"Tell me!" he snarled, eyes as black as onyx and wings outstretched. The man held against the tree struggled to breath as the shadows pressed closer against him, wrapping even tighter around his neck. Already, his eyes were bulging and his skin was turning blue. Humans were so weak. When the man's eyes fluttered, Loki swore and moved his hand absently in the air and the shadows let go of his throat, allowing the man to gasp and choke as he attempted to refill his body with oxygen. Instead, Loki went with a different approach. From the waist of his jeans, he pulled out a rather scary looking knife and sliced it across the man's forearm, spraying blood across the ground. The man howled in pain as the blood continued to pump down his arm and onto the ground. "Tell me where Ren is!" he snarled, bringing the knife up to the man's throat, the blade drawing forth a line of red. The man let out a sound that sounded much like a sob.
"I told you! I don't know nobody named Ren! I swear it! The only demon I know is you! Even those supernatural freaks that live 'ere in Vegas are nothin' compared to you! I think I would know if there were another like you wandering around! I swear it!?" Loki glared at the man. He wasn't satisfied with that answer. Not knowing where Ren was, was the real problem here. For awhile, Loki had been able to keep tabs on his brother and keep just one step ahead of him. But within the last hundreds years, it seemed Ren had simply... dropped off the globe. It was possible the Angels had gotten him but he seriously doubted it, considering, at the moment, Ren was their most powerful weapon, no matter if he turned out to be a traitor or not. Ren was already a traitor to the demons; oh how easy it would for him to turn on the Angels if one managed to piss him off well enough. Loki couldn't help the smirk that crossed his face. He had always envied Ren who, in truth, had always been a little scary. It was hard to judge what he was thinking and remained, ninety percent of the time, stoic and silent. But piss him off and he was truly a prince among demons. He had to admit; that Divine Weapon he toted around, the black scythe, was pretty badass too. He had always wondered why Ren was jealous of him when Loki had always looked up to him. But trying to find his brother's reasoning was also a lost cause and he was better off just avoiding his brother, rather than coming face to face with him.
Ren pulled his wings in, letting them rest behind him rather than bring them into tattoo form and his eyes returned to normal but his shadows continued to writhe around him like hungry snakes. The man's forehead was covered in sweat and his eyes were wide. The blood gushing from the wound on his arm had made his skin turn deathly white and yet, he was still sticking to his story. Pissed he'd gotten no further with finding his brother after Anya's initial report on his name being mentioned around the city, Loki was done playing games. He pulled the knife away from the man's throat and just as the man sighed in an obvious reaction to feeling safe, Loki brought the knife back in one quick motion and slit his throat, allowing the rest of the blood in his body to gush down his body and soak the ground at his feet. Loki waited till the blood stopped flowing from his body before he allowed his shadows to release the body where it crumbled onto the ground. He turned away from the scene and looked further up the mountain. He'd felt the presence being in Vegas, the unmistakable pulse that heightened his Magik and made him feel refreshed and the closer her got to this mountain, the stronger it got. He couldn't figure out what was causing such a High reaction but he certainly wasn't complaining. Here, on this mountain, he felt like a God and it was here he planned to come face to face with Ren once more and he would not lose this time.

T
he leaves crunched beneath Chrysoberyl as her feet touched the ground, Nathaniel slithering behind her . Spending time with mother nature is always good especially when she spent so much time with technology in the city already. Plus, it's hard to find a free time to enjoy things by herself; only she didn't know someone was there in the mountains already. She stopped at one spot and closed her eyes, taking in a deep breath. The feeling seems very familiar and brought her back to one of the memories she had when she first met Nathaniel. It was a walk like this but in spring, when the cherry blossom trees' branches were blooming beautifully in Japan, making the forest looks like a sweet wonderland. She heard a hissing sound made by a boa constrictor in the distant. She thought she was going to get attacked. She knows suffocation can kill her and that's what boa constrictors do; they wrap themselves around their prey until they suffocate and die. She took a deep breath, not wanting to startle it, or else it would attack and she would be forced to kill it. The snake emerged from a large rose bush to the right side of her and made way toward her. To her amusement, it starts slithering around her and appears to be friendly. She shook her and looked at the snake, Maybe it wouldn't be so bad after all, she thought. Her eyes fluttered open, snapping out of her daze. Something doesn't seem right, she thought and frowned. She senses something odd; a demon smell and it's strong too. It's been quite a while since she sense this smell and it's quite amazing to feel it once more. She glanced at her boa constrictor ''Come on Nathaniel, we have an introduction to do,'' she said and began to walk toward the smell.

