Ra tensed up when Ayanna recited what he told her. Afraid that Audrey was going to be upset with him for sharing what happened, but to his surprise Audrey didn't. She seemed more sorry for him for what he had to put up with than anything. The F bomb was finally dropped, Ra having expected Ayanna to be the first to spew profanities, as he was slowly losing control of the situation.
“Ladies, please. We're on the same side.”
Ra watched Audrey go over to her purse and take out one-hundred dollars from it. That was quite the haul. To be expected from a skilled thief. Ra couldn't believe he was mentally complimenting her. There was a time where he would have thought stealing was wrong no matter the circumstances. Life soon changed that line of thinking, among other things. When he took the money he looked confused, and concerned.
“But, won't your dad be mad?”

As soon as Audrey told her to fuck off, Ayanna got in her face and looked at her through challenging eyes.
“Make me.”
Ayanna kept eye-contact on the she-wolf, waiting to see what she would do. The hybrid was just waiting for Audrey to give her a reason to knock her on her ass. Her nose has been flaring up with lycan breath ever since she entered this damn apartment.
“I don't give a shit about you or your family, but I know a liar when I see one.”
It wasn't long before Ra spoke up and Ayanna spared him a quick glance.
“Stay out of it, Ra. I'm having a private conversation with wolfie.”
Ayanna watched as Audrey went over to her purse and gave Ra a hundred. Her arms returning to their fold position in front of her chest as she watched the two.

'But, won't your dad be mad?'
Audrey smiled and shook her head. "No. Don't worry about it. This money isn't for him, it's mine. I won it fair and square playing Blackjack. So it won't hurt my father any for me to give up my own money." She nodded at the money and then she looked back at him. She didn't want him to feel bad about it, there was no reason for him to feel sorry or guilty or anything. It was all fine. But she was going to make a point of not talking about her father much. She just didn't need anything coming out of her mouth that could be used against her story. Not right now anyway. But she did have another issue to deal with.
An annoying hybrid who was standing behind her. But her attention was on Ra now, so without so much of a hint as to what she was about to do, she suddenly turned and threw a punch scowling as her fist connected with Ayanna's face. "You don't get to come into my home and pull this sort of shit. You don't want my help? Fine I won't help you. But Ra does, so him I will help. If that helps you in the process, well then you get some help you didn't ask for. Tough shit sweetheart. So fuck off and don't insult me or my family. I'm not here to appease you., and you need to get over it."

It was Ra's turn to scowl in Ayanna's direction. Not much of a private conversation if you have it right in front of a third party. Ra looked down to the money, and back up to Audrey. He planned to exchange the hundred for smaller bills later and just keep what Audrey stole and give the rest back, whether she wanted him to or not.
“Thank you.”
Ra became nervous when Audrey looked back to Ayanna and before he could even react, the werewolf punched the hybrid in the face. Ra dropped the money in his hands and quickly got between the two of them, not wanting this to get any worse than it already was, facing Ayanna and trying to hold her back.
“Ayan, please. Don't. If you care about me at all you won't.”

Ayanna's head turned by the punch, a bruise marking itself upon her face where Audrey punched her. The hunter managed to remain on her feet, head turning back to face the wolf as she balled up her fist and threw a punch of her own right into the lycan's nose with every intent in the world to break it. It was a tactical move, break the nose to cause tears to swell up in the eyes to momentarily blind your opponent. Given the fact her opponent in this instance was a werewolf Ayanna expected the result to be no different from a human man doing it to another human man, despite the fact she threw all her vampire strength into the punch.
Before she could move into a second move, Ra had stepped between them. Holding Ayanna back, pleading with both his eyes and his mouth. The hybrid could have easily pushed him away. His skill was in the magic, not physical fighting. That was where Ayanna shinned the most. The thought of shoving him aside and continuing the fight was tempting since Audrey struck first. It was only reasonable that Ayanna would fight back and defend herself. But she couldn't bring herself to do it. Ra's pleads calming the hybrid as she backed down, only releasing a growl in the direction of the other woman.
“Lucky day, bitch.”

