Personality
[attr="class","appcontent2"]A subliminal powerhouse, Diana has a passionate personality with firm opinions where nothing is grey. Its either black or white. If you do something, you do it all the way. If you hate something, you really hate it and if you love something, you really love it. There is no in between in Diana's mind.
Diana needs control and power and will stop at nothing to get what she wants, becoming a fierce competitor should someone step over into her boundaries. She is unlikely to compromise or budge an inch, her opinion locked in. This can be good or bad, on one hand, as Diana typically succeeds due to her determination but often comes into conflict with others who like to be in control and be the leader in the situation.
Diana is working on mastering the art of manipulation and to use it as a key to get what she wants without others knowing what she is doing. Sly and sneaky, Diana is still on the path of learning not to sting everyone because it can and will come back to sting her. Digit has the ability to be evil and sadistic but keeps it hidden unless needed, due to worry that people would turn on her if she acted that way.
While her exterior is rock solid, inside she is sensitive and emotional. Easily offended and hurt but with an excellent memory, Diana hardly ever forgives anyone who has crossed her and holds a grudge like no other. Trust is very important to her, for she hardly trusts anyone. Di is secretive and doesn't want people to get too close to her but on the other hand, she wants to get close to other people.
Diana is filled with so much passion and power that at times she finds herself going into self destruct mode, her temper exploding at those unfortunate enough to be near her. When change comes her way, Diana gets heated and her mind starts to buzz as she feels threatened.
While temperamental and manipulative, no one can say that Digit isn't intelligent or determined. Hardworking to get what she wants, Diana has a sleuth-like mind and files away information for use when the time is right. She is very observant and likes to know the details behind things.

History
[attr="class","appcontent2"]Like all merfolk, Diana was born on land and not in the water. Her mother, Marina, had had an affair with a human man, Niall Waverly. Nine months later Marina and Niall were married and had Diana, who kept her parents very busy at the beginning of their marriage. It was a bumpy start, especially due to Marina feeling the pull of the ocean in her soul. How she wanted to return, but tradition stated that she wasn't to return until her child showed signs of being able to breath underwater. For fourteen years she remained on land, while Diana grew into a very tech-savvy child, like her father.
Living in Port Townsend, the Waverly's often visited the beach. Each time Marina would watch Diana like a hawk, looking for any sign of a tail in her daughter. By the age of 14, Marina was honestly worried for her daughter (while Niall, on the other hand, was happy with how human his daughter was) when one day at the beach the transformation occurred. Diana had shrieked in terror as she looked down at her legs and saw a tail, and had to be pulled out of the water by her father and quickly dried off before being taken home to be told the truth. And to calm down, for she was hysterical. After all, it isn't everyday that you become the little mermaid.
Once calmed down, Niall and Marina explained to Diana her heritage. Every summer til her high school graduation, Diana would travel with her mother through the ocean, meeting her maternal family members in their true forms while learning all she could about Merfolk culture. And while she enjoyed learning about her heritage, Diana knew that being on land was where she belonged. After all, it was difficult to be an inventor when you live underwater.
Diana went to college and became a security analyst, spending her free time going from place to place, inventing gadgets, and reading up on all supernatural folklore she could. After all, if merfolk existed what else roamed around during the night?