However, before he was given the chance to explore the mountain any further, he quickly realized he wasn't alone. And it wasn't human company. The scent was unmistakable but thankfully, not his brother. The wind rushed through the mountain path he was standing on, ruffling the black feathers on his wings and his hair, bringing with it the strong scent of Angel. He clenched his hands and immediately, shadows appeared around him like a dark aura, ready for his every command. He wasn't taking chances. Some Angels had long range weapons and he needed to be quick to outsmart any of the bolts. But he also wasn't about to flee. Demons did not run from Angels. Demons ran from demons with Divine Weapons, however.
It wan't long till she appeared and his eyes immediately scouted for her Divine Weapon. Most days, Angels hid them as common objects, necklaces, rings or even pets. He eyed the snake at her feet, the shadows around him shuddering with the anticipation of an attack but Loki held firm. "Kind of out of place aren't you, Angel?" he asked her, blue eyes hard as steel but a smirk crossing his face. "Being alone out here can be dangerous." Even without Ren at his side, Loki had managed to take down his fair share of Angels who'd tried taking him out after Ren's failure. He'd had an obligation, at the time, to hide his where a bouts and by killing the Angels, cemented his secret where a bouts. He wasn't afraid to do the same to her. He'd lived too long to be taken out so soon, especially by his own flesh and blood.

C hrysoberyl remained quiet, her slender hands playing with the sword pendant hanging from the thin silver line around her neck. It was her divine weapon, the one handed down to her on her early teen years. She didn't expect this encounter to go well, especially when demons always misunderstood that every single angel wants to disintegrate their kind. She doesn't blame them for thinking that way. Thousands and thousands of years flew pass without a change; angels and demons engaging in fiery battles and it seems it won't stop any time soon.
Nathaniel stopped moving any further when he reached her feet and he stared at the demon. She studied his dark black wings that stood behind him and his shadows around him. She looked down on the ground and saw a lifeless body of a man, laying down close to the demon. She looked up at him once more, hoping she wouldn't have to fight this one. She would avoid any bloodshed as much as possible. ''I am not here to fight.''

That was something he didn't hear from Angels, mostly because they were always there to hurt him. He had to admit, it did throw him for a sec but he quickly recovered before she noticed. Instead, he focused on the necklace she was idly handling, confirming the where a bouts of her Divine Weapon. It wouldn't be hard to separate her from her weapon but he was sure the snake at her feet wasn't going to have any of it. His best option was to keep a space between them that allowed for quick thinking if there were sudden movements. So with that plan already set in motion, he focused his remaining attention on her. She was certainly Angel and she had the looks of an old Angel, one that's been around the block more than once. The Angels today, the newer generation, really had no idea what to do when it came to him. He was, after all, a first generation demon. His parents had been the one of the ones who'd been sentenced to earth. They'd lived in both the Divine realm and earth. And he'd had thousands of years to perfect himself. This Angel before him could certainly pose a threat but Loki was confident in himself that the only thing to ever bring him down, would be his brother.
"So you mean to tell me that this meeting is entirely a chance meeting?" He asked her, eyes dancing with humor. "Because I don't believe it. What reason would you have to keep me from killing you here and now?" It was a simple question but he truly was curious to see what answer she could think up that would surprise him.