Audrey's head snapped back as a fist collided with her nose and she stumbled back a step. She saw stars blurring her vision and a hand came up, squeezing her bleeding nose. Broken was a possibility, but she knew it took a lot to break a nose. But she wasn't thinking about that right now, instead she focused her attention back on the bitch that punched her. She saw Ra standing in front of her holding the hybrid back and she glared past her hand still pinching her nose.
'Lucky day, bitch.'
She let out a feral snarl in response and she took a threatening step forwards at the same time, but that wasn't meant as any sort of attack. She stood straight after that and she glared, but Ra seemed to have her calm and she wasn't going to push him out of the way to attack her again. Instead her eyes flicked to her hand at her nose and she inspected how covered in blood they were, and the blood trickling down her arm and her chin. She needed to get cleaned up. She spun around and stalk to the bathroom and she started carefully washing her hand, arm and face with a warm washcloth, careful to keep her hand on her nose until the bleeding stopped and then she washed up more. She stared at her reflection in the mirror and peered at her nose. After a while she pulled away and left the bathroom confidant her nose was not broken, though it hurt like hell.

Ra just looked at Ayanna with sad eyes. They weren't even the usual glimpse of disapproval he always aimed in her direction. Just disappointment. Ra was hurt that Ayanna would treat somebody he liked this way. He never should have brought Ayanna with him to talk to Audrey. He should have came and asked for help by himself. Another mistake in a long list of mistakes.
“Maybe you should wait outside by the bike,” suggested Ra.
Ra turned his attention back to Audrey, who was just coming out of the bathroom when he ran up to her.
“I'm sorry! I'm sorry!”
Ra placed his hands on Audrey's arms to console her.
“Are you all right?”

Ayanna saw the way Ra was looking at her. The etches of disappointment written all over his face. She hated the way he was looking at her. Like she did something wrong. Ayanna was only looking out for him. They didn't know anything about this woman, except that she was a thief, a werewolf, and may have had a dangerous father who would make him regret ever getting involve with her, and SHE was the bad guy? That was bullshit!
“Don't look at me like that. She threw the first punch.”
Ayanna didn't say anything to Ra's suggestion. Standing there as an act of defiance, but when she saw the way he ran to her, consoled her, it ate her up inside. Ra didn't even stop to look at the bruise she received at the hands of Audrey. Not able to stand another minute she stormed out of the apartment and slammed the door shut behind her.

She heard the whole exchange and she was honestly surprised Ra ran up to her checking to see if she was okay. Ayanna was right. She had thrown the first punch. She had lost her cool and started this. Sure Ayanna had totally been baiting her, but she didn't have to do anything about it. She even noticed the nice bruise she gave her, though she wasn't about to apologize, not yet anyway. Maybe eventually but not now. But Ayanna was his friend and his partner. The fact he appeared to be more worried about her instead was a shock to say the least. "Yeah. I'm fine. Nose isn't broken but it bled a lot and I'm pretty sure it's going to bruise up at least a little. But I've have worse."
She watched Ayanna storm out and she almost grimaced and then she watched Ra waiting for him to run after her. That was the way things seemed like they would go in her mind. It was the most likely scenario. But Ra didn't appear to be going anywhere and Kess couldn't help but blink at him confused. "You aren't going after her?"

