Andrei frowned widely as he watched Liv shakily head outside. Generally he would have let her go without question, knowing their relationship wasn’t on good enough grounds for him to follow, but tonight something was wrong with her and that was reason enough for him to follow. He weaved his way through the other guests and stepped outside to join her. He was hesitant to speak at first, debating if this was a good choice or not, then decided he didn’t care if she yelled at him or hit him. He honestly didn’t care if he was met with some form of rage for daring to step outside with her, he just wanted to make sure she was okay. With a quick cough to announce himself he stepped towards her, a careful hand slid across her back and rested at the base of her spin before he removed it. He looked at her with concern, “You don’t have to tell me what happened back there… I just wanted to make sure you’re okay.” he explained.

She was biting her nails -a habit she had picked up in her human days when she was thinking- when he approached. She didn't answer at first but when she did she ignored everything he said. "Do you think I'm a horrible person?" She asked blatantly as her attention shifted in his direction. She already knew the answer. But for some fucked up reason she wanted to hear it come out of someone else's mouth anyways. It wouldn't ease her pain, so why would she care? And of all people why ask Andrei? She still hated him for what he did despite her own guilt reminding her she was no better. And she wasn't. She had kept his daughter from him with the desperate need to replace her own, and here she stood beside him, with concern in his eyes, and all she could do was stand there like an idiot asking him a question with an obvious answer. She took another long puff from her cigarette before putting it out in the ashtray on the table beside them.

Andrei’s head titled to the side at her question, not entirely sure why he had been asked. Especially considering how he felt about her combined with the hatred she felt for him. Did she need reassurance? He shouldn’t have been the person to go to, especially when he saw all the impossible things he wanted when he looked at her. “Regardless of choices made, I don’t think you’re a horrible person. You just protect yourself more than anything else I think…” he trailed off and looked away from her, his brow furrowed in thought, still confused by her question. Maybe he should have just let it go and moved on. Maybe he should have just walked away and left their exchange like this but she was an enigma that always drew him in even when he knew he should have left it alone. “You’re not usually one to care how people feel towards you…” he noted, letting his gaze shift back to her before he continued, “So why ask me of all people?”

Guilt was a hell of a thing to feel and as an immortal it was only intensified. It was the driving force behind her recent actions as well as her question and it seemed with each passing day it only grew worse and worse. "I don't. You were convenient." She said coldly, reverting back to her closed off self and folded her arms over her chest in awkwardness. She wouldn't admit how much his opinion of him mattered but it was obvious by the tightness in her chest he held a firm grip on her conscious still. She brought her hands to cup her arms, feeling the goosebumps run down her arm from the slight chill that hit her, the blood in her system already taking effect. She wasn't cold but the breeze brushing against her skin made her shiver slightly as if it did.
"Someone's been stealing from me." she said randomly, though it was a subject that also weighed heavily on her mind. "I'm finding gaps in my books that don't make sense and liquor missing from the back. Whoever is ripping me off is doing a poor job of keeping their tracks covered. Have you hired anyone new lately?"

His intake of air came to a halt at the coldness of Liv’s statement. Apparently he was just a convenience to her, that made what was left of his heart grow tight. His jaw tightened and so did his fists but he managed to stop himself from growling by some miracle. His eyes, which had been filled with concern, went cold again. “Good to know.” he said through clenched teeth as he folded his arms over his chest loosely. “Just a thought… Maybe you could learn to be less of a bitch when someone does something out of character and tries to make sure you’re okay. Especially when they could have walked away and not given a fuck about your problems like they would have done with everyone else on the fucking planet.” he stated, not even caring for her reaction as he leaned against a railing.
“As for someone stealing from you, I haven’t hired anyone new. If you figure out who it is let me know and I will handle it personally.” He meant that he would kill them in some gruesome way but he figured she knew him well enough to know that. He stood back up straight and moved to walk away but he turned back to her, "If you decide that you're done being a bitch to me I'm sure you'll be able to find me. I'll be the tall one wearing a scowl." he told her before he made his way back towards the door.

