Such a lovely day. Audrey had no real plans for making more money so she could pay for her lovely hotel room in the upscale hotels of the Strip. Ceaser's Palace, because why not? She had made plenty in the past week to pay for her room for at least two weeks, if not more depending on how much she spent. And she was good at her "job" so making more was hardly an issue. The little klepto was crafty and there was always a new sucker in the city for her to rip off. So she had cash to spare. So the she-wolf decided that she was going to take the night off stealing and spend the day shopping. Her clothing was a bit lacking since she had been on the road for six years, and carrying around a huge wardrobe was a hassle. But now she was looking to stay in Vegas for quite a while. For now she was just in a hotel room, albeit a very nice one, but a solid home would be nice. She was working on that. She was "earning" some pretty big bucks in the casinos, and well, an apartment wouldn't take too much to get. Soon.
For now, the blonde was roaming the Town Square, buying clothes and such. Mostly clothes. She spent practically the whole morning in various clothing stores trying on outfit after outfit. Around lunch time she finally called it temporary quits and headed out to her car with bags on her arms and she shoved the into her trunk before heading back in to look for a place to eat now that she was free form carrying around bags of clothing. She sighed and walked down the strip of shops and restaurants debating on what sounded good. There were just so many options. But suddenly she go the all too familiar urge to snatch something up. So much for that day off then. Ah well. It didn't need to be much. Just a shirt or something. Or a few twenties from someone's wallet.
Audrey casually looked around, trying to think of where she should head, when her eyes locked on a young man. Perfect. It didn't seem like he was really paying all that much attention, so she kept looking around as she headed in his direction. She came up behind him very casually and she gently slipped him wallet out of his pocket and opened it. She quickly just grabbed a few bills, smiling at the fact the three of them were twenties, and she closed the wallet and placed it back in his pocket turning and starting to walk away as if nothing happened, the sixty dollars already in her pocket. And urge to steal resolved.

Ra and Ayanna had agreed to split up in order to cover more ground in the city. He had a cellphone on him at all times so if they needed to call and meet up somewhere that wasn't an issue. Ra normally didn't like venturing too far from Ayanna, since she always manage to get herself into trouble one way or another, but he knew better than to argue with the woman. Ayanna already felt like an outcast among so many women shopping in the area.
It was pretty nice out, and the humidity barely made Ra feel those low temperatures as the seasons sank closer and closer to winter. With Christmas just around the corner it was only natural that so many people were buying things. He was glad he wasn't out and about during Black Friday. Ra didn't have anything against people who shopped on those days, he just feared being trampled if heaven forbid he ever had to be out in the streets around that time. Those Black Friday reports didn't help matters either.
Ra felt a very light touch around his back pocket, it was so faint that he barely felt anything at all. He reached around and felt it, his wallet still where it belonged. Ra took it out of his pocket, deciding he needed to double check some things anyway. As soon as he did he saw that the money he had inside of it was gone and knew where the light touch had came from.
“You have got to be kidding.”
Ra looked around, trying to find signs of who may have done it. All he saw was a bunch of people walking as normal, and if the thief was that sneaky he doubt just yelling out that someone stole his wallet would make them sweat. As much as he didn't like doing it in public, he had no choice. While everyone else was too busy in their own little worlds, Ra closed his eyes and quietly chanted a spell. The wind picking up around Audrey and blowing through her hair to pick her out as the thief. Ra pushed past the crowd, picking up speed as he shouted out to her.
“Hey! HEY!”

Audrey smirked as she walked away. Stealing just came naturally to her. But her small victory was rather short lived when that gust of wind blew around her. Strange there really hadn't been a breeze before. She glanced around and she swore softly when she noticed she was the only one being effected. "Jesus Christ, really?" she muttered closing her eyes. Of all the people in the shopping center she managed to pick out a Magi. She wasn't about to stop though. She knew she had been found out, but she didn't want to be called out in a large crowd like this. So she walked faster ignoring the calls behind her.
'Hey! HEY!'
She could run pretty damn fast, but now she was being shouted at and if she took off running she was going to bring attention to herself and some random Good Samaritan might stop her, which would really put a huge damper on her day. Instead she wracked her brain for a good sob story she could pull out and use on the guy. After a moment she broke free of the crowds near a fountain and she spun around to see the guy she had just pickpocketed coming towards her. Alright. Time to test out those lovely lying skills she had. "That's a nifty little trick you got there," she started. "But do you think you could look the other way on this?" she chewed on her lower lip as she watched him. "Please? I just... I needed some cash. I didn't think it would be any harm. I'm just...." she broke off looking rather worried and a touch scared. "My dad made me and he'll kill me if I don't bring in money and this is all I've gotten today." That was a half truth, since her dad had been pretty vicious when it came to his cons. He had high standards and well, it could be hard to live up to them. She was thankful he was dead, but that didn't mean she couldn't use him to pull off things at times.

