With an expression of boredom and misery Anaïs watched the clock with purpose. While waiting for time to pass she didn't realize she had lost track of it, and with just a simple nudge was broken out of her trance and reminded it was time for lunch. Anaïs normally was a focused worker. In fact she found work to be fun, most of the time anyways. The days she spent with Savitar training weren't as pleasant as her days in the office but she asked for it. Regardless of the aggravation she didn't regret asking. As much as she hated to admit it Savitar was good at his job and she trusted him, to an extent. He knew more about one-on-one contact with Were's than she did and although she had a personal encounter before she was somehow lucky to escape unscathed. That was the real reason for her request for field training and why she joined the Sentella when the offer was handed to her.
With haste she made her way out the door, through the back entrance and out of the alleyway and down the street. The craving for a jumbo chili cheese dog had been singing tunes in her stomach since this morning, having skipped breakfast on account of her alarm going off late. Because of her rush she didn't have time to fix her appearance either and instead of a simple braid as it usually was her hair was left down to rest on her shoulders. Her jeans, white tank top, and dark brown leather jacket replacing her business attire. Her brown, low cut boots carried her in a light run towards a hot dog stand and with a twinkle in her eyes. "Large chili cheese dog, please." she said after coming to a stop. It only took half a minute for the man to take the money handed to him and hand her an already made hot dog. Almost too excited for her treat of the day she didn't notice the person standing next to her and as she stepped to the side while taking a bite from her hot dog she felt the warm brush of someone else hitting her back. She quickly turned around in mid bite, scared she had possibly spilled something. "I'm so..." she paused and swallowed her food. "sorry. I'm so sorry. Did I spill your food?"

Today Damien found himself in the Big Apple once more he couldn't remember the last time he had been here. Once he was here he had been working in a factory during world war one and then later as a construction worker for a little while before heading north to Canada for a little while. He'd seen so much change in this city and yet again it changed so much he hardly recognized it anymore such was the way his life went being a werewolf and immortal one at that. He knew ones who were turned were only immortal so long as they mated with one who like him was born a werewolf and thus immortal. Some days he had to admit it seemed like a curse and others a real blessing. Human lives were so short and fleeting and so much was crammed into them to make them meaningful and he'd yet to really make any worth of his life yet he was without a pack still and without a love to call his own. It was nearly twelve now so it seemed it was time for him to get up as he managed to sleep in like he preferred probably jetlag he thought but regardless he was up now and ready to take on the day and see the sights it was strange a little being a tourist in the same city for yet a third time and he was sure in the future the city would be so different yet again. He was out of bed with a quick shower before throwing on a black t-shirt and blue jeans with a brown leather jacket over that and some boots with socks as he headed down now from his hotel room and to the garage to fetch his bike. Then he pulled on his helmet and he was off into the city It wasn't long before a pang of hunger hit him and he realized he'd yet to eat. It was about lunchtime so maybe something quick to eat for now maybe later after he'd done enough sightseeing he'd get some real food. He wasn't too picky with what he ate but he wasn't too big on greens really wolves were primarily meat eaters and werewolves were no different really. Whoever heard of a vegetarian werewolf really he hadn't. Soon enough he spotted the famous hotdog stand now that was something he remembered well that hadn't changed much aside from addition of new toppings for hotdogs and sides like chips and a drink. Then he forked over some money for a large chili cheese dog with onions and placed it aside to grab his drink as he popped it open and took a sip looking over to see a woman walk up ordering almost the same thing he did and looked away again to look up at one of the buildings only to feel someone bump into him now and nearly crushed his drink in his grip but deciding against it dropped the drink instead as he turned to look at her now smiling sheepishly as she seemed to be scared he was mad at her now. "Relax I don't bite really so it's no big deal just a drink really," Damien replied as he took a bite of his own hotdog now and swallowed it after chewing it briefly to speak again. "So you live around here then? Must work close by since you walked here am I right?" He asked trying to make small conversation now and it didn't seem too personal to ask those things of her now.

She looked at the drink and immediately felt her cheeks turn hot. "Mon dieu..." she set her hot dog on the counter so she could reach into her pocket and pull out extra change. "I'm such a clutz. Let me pay for a new one." Despite his cool demeanor she didnt know the guy and she most definitely didnt want to get on anyone's bad side during her lunch break.
"So you live around here then? Must work close by since you walked here am I right?" While handing the man the change for a new drink she looked over at the stranger. His question was strange, but not too unusual as it seemed he was simply trying to make small talk. She nodded as she grabbed her hotdog and cradled it in her hands, unwilling to part with it again this time. "Oui." She took a small bite from her hot dog so she could continue. "A block down at one of the government buildings." She lied, but only because she thought telling someone the entrance to her job was an out of order bathroom in a broken down laundry mat, not that she was legally able to share anyways. "And you? Are you from here?"