His words stung but probably not as much as they should have. By now she was used to the back and forth bickering that had become their relationship. She didn't even want him to follow her out so why should she feel sorry for that? Still her need to constantly be around him regardless of her mood brought her hand up to grasp his arm before he could get to far. "Kitty, wait." She spoke softly, her mood changing from cruel to apologetic. "Thank you. For everything. For putting up with me despite of everything. I know I'm difficult...and I don't say this often, but I do appreciate your presence in the club." And there it was. Liv spilling her heart out to him once again. Maybe it was the small bit of alcohol that spiked her bravery in her attempt to keep him there or it could have been the itching feeling deep within that she felt when she needed to feel the comfort of her lovers embrace. If anyone could hold Liv right it was Andrei, and in a moment of weakness she wanted to feel it once again. "Just stay with me for a few longer?" She looked up at him with her green puppy dog eyes.

Liv’s touch on his arm and the use of her nickname for him made Andrei die a little bit on the inside. He cursed the power she held over him to this very day as he stopped and looked at her. He almost scoffed at her suddenly apologetic attitude but by the time she had finished it felt sincere in a way he hadn’t known in a long time. It made his fingers twitch just slightly as he preparing himself for the storm to come, some little off handed comment that negated the nicety she had just shown but it never came. Instead she asked him to stay with those big green eyes that he adored like nothing else. Was it a trap? No… She didn’t have some beginning of a smirk hidden in her eyes. Maybe this time a moment would amount to something other than banter or bickering, he was hopeful for it. He said nothing about it but made no further move to leave either, instead his usually uptight shoulders relaxed and he looked passed her, forcing himself to keep his eyes away from her face so he wouldn’t have to look at her and initiate something he’d regret later when she smacked him or worse. “It’s a two way street by the way… Putting up with each other I mean. I’m just as difficult, if not more so. But I do appreciate it.” he said softly, the gruffness in his tone gone.

"Difficult is putting it lightly. I don't know if you know this, but your presence in the club is a lot more beneficial than you may think, believe it or not. When word got out that you would be housing your operations there, no one has even dared to start anything. Until now, of course." Her red lips curled into a smirk. "You frighten people, darling. And that's one reason why I kept you around. It's also the reason I loved you. Well, one of them." Her finger trailed down the center of his chest and rested just above his belly button. He had a reputation for ripping heads off at the slightest provocation, and she eagerly used that to her advantage when things weren't going her way. You weren't playing by her rules? Threaten them with a one-on-one meeting with the man downstairs. In most cases they gave in for the pure fact of wanting to avoid his wrath alone, but when they didn't they certainly regretted their decision later that day.
"Not as dangerous as me, however, but nobody likes getting their heads ripped off or their heart turned into a juicebox."

Andrei couldn’t really help the smirk that crossed his features at the mention of how frightening he was. He was fully aware of how scary he could be and he was rather proud of the amount of people he could keep in line when they knew that they would have to deal with him if they stepped even an inch out of it. But the smirk went as quickly as it came when Liz mentioned loving him. That dreaded past tense of the word love always loomed over him when it came to her. He might still be in love with her but the sentiment would likely never be the same, even if she sent mixed signals that involved running her hand down his chest. His eyes averted back to hers and a raised brow, “You’re only scarier because you’re just so alluring. You draw people in with your good looks and southern charm just for them to end up dead for crossing you. People know what they are getting into when they cross the path of a large Russian vampire wearing a perpetual scowl.” He retorted casually. “And blood straight from the heart is the best…” he added softly with a small yet dark chuckle leaving his lips. He moved away from her so that her hand resting on him didn’t provoke him to want more of her and he leaned his elbows against the railing and looked out at the night with a sigh instead.