C hyrsoberyl cocked her head to one side and smiled. She never thought she would meet a demon in a city like this. No wait, now that she thought about it again, it is not that surprising. She should know it would only be a matter of time until she ran into a demon. After all, the City of Sin provides the perfect place for a demon to blend in, considering how crowded and somewhat chaotic the city is. The demon before her doesn’t look like any other ordinary demons which surprised her. This one looks like he had a lot of time to walk the earth, a lot of time to stock up his knowledge and his experience. Her first encounter with a demon in many, many years would be with an old one. If Chrysoberyl wasn’t careful, she might end up wounded pretty badly. Nathaniel glanced up at her, his usual expression that indicates he wanted to be picked up. She leaned down so her pale left hand would touch its head as it slithers up her arm, wrapping itself around it. The thing is, boa constrictors are supposed to be really large but Nathaniel didn’t grow too much over the past few years.‘’I don’t believe you would,’’ she smiled, her light green eyes staring into his, her hands dropping to her side. ‘’If I’m so eager to keep you from doing that I could’ve just run away from the start. But I did not because I believe such a thing wouldn’t happen.’’

"Oh, really? You were confident enough to assume such things? You clearly don't know demons very well." There was a rush around Loki and the shadows around him rose up shrouding him in darkness that couldn't easily be explained. Within seconds, he was in front of her as if he'd simply materialized out of thin air. At her throat, he held the blood splattered knife he'd used to slit the man's throat, the razor edge pressed against her skin. In all honesty, she was probably right. If he had really meant to kill her, he would have done so by now by simply commanding the shadows around him instead of a flimsy knife but he'd chosen to scare her instead. Instead, he acted as though he was threatening to slit her throat but in his other hand, he held up her necklace, careful to keep the actual Divine Weapon from touching his skin. He dangled it in front of her face, a feral look on his face.
"Angels are so predictable. You're right, I won't kill you only because now, you don't pose a threat to me." He took the knife from her throat and took a few steps back from her, keeping his distance from the snake. Not that he couldn't take to the skies in an instant if the reptile decided to attack. He slid the knife back into the waistband of his jeans and idly admired her Divine Weapon dangling from the chain. "It's pretty sad such a thing like this could kill a demon like myself. If the Goddess truly loved us demons, she would have only given you Angels Magik and we could have been done with all this chaos. We could have all lived peacefully and never have bothered with these pathetic humans." He indicated the man on the ground. "Tell me, Angel. Why do you not fear me?"

S he expected nothing less when he pressed the cold, blood tainted blade against her throat. She remained quiet as he took a look at her divine weapon which she don’t have any intentions to use as of at the moment. In all honesty, she doesn’t know what she was expecting to get from this meeting; a demon she had to worry about or someone she would count as an ally? Who knows?
He was right that angels are predictable. Most of the angels run around trying to find as many possible demons as they can and kill them. What were they expecting to get out of that? The satisfaction of getting rid of their brothers? Ridiculous. ‘’If you ask me, angels are pretty much just jealous,’’ she muttered. ‘’We were all loved by our mother and everything was fine until we met our older brother-the demigods. In a sense you could say the Angels are just throwing a big and long temper tantrum because big brother wouldn’t look at them.’’ She glanced at the dead body on the ground and back at him ‘’I don’t think you’re the type to kill someone if that person did nothing wrong such as pissing you off,’’ she smiled. ‘’Just know that I am not a threat now and nor will I be in the future.’’