The woman didn't acknowledge him, or even ran, which didn't come as much of a surprise to Ra. She already proven to be an expert at this with how subtly she removed his own wallet just to take the money inside and give it back. Luckily she decided to break off from the crowd, and Ra followed suit catching her at the water fountain. The fact she was able to tell the wind was from him tipped him off that she may be more than human, with how subtle his spell had been. That was the downside to being a magi. Every time you used your magic you declared yourself for the entire supernatural world to hear, or at least the ones that were in the same area. The frustrating part was he had no idea what this woman was, but caution was his alley now.
“Oh, there's a lot more where that came from,” he assured her.
When the woman asked if he could look the other way the magi couldn't help but let out a chuckle. He was starting to understand why Ayanna found it humorous when people said something stupid to her.
“And why would I do that?”
Then she went on to explain about her father. He was unsure of what to think at first. It wasn't much of a stretch, and if she was indeed inhuman then God only knows what her father was capable of if he didn't get what he wanted. It might have been worth having Ayanna check out. Ra gave her a sympathetic look when he asked his next question.
“Who's your father?”

'Who's your father?'
She shook her head slightly. I doubt you'd know about him. He keeps a low profile. Sends me to do his dirty work," she grumbled a bit bitterly. "If anything ever goes wrong he let's me take the full force of whatever happens. Normally it's just little things, but if I screw up too bad I get his wrath as well." She sighed and ran a hand through her hair. She could give her father's name if he did press, after all, Cai had murdered him just shy of a century ago. There wouldn't be any records of him that were easily accessible either.
And this guy was sympathetic. She could see it in her face and hear it in his voice. Good. That meant it was working. And if he felt bad he was more likely to let her get away with this. But she wanted to dissuade him fro trying to look into his father anyway. Better safe than sorry right? "Look, I'll give you fair warning. You don't want to screw with him. He's nasty, and while you seem to have a good handle on your magic, he's not to be trifled with. He holds grudges like you wouldn't believe and he's got the temper from hell. Luckily dealing with him has become an art form it seems, and it gets better with experience, but I steal from people not set out to give them death sentences."

“Allow me to rephrase the question then. What is he?”
The woman already knew he was a magi, so he saw little reason to pretend that he didn't suspect her of being something else. She couldn't have been a vampire, it was the middle of the day and while he knew there were ways for vampires to cheat the sun, they were rare and few in number. Perhaps she was a shifter of some kind? Or even a hybrid like Ayanna? Which could have made her father a full blooded vamp. Vegas did have plenty of them pulling the strings around here, after all.
“You're scared, I get that, but I'm not alone. I have a friend who specializes in fighting off dangerous people like your father, and I'm confident she can match his temper. If you're in danger, we can help. We can make sure your father will never hurt you, or anyone else ever again.”
Ra expected her to decline his offer. Half out of fear, and half because those blood relations were hard to shake off even when your parent was a bad person. Ra was lucky. Both his parents were good-hearted people and he never had to be in the kind of situation this girl was in. Ayanna was certain her birth father killed her birth mother, so she hated him with a fiery passion and would plunge a stake through his heart at first glance. For others family was family no mater how poisonous they were for you.
“Keep the money. I saw an ATM machine a few blocks back, I can make up the difference there. But if you're going to take my money anyway you can at least let me get you coffee or something.”

'Allow me to rephrase the question then. What is he?'
Audrey hesitated but then she sighed and gave in. "Werewolf. Old one." It didn't hurt. Sure it sort of gave her away, but she didn't really have reason to hide what she was. She watched him carefully and she had to keep herself from groaning at him. 'Great so he's paired with some sort of hunter who's going to go after my dead father if I let him. Isn't that nice,' she grumbled to herself. She certainly didn't need that so she shook her head quickly. "Thank you, but that's alright. I can generally handle him. So long as I do as I'm supposed to and pull in cash he's happy."
'Keep the money. I saw an ATM machine a few blocks back, I can make up the difference there. But if you're going to take my money anyway you can at least let me get you coffee or something.'
She let out a little huff of relief and she smiled, but then his request to take her out for coffee registered and she hesitated, her smile faltering slightly.. "I... Ah that's not really necessary. Thank you though." She gave a shrug, but just at that moment her stomach turned on her, rebelling against the delay in her quest for food. She felt her cheeks heat to a light red as her stomach growled and she grimaced at the volume. "Maybe another time?" she tried earning her another growling protest from her hungry stomach making her blush deepen. Today was not her day.

