With his feet hiked up on the desk while sitting in her chair Andrei casually awaited Kaia's arrival to her office. On the Russian's lap sat folders with some basic information on a few new jobs for the Messor that he was brushing up on before deciding why to assign them to. Might as well get some work done while he was here. It was likely to be awhile after all since he had snapped the neck of anyone who went to tell Kaia of his arrival. At some point he had even convinced one poor unsuspecting guard to retrieve him a glass before informing his sire of his arrival. That idiot now laid on the ground in a heap next to Kaia's desk. The glass he had been given now contained some of the contents of a blood filled flask that Andrei always kept at the ready. He had resigned himself to waiting as long as it took so he made himself comfortable again, turning around occasionally to entertain himself while he read files, wrote comments, and committed details to memory.
Awhile had passed and 1,000 year old vampire was now done with his work and incredibly bored. Where the hell was taking so long? He suddenly began to regret temporarily killing almost everyone in the building‒almost anyway, he was still rather satisfied by the crack of their spines and the thump their body made as it hit the ground. So he went back to waiting, occasionally kicking the arm of the body lying beside him to see if it would move just so he could kill him again for fun but the body never moved after the initial jostle caused by his foot. “Wake up already so I have something to do. You can’t keep my mind off of this if you don’t spring back to life.” he complained, Part of him wished he wasn't here but the other part–the stronger part–wouldn't let him leave either. He turned around so his back was to the door and he sighed heavily before shutting his eyes and relaxing into the chair, resigning himself once again to just waiting for his damn sire to walk it the door.

Kaia wasn’t known to sleep in. Ever since obtaining the secret to the daylight rings she has wasted little time unconscious. There was no time for it, even as an immortal, when there was so much she could still do. If she had had this kind of mindset before obtaining the rings she could only imagine where she would be now. Instead she had sought out everything that could take her mind off her past, make her forget reality, and if it took a few liters of Magi and human blood to do it, the ending result being passing out from the sheer intensity of the euphoria, then she’d take it. It took her over a century to overcome this and centuries more to become the woman she was today –not without trial and error. The Original had already been up for hours already but had decided to take a swim in the pool before starting her work day. She wasn’t expecting anyone so she didn’t bother to rush herself, though as she walked inside from the pool, wrapping the towel around her chest, and noticed none of her guards were around she became suspicious. Instead of taking a shower before getting dressed she headed straight for her office and on the way began to wonder where everyone was. She turned the corner but she was stopped by something hitting her foot, pulling her attention downwards. ”Andrei.” She muttered as she looked down at the guard with his head twisted to the side. It was like Andrei to do this. None of her other progenitors cared much for hurting her personal guards. She wasn’t mad however, in fact the complete opposite. With an amused smirk she stepped over the body. They’d wake up soon anyways, though she certainly wasn’t looking forward to the bitch fest she would receive from them either. “Wake up already so I have something to do. You can’t keep my mind off of this if you don’t spring back to life.” Her sensitive ears picked up on Andrei’s voice as she approached the doors leading to her office. She grasped the handles and with a twist pushed open the double doors. ”I hate to disappoint you but I don’t see any ‘springing’ in my future, especially with life. Maybe if you hadn’t snapped the very necks of those who are supposed to summon me, we wouldn’t be in this predicament.” She said as she made her way towards him, her tone light. ”Now to what do I owe the pleasure?” Her smile turned mischievous and her eyes a lewd. Andrei’s eyes snapped up off the guard he’d been eyeing and met Kaia’s. She was wearing a towel and he gulped. If he had a heart it would be beating furiously, his sire always had a weird effect on him. She both scared and exhilarated him after all. He fought the need to stand up and instead remained seated in her chair, though he was no longer relaxed‒his feet sat on the floor and his back was straight. “Kaia, how lovely to see you again after so long.” He was mostly being sarcastic, he felt abandoned by her. Set free like he was supposed to be someone else’s problem now that she was done with him. He supposed he should at least be happy that he didn’t end up dead like some others did.
The Russian almost changed his mind on why he was here, wanting his first time seeing Kaia in god knows how long to be a pleasant one, but in the end he decided to just get it over with. Maybe they could play nice afterwards, right? He had possible escape routes in mind just in case this went south and that was the real reason all the guards were lying motionless on the ground. “I came by yesterday… Made my way up into what I thought was your living quarters.” He raised a brow before continuing. “Ran into a hybrid named Nykolae… Not a very happy hybrid, is he? Then again, who could possibly be happy when they are being cooped up all day?” there was no hint of amusement in his voice, no sign of a smirk. Instead he was deadpanned and very straight face as he looked up at the woman that made him what he was, “Why?” he questioned, his fingers tapped lightly on the desks smoother surface; a way to busy himself to fight the attraction he had towards Kaia when all that was stopping him was a towel.

Kaia didn't expect a happy reunion considering their last encounter was a few centuries ago, but she wasn't sure if she was quite prepared to talk to him about Nykolae just yet. As far as she was concerned it was none of his business. The fact he even knew about him was sheer coincidence. Kaia knew Andrei was quite clueless as to who the boy really was and what he meant to her, making his opinion on the situation a bit one sided, but she chose not to go into details. No just yet. The old Kaia would have lashed out, reminded him of his place, and demanded to never bring it up again. The new Kaia decided to humor herself and simply responded with a smirk that would have given even the most soulless creature an uneasy feeling.
"And here I thought you were here because you missed me. I see you've already made yourself at home, though." She made her way across the room, her hand holding the ends of her towel together to keep it from falling, a wink sent his way before she opened the refridgerator and pulled out a water bottle filled with fresh blood. Cold wasn't her usual, but on occasion she found pleasure in drinking it cold plus she didn't feel like waiting for the microwave to heat it up. If only she still had her magic.
She would take an extra minute to continue her rant, slowly drinking the liquid as if to stall for time. "What I do with him is my business. If you want to become his personal babysitter then by all means, take him out for a walk. Again." She ended with a hint of harshness to her tone and gave him a glare as if telling him she knew about his little charity case with her eyes. "Why did you take him out?" She inquired curiously. It wasn't in his nature to be nice to strangers and with Nykolae's current attitude she was surprised he didn't rip his head off his shoulders. "He's growing on you isn't he? Repress your fatherly urges for too long? If you wanted a son all you had to do was ask." She said in a teasing manner, finding the humor out of it all.