Before Ra could answer Audrey, he heard the door slam shut behind them and turned to see Ayanna had stormed off. Guilt swelling up inside his conscious as he regretted not checking on Ayanna prior to going over to Audrey, but Ayanna had taken far worse punishment before and came back just fine. Ra still didn't know how tough Audrey was, apparently pretty tough from what he could tell. At least, that was how he was justifying it in his mind so he wouldn't feel like shit. It didn't seem to be working very well. Ra turned back to Audrey and could see the confusion on her face clear as day.
“Ayanna is best left alone when she's angry. I'll talk to her after she cools down.”
Ayanna could be scary in one of her moods. He knew she would never strike him, but there was no getting through to her when she was like this. Ra was pretty sure that choosing to stay behind with Audrey wouldn't have helped matters, but he didn't know what else to do. It felt like every decision he made or would make would just be the wrong one. Beside that, he still had some stuff he wanted to get off his chest, and now was not the time to tell Ayanna.
“I just want you to know, the stuff with Ayan? It isn't personal. She just worries about me. She lost her father in a church fire back home to a... some kind of monster. Ever since she has developed a distrust of the supernatural. It even took me a while to get her to trust me, but look at us now. If it makes you feel any better, I don't think she'd like you anymore if you were human.”
That punch might have actually managed to break her nose, then, though. After that Ra turned around and took a couple of steps away from Audrey before turning back around to look at her. Looking down to the floor as the next thing he had to say made him feel personally ashamed.
“The wildcat we murdered was innocent. He was just trying to defend himself against hunters and we tracked it down and finished the job for them. I haven't told Ayan yet. I don't know how. Part of me is afraid she wouldn't care if he was innocent. I gave Ayanna the wolfsbane she used to subdue it. I played a role in an innocent man's death. I don't know if I can live with this.”

'I just want you to know, the stuff with Ayan? It isn't personal. She just worries about me.....'
Audrey grunted. "Crappy childhood great. That explains quite a bit. But w all got our problems so it's fine. Lord knows mine wasn't all that great. Not that it matters." She shook her head and sighed. Ah well. There was nothing she could do about it. She liked that Ayanna was loyal and looked out for Ra though. And that Ra did the same. It was a good feeling to have someone at your side to have your back. She wasn't going to fault either of them for that. She just really wasn't fond of Ayanna throwing out accusations. Especially since she had been lying and she wasn't ready to admit that yet. She didn't feel bad lying to random strangers, but Ra wasn't just some random stranger anymore and that was becoming a problem for her story. But she could worry about that later.
'The wildcat we murdered was innocent. I don't know if I can live with this.'
"Oh shit," she whispered, her eyes widening. "Look it's really not all your fault. Don't beat yourself up too much okay? I'll make sure you make it out of this and we can get it sorted out. As for that guy... Well..." She broke off and sighed. She walked forwards and pulled him over and sitting him on the bed as she sat beside him, wrapping her arms round him in a sideways hug. "Hunters can be really good at covering their tracks. And face it, there are a lot of humans who would rather believe the supernatural are nasty and evil so they skew reports. It can be hard to find reliable info at first look sometimes. But you can't let this get you too down. From what it sounds like, you and Ayanna are good at taking out the actual nasty ones."

Lord knows mine wasn't all that great. Not that it matters.
“Of course it does.”
Ra offered his sympathies. He didn't know much about her father, but the little he did know didn't lead to a very high opinion of him. Ra was happy to have Audrey's support and comfort, letting her lead him to the bed for a sit down and a hug. It was then that Ra realized he was alone in an apartment with a beautiful woman sitting on her bed, his face turning a bright shade of pink around his cheeks as this realization came.
Ra stood up from the bed, hoping not to offend Audrey in the process as he turned around and looked back at her, staring down at his feet as his blush deepened ever so slightly. Ayanna was probably waiting outside by her motorcycle, mad as hell right now. Ra wouldn't make her wait too long. Hopefully the cool winter air would do her some good while he was in here.
“Thank you. We just need a plan. If there's a chance we can fight off the werecats without killing anymore, then maybe we can rectify what happened in the alley.”
Ra smiled, but that smile was quick to fade when he thought about how well Ayanna and Audrey could work together.
“Do you think you'd be able to settle your differences with Ayan to fight by her side?”