He could tell she was embarrassed a bit now the way her body seemed to flush now her cheeks turning a bit red now. It was cute really he thought as she seemed to curse herself in french now for her mishap with him now. She seemed to insist on making it up to him now whether he wanted her to or not and smiled sheepishly at that. It was obvious she didn't want to make him angry with her or get on his bad side now. "It's my fault too I should've been paying more attention myself really. Let me make it up to you somehow maybe treat you to some dinner later?" Damien said and then asked with a smile watching as she moved to pay for a new drink for him now. He really didn't want to seem ungrateful and refuse the drink if it made her feel better then he would accept it if it made her relax more now. She didn't seem to mind his questions thankfully though they were probably obvious that she did live around here so he felt a little stupid asking her that question now. He'd shrug at himself as he took another bite of his own hotdog now as she seemed to do the same before confirming that she did work just around the block from here and nodded at that. "Ah I see then the pay must be good there I imagine. A lot more than racing bikes probably but I can't complain I have a passion for fast bikes and the adrenaline rush it gives me," Damien replied with a sheepish grin on his face now. He did note she seemed to lie about where she worked but he didn't think much on it if it was a goverment job then she was probably sworn to secercy and couldn't just go telling any ole stranger about what she did there. He'd grab his new drink now and eyed it briefly before looking to her at her questions. "Nah not really just a tourist really. I travel a lot but I do currently have a residence in Las Vegas for now but I'm not sure how long I'll stay there really," Damien replied as he ran a hand through his hair now scratching a little now. "Where are my manners though I have yet to give you my name or ask for yours. Damien Wolf at your service ma cherie," Damien spoke again now and gave her a slight curtsy bow now.

She almost choked on her hotdog at the mention of dinner. Not because it was him asking, but because it wasn't something that happened to Anais that often. Or never for the most part. The thought that someone actually wanted to take her out to dinner warmed her soul but she was quickly reminded not to become lost in her fantasies by the realization that fairytales only happen in the stories, and this was real life. For all she knew he could be the charming type, willing to say or do whatever it took to get in her good graces. He wouldn’t be the first actually. ”Actually, it’s not all glitz and glamour. Sure I get paid more than the average joe but the hours are longer and the work is a lot more dangerous.” And that was true, being a Sentella Agent. The risk that came with protecting the people wasn’t just for the mortal police officers protecting those against their own kind, but for supernaturals against humans as well and if someone had to ensure the safety of humans in the supernatural driven world it had better be a force to be reckoned with. Anyone who joined the Sentella was tasked to a specific Were -Anais showing a biased interest towards the wolves- and had to prove their worth. For most it was physical skill but for Anais it was more intellectual. It wasn’t necessarily the most lucrative position nor the most exciting, but it satisfied Anais’s passion for knowledge and frankly that was good enough for her.
”But if you’re doing something you love it shouldn’t matter how much you’re paid.” She said before taking another bite from her hotdog and listened intently, stopping mid chew when he gave her a curtsy bow. She wondered why he was so far from home but decided not to ask right away, saving the curiosity for later. ”Anais Nolan.” She smiled. ”You know French?” She asked with the slight tilt of her head.

"Sorry I know that must have been so sudden ask since we just met but at least let me walk you back to your building if that isn't too much," Damien replied as she seemed to nearly choke on her food so surprised by his request and expected her to really deny his request she probably had other plans already a pretty woman like her with such a sweet french accent when she spoke. She didn't really seem used to being approached like this and seemed a little shy really like how she panicked when bumping into him earlier instead of snapping at him and chewing his ears off like some new yorkers normally would. He was just being nice to her really and wanted to seem friendly more than anything though he liked to think he had a certain charm about him that most women seemed to like unless they were gay. "Well it must be for a good cause then if you keep doing it still so that seems more important to you than money to me," Damien replied with a smile finishing off his own hotdog now. He'd never held a job for too long until recently when he took up racing bikes mostly on the underground scene and sometimes illegal one at that but it paid good money so he put up with the potential consequences because of that. He had trouble picturing doing one of the more common jobs like being a cop or some desk job like she seemed to have it just wasn't him really he thought he was beginning to wonder if he might ever find his true calling someday or a purpose worth holding onto like he once had with Irisa and her father's pack as an enforcer. "Of course what I do is my passion money is just a nice bonus and necessity to get by in this world with really," Damien replied as he popped open his drink to take a few sips now before looking at her again. "A lovely name and well I spent a little time in Canada so I picked up some there. I've never actually been to France but someday I'd like to see it among other places," Damien replied with a smile now. "I'm actually from Italy myself born and raised there," he replied which wasn't a total lie he had been raised there into his teen years before his parents were murdered and he was forced to leave with the pack to find a safer and quiet place to live.

