeling energized and ready to go. She managed to make straight A's and honor roll in middle school.
It was in school that she met her best friend, Alice Gale. Over the years, they became like her second family, and they were just as supportive as her real family. The two families got along well, and there were times in which the two girls practically lived at each others houses. By the time they reached high school, the two of them were pretty much attached at the hip, and did just about everything together. Kiara took a great interest in musical theatre as an extra curricular activity, and took as many arts classes as she could while also taking all the AP classes that she possibly could. She even took up boxing and running as a way to stay fit and help take off the stress of life at times.
Now in her senior year of high school, Kiara is starting to look at colleges and stress about her future. However, there's still the little fact that she still doesn't know that she's a werebear. Her first shift is coming soon, and it won't be pretty.