“How old?”
Generally the older something was, the hardest it was to kill. Vampires, werewolves, etc., the oldest were still around for a reason. Their survivor skills were unmatched by many that came into the same world as them. Even his own kind had to learn how to survive after being so close to extinction. An older werewolf could cause a problem, especially if they were an Original. Ayanna had fought a lot of things since she started hunting, but an Original was something neither had encountered. They knew because you always knew when you encountered an Original. They made it known after throwing you on your ass.
Ra frowned when she declined his offer. That wouldn't stop him, though. He'd just have to rely on other means to track him down. Ayanna was good at that sort of thing. Ra would have to put in some overtime too. Between the two of them he was confident they could pull it off. Ra and Ayanna made a good team for a lot of reasons, and it was unorthodox for a magi to be paired with a vampire, even if she was half human. When he heard Audrey's stomach growl, he raised his eyebrow at her, the expression on his face making it clear he wasn't being fooled.
“I think your stomach wants it to be now. Come on, I don't bite.”
Ra could only chuckle at the irony of saying that to a werewolf.

'How old?'
Annnd that one got a shrug for a response. It had been so long she didn't remember exactly how old he had been when her brother offed him, so she didn't have a number to add a hundred to. But as far as he needed to know, she just wasn't going to tell. Secrets could come in handy. So that was exactly what she was going to keep. Let him try to hunt him down. Would be fun to watch, especially without a name. But she was hoping nothing came of that. She didn't want to get confronted on that. Though she wasn't planning on letting this meeting be much longer, nor was she planning on repeating it.
'I think your stomach wants it to be now. Come on, I don't bite.'
Audrey snorted and rolled her eyes at that, but she couldn't help smile a bit at it. "Unfortunately I think you are right about that one." No escape apparently. At least this guy seemed pretty nice. She wasn't getting roped into talking more with some asshole resisting the urge to smack him around the whole time. So she nodded. "So... It's your treat you lead the way. Oh and my nae is Audrey." He was buying her food, if that didn't warrant knowing her name she wasn't sure what did.

“That old,” replied Ra to the shrug.
Ra was glad to see a smile come out of her, even if it followed an eye roll, but he had seen plenty of those to not be bother by it anymore. Now he had a name, which would come in handy later. He didn't have a last name, and he doubt he'd be getting one. The girl was clever, if she didn't want him to track down her father she wasn't going to give any information that could help. He'd have to do it the hard way. How many Audreys could there be? Knowing his luck there'd be one-hundred thousands he'd have to go through. There was still the question of her age, werewolves could live just about as long as vampires, but he wasn't going to ask her age. That was just rude.
“I'm Ra. It's nice to meet you, Audrey. Your mugging notwithstanding.”
Ra teased, before turning around to lead.
“I saw a sushi place a little ways up from where we met.”
It was a good thing Audrey only took cash money, and not his debit card, or his ID, or pretty much any of the other stuff in his wallet she could have used to screw him over later. Those things he wouldn't have been able to look the other way on. He still had plenty of money left over in the bank to where the cash lost wouldn't have hurt him much. Not to mention all the money Ayanna had thanks to him giving her those winning lottery numbers, so there was no short of cash flow for the two.
Ra led Audrey into the sushi restaurant, holding the door open for her as they made it inside. If you had said he was going to be robbed by a beautiful woman and ask her out just a few minutes later he probably would have laughed in your face. Well, he didn't see it as a date-date, just buying a girl dinner. Was there a difference? He wasn't going to think about it now. The waiter brought them over to their table and Ra pulled out her seat for her, hoping she wasn't the type to get annoyed by the gesture. He would gladly stop if it bothered her. Ra picked up the menu on the table and began flipping through it before looking back at Audrey.
“You ever have sushi before?”

'I'm Ra. It's nice to meet you, Audrey. Your mugging notwithstanding.'
She laughed freely at that and shook her head. She kept close to him, falling into step beside hi as he lead her towards a place to eat. "It's a pleasure to meet you as well, even if getting caught stealing wasn't on my list of things to go today." So it was really annoying to get caught, but even so, she was having a hard time being upset with him. He was just so pleasant and friendly. It was nice, since normally something like this tended to end with running and yelling and general unpleasantness.
Sushi huh? She smiled as they got to the place and she walked in past the door Ra was holding open for her and she looked around enjoying the feel of the restaurant. It was nice. She walked to the table and she smiled gratefully at him as he pulled out her chair. Now that was a gesture she hadn't seen in a while. Most just didn't see the need for it any more it seemed. It was pretty nice to see that Ra was a gentleman and that chivalry wasn't dead. Which gave her pause. Here she was, a thief by profession and she was talking about chivalry. Nice. But his voice shook her out of her thoughts.
'You ever have sushi before?'
She nodded, smiling brightly. "I have! It's pretty good stuff, in my opinion." She looked at the menu, but to her hungry stomach it all sounded amazing and she really just couldn't decide on what she wanted. She grimaced when her stomach decided to growl again and she put the menu down. "I have no idea what kind I want... Go ahead and order for me if you'd like," she smiled offering a little shrug.