Audrey chose to ignore his sympathies about her childhood. There was nothing that could be done about it and she really didn't want to talk too much about her childhood anyway. There wasn't much to say about it. Her dad was abusive, her Mo left, her brother was really the one taking care of her, and her father used her to con and steal. Up until his demise, when then it was just her and Cai stealing to survive because it was what they knew. It wasn't a great childhood, but really that summed it up.
'Thank you. We just need a plan. If there's a chance we can fight off the werecats without killing anymore, then maybe we can rectify what happened in the alley.'
She watched Ra get up rather quickly and based on his blush she was able to connect the dots fairly quickly and she felt her own cheeks heat up as she watched him, but his words kept her from saying anything and making it even more awkward. They didn't need that since things were already sort of intense and weird for a second meeting. "Yeah... Fixing that and pacifying the cats would be a good thing. But I don't really have much in the way of ideas. Not killing is a good place to start though. No more killing and... I don't know maybe talking to a higher up person?" This wouldn't be easy, but it wasn't impossible.
'Do you think you'd be able to settle your differences with Ayan to fight by her side?'
Audrey scowled and she scrunched up her nose. "I said I'd help you. If that means putting up with her, I'll put up with her. But my family is an off limits conversation topic. I'm not in my family's good graces, so I don't really like talking about it too much and especially not with her and her stupid insults. She has no idea what the family dynamics are and I don't want to deal with it."

“Easier said than done. They probably want to avenge their fallen comrade, and if they come after us wanting Ayanna's head she won't have any problem killing every single wildcat that tries.”
Ra thought about a higher up they could talk to and remembered the night on the roof when that wildcat spoke to them. She talked with authority and might have been reasonable enough to strike a deal with, provided Ra didn't take Ayanna to the meeting.
“There is one woman I might be able to talk to. Kind of tan skin, lots of freckles, monologues like a Saturday morning cartoon villain. Am I ringing any bells?”
Ra didn't expect her to know who she was talking about. It was a big city after all, but just like asking if she was part of a pack, it didn't hurt to ask.
“I know,” replied Ra about Audrey's family. “Ayanna just didn't believe your story, it was nothing personal against your family. I'll talk to her.”
Thinking about the desert he still owe her, Ra figured now would be as good a time as any to lighten up the mood.
“I still owe you desert. How does tomorrow night sound? Pick you up around eightish?”

It really didn't surprise her that Ayanna would kill off anyone of those cats that were after them. She was pretty vicious from what Audrey could tell, and it wasn't exactly boding well for her or Ra. Audrey just hoped she could actually help enough to make a difference. She really didn't have much in the way of friends. As of now all she really have was Ra. She was pretty sure Ayan hated her for what went down, not that she was particularly fond of thy hybrid either, and she knew fr a fact that Cai absolutely hated her for running off like she had six years back. Then her father was dead, but that one she was totally happy about. After what he had done to her, Cai killing the bastard was one of the best things that ever happened to her.
There is one woman I might be able to talk to. Kind of tan skin, lots of freckles, monologues like a Saturday morning cartoon villain. Am I ringing any bells?'
Audrey hesitated in thought and then she shook her head. "Nope... But then again, like I said Havent been here long, all I know is my family and you two. Im severely lacking in the allies department as well. You have me and Ayan. I have you and.... Maybe a grudging Ayan if I'm lucky." She shrugged. I'll keep an eye out for this woman though. If you get a name or something let me know maybe I can track her down. Or help at the very least." She was more than willing to do that. It would be nice to help the out. She listen to Ra about Ayan and she nodded, smiling at Ra obviously thankful for him talking to her. Ayan was good though, since she had in fact been lying to Ra. She was just hopping that wasn't going to come back and bite her in the ass.
'I still owe you desert. How does tomorrow night sound? Pick you up around eightish?'
Audrey laughed at that. "That you do. Tomorrow at eight sounds absolutely perfect. You have anything in mind? Or is it a secret?" she asked as she got up and scooped the money he had dropped when she and Ayan had gotten into a fight. She stood and handed him the hundred and smiled sweetly, happy to be in his company, though she did want him to make sure Ayan was okay and hopefully pacify her.