"Well, that's where you're wrong, first of all." he told her. He turned and walked over to the dead man and picked him up by his hair, allowing the body to dangle rather grotesquely beside Loki like a broken martinet. The man's eyes were still wide with fear but blank as a sheet. "This human was killed simply because he did not give me the answer I wanted. Do not underestimate me. I do not care for affiliations or bloodlines. I care about myself and I'm not afraid to take out anyone in the way, even an Angel who says she means no harm. Please. You cause harm just being here talking to me." He let the corpse fall where it folded in on itself with a sickening crunch. When she still didn't leave, he frowned. He almost wanted to kill her simply because she didn't get it through her head to leave him the fuck alone but, on the other hand, he was curious as to why she thought he wouldn't hurt her.
"Jealous?" he echoed with a small laugh. "Angels were content to allowing themselves to fall victim to Magik before the fucking Goddess went and got involved! Giving you all your stupid little toys." he jingled her necklace as if to prove his point. "Before she sent us all to this pathetic world, she felt sorry for you Angels and gave you Divine Weapons in which to make us equal to you. If anything, it makes you all cowards." he looked at her necklace again and smirked as an idea came over his expression. He turned to her and tossed the necklace back. "Come on. Bring it out and fight me. Let's see how well you do against me. If you truly mean me no harm, I'll easily win, right?" Why not? He was bored and his blood sang with the thought of spreading mischief and a battle against a Divine Weapon was just what he needed for excitement.

She caught her necklace by her hand and put it back around her neck, feeling the silver sword pendant, cold in texture, lightly pressing it against her skin once more. "I can't see why I should fight you," she said, her right hand now softly stroking Nathaniel's head who was staring at her with his black beady eyes, begging her for attention. "Call me foolish all you want and it won't affect me. " "I should let you know i'm on neither side of the war," she said as she pulled her white coat slightly closely against herself. It is this time of the year where the mountains got pretty chilly. She walked forward and pass him, her boots crushing the leaves with every single step she took. It was these little things in life that keeps her going; the crunching sounds of the leaves, the soft blowing wind and so much more. She stopped walking when she was just a couple steps away from him. "I'm just glad to have caught a glimpse of the demon living in Vegas," she said and glanced at him. It was kind of out of place but she was glad she could remain at peace despite the fact there was a pressence of a demon close by-one that was threatening to hurt her in a sense.

"Why?" he echoed. "Because I'm bored!" he said with a laugh. "And it's not often I run into an Angel who isn't immediately trying to kill me. I end up killing them right away and certainly don't have a conversation with them. But now I can see why I haven't. I live for the battle and I want to kill you. So, you either need to fight me to save yourself or just let me kill you."
She walked past him and he raised an eyebrow at her. I'm just glad to have caught a glimpse of the demon living in Vegas, He smirked and waved his arm, shadows appearing out of the ground and from under rocks and trees. They enveloped the Angel like a snake and threw her to the ground. Loki appeared above her, smirking. With an upwards wave his hand, more shadows appeared from the ground and enclosed around her like a cage. Clearly, by the look on Loki's face, he was definitely not bored. "Oh, I think you've gotten more than a glimpse but I wanted to make sure you left with something to remember. You see, I'm not like other demons. I enjoy being a demon and I don't care about the consequences of my actions. Now, I ask you again. Will you draw your Divine Weapon and fight me or am I going to have to kill you here and now? I have no need to stand and have a conversation with you about which side you may or may not be on. There's great power on this mountain and I wouldn't mind seeing just how much stronger I really am here."
A small breeze picked up but the shadows were unwavering. Here, on the mountain side, his power was far greater and he would be able to keep up his shadows much longer than normal. He couldn't help but feel giddy about his little test guinea pig.

Sighing, Chrysoberyl removed the sword pendant from the silver string hanging around her neck. The pendant turned into a sword on her command. The blade was crystal white which seems to glow just a little and the handle was jade green, gems and stuff carved onto it. It was the same as the divine weapon handed to her from her parents back when she was a teenager. She held the sword in her hand, her past memories swimming inside her mind. It was pathetic to even think of the past since she made it this far.
She has to admit, this is a bit annoying and frustrating. First time in a long time she had time to visit Mother Nature and this kind of stuff happens. She should have known he’s not going to let her walk away easily and continue on exploring the mountain. She should have just turned back when she had the chance but her curiosity took over.
She stood up and dusts the dirt off of herself and wrapped her snake around her neck instead, just like what you would do with a scarf so it won’t interfere much in the way of the fight. In mind, she doesn’t think she would be attacking much, maybe just defending herself as violence isn’t her cup of tea.