She was hesitant to take his offer to walk her back, as generous as it was. She felt strange taking him to a random place and pretending to walk in but it would be better than accidentally leading him to the Sentella Headquarters. Not only would she get fired, jail time may be in her future if she were to slip up. It seemed rude to decline however so in the end she nodded and began to walk with her hotdog in hand, leading him towards a random direction. "You should always do what you love. Nothing less." She agreed with his life-style of living free but in reality knew it wasn't necessarily something for her.
She appreciated the subject change so she gave him her full attention while trying her best not to run into anyone along the way. The last thing she would need was to look like a klutz in front of a cute guy. It was surprising enough that he was still talking to her. Then again he could just be that nice. She was even quite intrigued to learn about his love for racing, and though she couldn't personally relate she felt she had just gained a little piece of information about him that made her feel more comfortable with him; like he was a friend. Anais was a woman of intellect and always felt more comfortable when she had all the facts. "I've always wanted to visit Italy. I've heard that the scenery is magnifique." She ended in her more natural, French accent towards the end, a habit that occurred often when she became nervous. "How long have you been away from home?"

Damien knew it was rather sudden asking for a date but didn't think much of just asking to walk her back to her work building now it wasn't like he'd follow her inside really or creep on her. He was too much of a nice guy really to do that unless you pissed him off by trying to attack him or those close to him then you had a problem with him and the jet black furred beast he could become at any moment's notice. He noticed her hesitation but he would never force her to allow him to do so if she didn't want him to do so he wouldn't be mad really if she wanted to part ways here and now she had work really and he'd hate to keep her from that really. She seemed to accept his offer though as he threw away his trash now and followed alongside her now as she walked along now assumingly to her work building now. "Yeah my mother used to always say to me. I like to race and feel that adrenaline rush go through me. Still I think I might open up my own garage someday and work on bikes there," Damien replied smiling as he looked back to her now. He'd still race from time to time but he wanted to spend more time with his other passion working on and fixing up bikes for other people so they could enjoy their passions the same as him. He could only really imagine what Anais's passions might me and what she dreamed for surely noble things as kind and sweethearted as she seemed to be. "Yeah I used to love the sunsets there and taking a walk through the countryside. The pasta is really to die for there italian food here cant compare to how it's made back there," Damien replied with a sheepish grin on his face now. He could remember making such a mess trying to eat spaghetti when he was a kid his mother liked to use a little too much tomato sauce sometimes. "Couple of years now I go every so often to visit my family graves," Damien replied he'd come to assume they were all dead now. Even though the bodies of his brother or sister were never recovered he came to believe they were dead if they hadn't been turned into anything. He'd frown a little at the thought as they headed into an alleyway now and looking up noticed some men appear now and stopping Anais he looked back now to see a couple men behind them now as well. "Look now I don't want any trouble just let us go," Damien spoke now staring down the one he assumed was the leader now. "Give us everything in your pockets and we might let you two go if we're satisfied," the leader spat in return a smirk on his face now ordering his boys to shake them down now.

