Rebekah Adriana Martel

[attr="class","appcontent2"]Rebekah is strong, manipulative, clever, ambitious and intelligent. Rebekah has a short temper, but she tries her best not to show her anger. She tries to hide her emotions while talking to someone for the first time. Euphemia is very protective of her friends and sort of possessive about them. She needs time to adjust to the idea of sharing her friends with someone else. Rebekah will only burn with even more envy if anyone close to her starts spending less time with her and more time with someone else.

[attr="class","appcontent2"]Rebekah was born into a aristocratic family, she was the daughter of Henry and Annabelle Martel, in Reading, Berkshire in the year 1290. Her father was the Duke of Devonshire and her mother the Duchess and a socialite, her father attended the court of Edward I of England. Rebekah was the second daughter and the fourth child of the Martel's. She had two older brothers, James and Gabriel and an older sister Elizabeth, James and Gabriel were 9 and 6 years older than Rebekah respectively, and Elizabeth was only 2 years older than her. Elizabeth and Rebekah got along very well due to their being close in age, Rebekah and Gabriel were close as well.

Her parent's marriage was one of convenience and Henry had never loved Annabelle, and took many mistresses. Rebekah had many half-siblings, but she doesn't know them personally. When Rebekah was 6 her younger siblings William and Anne were born, they are twins. Rebekah loved her brother William, but she was jealous of her younger sister Anne who became her mother's favorite daughter, Rebekah was the favorite before Anne was born. When Rebekah was 11, her mother, Annabelle became pregnant again, Annabelle died an hour after giving birth to a baby boy, the boy too died hours after his mother.

Rebekah's older brothers had started attending court with their father when they were old enough to understand the on-goings at court. Rebekah and her sister Elizabeth were to be ladies-in-waiting for Edward I's second queen Margaret of France. Elizabeth was then married off to a Earl at 13, her husband being 19 years her senior. Her brother James married his wife, Alice who was a 10 year old girl, much younger than he was, he took many mistresses until Alice became of age. Gabriel had also married, his wife Eleanor was much older than him and Gabriel hated her. William and Anne were much younger and were only betrothed to children of some lord.

When Rebekah was 14, her father took her to court with him to introduce her to the young Prince Edward, who was just three years older than her, in hopes of having her marry him. Rebekah instantly took a liking to the young Prince, and the two got along well. Rebekah and Edward spent more time with each other as they grew up, this started to change when a young man named Piers Gaveston also spent time with the two. Rebekah was slightly jealous at first but she started to develop a friendship with Piers soon.

When Rebekah was 21, her father Henry asked Edward (II) if he would marry Rebekah, but he refused saying they were only friends. Rebekah's father also got proposals from eligible men for Rebekah's hand in marriage. Rebekah finally agreed to marry, Roger Mortimer, who had asked for her hand in marriage, but Roger broke their betrothal and married another woman. Rebekah had only agreed to marry Roger because her father had pressurized her and she did not feel very bad because of this, but she felt insulted at being cast aside. Rebekah's then turned down every man who asked for her hand in marriage after this incident.

When Rebekah was 25, she was returning home from a ball with her bothers Gabriel and William and their father, when they were attacked by someone or something. Rebekah was hit on the back of her head with something heavy before anything was done to her, she wasn't completely knocked out but enough for her to not be able to do or understand what was going on. Rebekah was turned into a vampire by Victor, and he made Rebekah drink his own blood. And her father and brother's were turned by Seraphine.
When she woke up again after what seemed like and eternity, she was home in her bed, with her sister Elizabeth sitting on the edge of her bed, William and Gabriel standing next to her bed. Elizabeth left after confirming Rebekah was alright.

After Elizabeth left, Rebekah's brother Gabriel explained everything to her. He told her that they were turned and their older brother James died during their turning. Gabriel told Rebekah that there also was a new addition of people living with the Martel's, two vampires Seraphine and Victor, who had attacked the family a few nights ago. Rebekah then met Seraphine and Victor, she took a instant dislike towards Seraphine, who seemed to be flirting with Henry. Seraphine soon became Henry's mistress after living with them for a few months. And Victor began seeing Rebekah's younger sister Anne, Rebekah was not very happy about this, she was jealous of her sister, but she refused to admit that she was. Anne died of a illness. Rebekah's father soon grew tired of Seraphine and asked Victor to get rid of her, which surprisingly Victor did. Rebekah asked Victor about it, but he did not reveal why he had complied to what her father had asked him to do.

Rebekah did not see much of Edward since the time he was crowned King, and she began to spend her time with Piers Gaveston (when he was not in company of Edward). Rebekah had become very close to Piers and she soon fell in love with him and they began an affair. She even visited him when he was imprisoned and before his execution. She had asked permission to do so, which was granted. After this, Rebekah's father asked Victor if he would marry Rebekah, but Victor and Rebekah both declined. Rebekah spent most of her time with her brothers, Victor and her sister Elizabeth, until Elizabeth died after giving birth to her last child, because of the age at which she had her child.
Rebekah visited Edward when he was imprisoned by his wife and her lover a few times, she also visited him before his death. She was present at King Edward III's coronation.

Rebekah moved to London and then back to Reading with her family a few years later, so no one would get suspicious of them, because they never got older and they didn't die. The Martel's took Victor with them everywhere, he had become a part of their family. They lived in London for a few years before returning to Reading, and then moving to Scotland and staying there for a few more years. Rebekah's brother, William then suggested that they move to the United States, the family including Victor then moved to U.S and settled in Las Vegas. where Rebekah is now a clothing designer. Her father and Victor do not work, Rebekah's brothers William and Gabriel are doctors.