Good, she wasn't offended by the chivalry. Some women had something to prove, they didn't like any kind of assumption that they needed a man for something. That's why Ra was always nervous when he performed the gesture. He never knew if they were going to yell at him for it or thank him. Ayanna just grunted and walked on by when he held the door open for her. Talk about mixed signals. Ra was relieved when Audrey said she had sushi before. The last thing he wanted to do was bring her somewhere unknown, or a place she hated. Then again she seemed like the type of woman who would have made it known if she didn't want sushi. The problem seemed to be from not knowing what to order.
“Um. Okay.”
When the waiter came, Ra ordered the Ebi for himself and the Tai for Audrey and gave the waiter their menus. Now there was no telling how long until they got their food. The place looked rather busy so it could be a while. Hopefully her stomach would survive.
“So... live around here?”

She smiled as he ordered for the two of them and she glanced around. Busy place. But he was pretty sure her stomach would be fine. She knew what hunger was and she could easily survive it, even if it was really annoying. But such was the life of a wandering thief. You didn't always have enough to live off of. Right now she was lucky. She had plenty to use for her nice hotel room and to go shopping with.
'So... live around here?'
Audrey looked back and Ra and she smiled. "I do actually. Fairly recent thing, if I'm being honest, but hey sometimes being a thief means travel. I'm hoping to not have to for a while though. Been on the move for too long." Really six solid years of moving from place to place. It was strange. She had spend her whole life before that either in New York City prior to her father's death and then here in Vegas afterwards. "How bout you? You living here or just passing through?"

“You... been out and about long?” asked Ra in a subtly way to gauge how old she was. When he was younger he used to ask girls what grade they were in as a sneaky way to get their age. Ever since graduation that really didn't work anymore, and Audrey didn't look like a high school student. Wouldn't be a bad reason to go back to school, though.
“Passing through. Sort of. I have a feeling we might be here a while. There are a lot of things to do still and this is only our first day out on the town.”
Ra then thought it was probably a good idea to forewarn her about his partner now. She was nice enough to warn him about her father, so it was the least he could do.
“My associate can be a bit of a hard ass, but I assure you that she has a good heart. Just... please don't steal from her.”
Had it been Ayanna in Ra's place, she would have traced Audrey scent from her wallet and shot her without a second thought. It was that “shoot first, ask questions later” mentality that got them in trouble nine times out of ten. Just another reason for Ra to dislike the mid-west. Everyone was trigger happy as hell. Audrey was smart, and hopefully would have backed off the second she caught the smell of vampire, but Ra only knew her for a few minutes. It was hard to hell what she'd do in that situation. Ra knew all too well what Ayanna would do.
“Please.”

'You... been out and about long?'
Audrey shook her head. "Wandering around? No. Only six years. I was fairly stationary before that. It was nice and it's certainly what I'm hoping for again." It would be a nice change of pace to have a home and what not, though she did still want to find her mother. Maybe once she settled in again and patched things up with her brother she could make Vegas her base of operations and still look around for her. Yeah that sounded like as good a plan as any.
'Passing through. Sort of. I have a feeling we might be here a while. There are a lot of things to do still and this is only our first day out on the town.'
The wolf nodded at that. She knew all about just passing through. Nothing wrong with that though. She was certainly curious about what it was they were doing. She figured it was hunting, since Ra had mentioned they could take care of her father for her. She hoped for their sake they weren't trying to be too crazy. There were too may big time creatures out there calling the shots all around the city for just two people to take care of. But they'd figure that out on their own, hopefully. But then she was being asked not to steal from his partner. She raised an eyebrow at that and then she smirked a bit. Well maybe she could use that request to her advantage. "Fine. I won't steal from her. Just don't go after me or my family in return. Seems like a fair trade." And in this way even though she and Cai weren't on good terms, she could try and keep him from getting hunted.... Not that she was really all that willing to hand out any names. They could still manage to dig things up she didn't want him to know. Mostly how her father's already dead.