The distance he put between them proved to her just how much he still loved her despite it all, and as thrilling as the notion was, it scared her more than anything. Not because of who he was or what he could do to her if angered, but because it made it all the much harder to hate him back. Not truly, anyways. Her spiteful nature made it easy enough to pretend, and sure, she did still feel a bit of resentment towards him for his involvement in her late husbands death, but with time she had come to accept it and even if she did still hate him for what he did, it could never outweigh the loneliness inside that ate her away.
Perhaps it was this perpetual darkness that was the true reason for her acceptance of his help four years ago when he offered it, even though the thought of him made her sick at the time still. Katherine, her little angel and guiding light filled the void that was left by her lost child, and if with her similarities to Andrei, it still wasn’t enough to complete her entirely. Even a fool couldn’t deny what they truly desired but it took strength to resist chasing after it. If it wasn’t for Kitty and her deception towards Andrei it was most likely Olivia would have flung herself onto him as she so desperately wanted to, giving into the sweet temptation that was his lips, if even for a brief second. The reality of it was that Kitty was there, and she had lied to Andrei, and in order to keep what semblance of peace the two had left Olivia knew she had no choice but to set her personal feelings aside –uncertain or not- and do what was best for their daughter. It had always been about her and always will.
"Of course it is. Heart breaker." She said with a smirk that was far from pure intent, her eyes giving him the look as if he should know what she was talking about, and leaned her elbows against the railing with her back pressed against it. It was then she caught the scent of another and with each passing second it drew closer. An unnerving feeling came over her and like expected the face to match rounded the corner. A previous lover, unwilling to accept rejection, approached Olivia with the intent to rekindle the spark he claimed they had. There was no spark, not since Andrei, and without another thought she found herself reacting. Her hands gripped Andrei's shoulders and twisted him towards her before surprising him with a deep, passionate kiss. The fiery the better and she hoped it was enough to deter the intruder away. She just didnt expect she'd enjoy the distraction as much as she did.

Andrei had opened his mouth to say something but any words that may have rolled off his tongue died on his lips the very instant they touched her own. Andrei assumed this was to deter someone from her‒likely the guy that came with the scent that he picked up getting closer and closer. He didn’t know who the man was but he could figure it was someone Liv was trying to drop not so subtle hints to that she wasn’t interested. Rationally speaking, Andrei knew this wasn’t because Liv had forgiven him or because she wanted him back in her life in a way that involved a lot less bickering. He knew this moment couldn’t amount to much more than a kiss to ward off an unwilling suitor but that didn’t stop him from reacting to it.
His arms snaked around her waist and pulled her against him while he returned the kiss, full of passion and ‒dare he admit‒love. Andrei was sucked into a moment that he was afraid to end because reality would shatter what was left of his feelings once again and leave him aching him. Maybe he could talk her into one shot. One simple thing that could go forgotten amongst years of hatred and bickering. He took a risk, pulled away just slightly and went for the spot on her neck he knew would drive her crazy‒he knew Liv well enough to play her like a fiddle if given the chance. “Come upstairs with me. We don’t have to talk about what happens afterwards.” He pulled away, arms still wrapped around her waist, with an eyebrow raised expectantly. He didn't really care what had happened to the guy that had attempted to corner Liv, he's probably pull his heart right out of his damn chest and throw it out into the night if he even thought about coming up and speaking right now.

She had expected his response to be nothing short of pure habit; a beautiful woman randomly kisses you, you kiss her back. But with their history it was clear to her that this could possibly stir up feelings she had long since repressed, but once his lips ventured down towards the sweet spot on her neck, there was no going back. Before she knew it she had forgotten the real reason for the kiss and instead became wrapped up in the bliss of it all. For centuries she had longed for this moment, only to deny herself out of fear and paranoia. Even if she wanted to break free from his spell she couldn't whilst in his embrace, and like butter on a warm plate, melted into him.
Her green eyes met his icy blue stare and she quickly found herself nodding before really thinking about it. There was no thought needed behind it. She knew what she wanted and after so long of wanting something, when it finally stood right in front of you practically begging to be taken, you don't just walk away. "Let's make it quick." She said before pulling away and grabbed his hand. She led him back inside and towards the elevators, pressing a button and then returned to the fiery passion of his kiss while they waited for the doors to open.