Anais smiled at the mention of family, though the thought of them six feet under didn't give her any satisfaction in the slightest. In fact, she felt sorry for the guy and hoped he had someone left still alive. Anais was gifted with the presence of both her parents and found herself silently thanking God she still had them. Death wasn't a stranger to the petite blonde; but it wasn't a friend either.
"I'm sorry." She said softly, wanting him to know she gave her condolences for his loss. She would have added onto her kindness as they rounded the corner if she wasn't interrupted by an unfamiliar voice, a deep, hoarse tone with the intent of violence. Suddenly she stopped, her eyes grew wide with surprise and her heart began to pound with fear. Not necessarily for her life though the chance of it coming to an abrupt end was high, but for their lives. As a government agent Anais was assigned a gun and a badge and despite the details of her job pertaining more towards the more unnatural, she still had the right to defend herself if in danger.
"Seriously?" She sighed, almost as if unfazed by the group. Quickly she pulled out her gun and held it to the leaders chest. "Everybody back off. I'm an officer." She commanded, and though the men surrounding them changed his demeanor their leader didn't seem so easily swayed. In one fell swoop he lunged forward and grabbed the gun, twisting her wrist before she could react and felt her grip on the gun loosen. She managed to get in one good swing to the face before she was pushed forcefully into the brick wall, hitting her head and let go of the gun. The initial blow made her vision go black and her arm extended out to grab the wall to keep herself from falling. It was hard to hear or see what was going on around her but before she knew it she felt herself falling to the ground and witnessed the blurred image of fighting before she passed out.

Damien would smile sadly at her in return before focusing on the path in front of him now. He'd grown used to his life and solitude and looking out for himself now. Didn't mean he didn't still mourn their deaths and didn't stop him from wondering what had become of his siblings since their bodies had never been recovered and by the time he found the ones responsible for his parent's deaths he was too late to go back and look for his siblings. They had probably run away on their parents orders and by now had probably died if they hadn't been turned into something else before dying of old age if they even lived that long life expenctancy for humans back then wasn't that high really being a werewolf he had been lucky really. "Thanks Anais means a lot to me it really does. I think they would've liked you for sure," Damien replied smiling sheepishly at her now. She was so kind and sweet really he couldn't imagine her ever really hurting someone else or a fly even but he had learned some people really couldn't be judged by their cover but what lie within their pages and he could only find out in time what kind of person she really was but for now felt like he could really trust her she really did seem kind and sincere. He really didn't want to keep her from her work but hoped he could see her after work and spend a little more time together getting to know each other better now. It seemed though plans to get her back to work on time would be delayed as some would be muggers appeared before them now. He'd frown a little as they stood their ground and blinked a little looking to her as she drew a gun on them and said she was a cop or well assumed she was one of some kind anyways. He only realized too late as the cologne masked the man's scent that he was a were of some kind and before he could grab her wrist and pull her back the leader jumped forward and disarmed her. The hit did little to faze the male wolf before he knocked her away and growled a little before leaping into the air and knocking the wolf down slammed him hard into the ground now and snarled unleashed a deafening roar now as his eyes glowed red as his teeth became more fang-like and sharper. He'd then scrunch his nose as he realized the were pissed himself before fainting and then his two boys charged at him with bats in hand now and one by one he leapt to the men and knocked them down knocking them out with a single punch since they were only humans. "I did warn you guys," he said to himself now and looking back towards Anais walked towards her now eyes still glowing red now his teeth back to normal at least. Seeing she passed out he collected her and her purse taking her back to his hotel room now to watch over her until she awoke again so he could explain what happened to her now.

When she started to gain consciousness she didn't jerk up, but instead slowly opened her eyes only to bat them a few times as her eyes adjusted to the light. Before she could even form a thought a searing pain shot through her head and her hand jerked up to rest on her temple, as if putting pressure on it would do any good. As one did when in pain she let out a hiss. Anais had never had a headache like this before in her life and for a brief moment thought she might have a concussion. "Damn that hurts." She cringed, her hand steady on her head as she sat up. Once in a sitting position and her eyes were adjusted to the light she looked around at an unfamiliar sight. Luckily for her she retained her memory of what happened but that didn't matter when she realized they were no longer out in public and in a room she had no knowledge of its location.
Before she even saw Damien she could feel his presence. The feeling of being watched washed over her like a waterfall so it was clear that she wasn't alone. It was also obvious by the fact she still had all her clothes on and didn't feel funny from anything other than her head she didn't have anything to worry with Damien, but considering she had just met him, and the blurred image of him just before passing out, had her on edge. He wasn't normal, that much was for sure but in her condition at the time it was difficult to catch the details to be certain. The more she thought about it the more her head pounded like a drum being playing inside her head until finally she had to stop thinking all together.
"You wouldn't happen to have any aspirin or aleeve by any chance? They really got me good." She asked, moving her eyes to look up but quickly darted back down to ground level at the first sting of pain. Despite the uneasy feeling she now got from him she didn't feel the urge to run. She felt no fear, the pain easily taking care of that. Not that she could get very far in her condition anyways, her eyes scanned the room until she found the exit. Just in case.

Protecting Anais. @ishy8 words: idc | Damien felt sorry for the wolf really but he had to put him in place and only an Alpha could really strike fear into a lesser wolf. Something about the position made them that much stronger and bigger physically but also their howl and bark was more powerful as well a means to force a lesser packless wolf into submission but it didn't always work some were cocky or too strongwilled but this guy clearly was all bark and no bite and cringed a little when he smelled he had well wet himself with fear. "Um sorry man my bad," Damien replied smiling weakly as he got off him now and moved to collect Anais. He didn't think she heard or saw much really she'd hit her head a little hard there but didn't seem to be hurt too bad really. He didn't know where she lived and thought it'd be a little creepy if she woke up with him there so he took her back to his hotel room and laid her gently down on his bed sitting next to her like she was some patient in a hospital bed now.
He'd only closed his eyes for a few seconds but he was soon asleep and snoring loudly now. He wasn't sure how long he had slept but soon enough he heard Anais curse and jumped a little. "I'm up," he yelled and opened his eyes and trying to focus a little they began to glow red in the dark briefly before returning to normal and hoped she didn't see that as he smiled sheepishly at her now. His eyes meeting hers he could see she was a little uncomfortable here though it seemed to be more directed at him and moved to grab her purse handing it to her now. "I'm sorry about that really but I ran em off and got your things back," Damien replied and moved to grab her some aspirin now and a glass of water handing both to her now. "So what do you remember exactly?" Damien asked a little curiously now looking back to her now. multiply life by the power of two |

She hadn't actually noticed he was asleep until he jolted up in his seat as if suddenly woken up for fear of being caught and punished. Just as he opened his eyes she looked over at him, just in time to see his eyes glow red before returning to normal. Her heart stopped in her chest. Her doubts from before now became the new scary reality, but, for once, she wasn't scared and in fact more intrigued by the stranger than ever. When he seemed to be unsure if she had seen his eyes or not she decided to leave the matter alone, thinking if he believed she didn't see anything he would keep her alive. It was common knowledge the supernatural didn't take too kindly to being outed because of their differences, and with her being confined to a small, unfamiliar room, she felt it was best to not make her situation any worse by pissing him off. She had already pissed one off and managed to escape unscathed but there was no guarantee she would be so lucky a third time.
She held out her hand when he handed her the medicine and water, and without hesitation downed the pills as if they were mere candy. It took her a brief moment to respond, uncertain what they best - or safest - answer would be. "You mean before or after you made that guy piss himself?" She said with a laugh, finding the situation amusing to say the least. "That was really brave of you to defend me like that. I really appreciate it. That and not taking advantage of me while I was knocked out." After that she felt a little awkward for saying it, her cheeks turning to a soft pink, but it was the truth and because of it she would be forever grateful. "Where...exactly are we, by the way?" She asked as she looked around the room, deciding whether it was a hotel room or a really nice apartment.

Protecting Anais. @ishy8 words: idc | It was a force of habit really when he fell asleep in dim lighting like his hotel room had. He wasn't sure if she had noticed or not at first but she did seem slightly spooked by him now. If she had he figured she'd maybe write it off as some trick of the mind induced by her head injury maybe which in relief now didn't seem as bad as he expected it to be. She did seem to be interested in him more now a look of curiosity in her eyes now her body langauge suggested the same as well. He expected the questions to come about him if she had noticed before but they didn't come she just seemed wary still of the room she located in now.
"RelaxI promise nothing will happen to you here Anais your safe here," Damien replied trying to look and sound sincere to help her relax as he handed her some medicine and water now. Honestly if he was out to hurt her he wouldn't help her get better. He smiled sheepishly as she took her medicine with much haste now a interesting feat to him really. "Ah you saw that did you? I honestly didn't mean for that to happen guess I got a little carried away intimidating him like I did," Damien replied with a small sigh escaping him now it was embarassing really. Still the were got the message and wouldn't mess with either of them again anytime soon.
If anything she seemed amused by the man's misfortune of his bowels releasing on himself because of him like they had. "I did what any decent guy should do in the situation. As for taking advantage of you I wouldn't dream of it I mean well sure you are beautiful don't get me wrong," Damien replied smiling sheepishly as he blushed a little himself now. Still she was human he wasn't exactly sure how he could have a relationship with her knowing that. "My hotel room. Now that your awake and hopefully feeling better you can leave if you wish I can get you a taxi or give you a ride myself."
