There was a reason he'd never tried to surpass Kaia and he was able to see it again. The intensity on her face was terrifying. Along with her unyielding resolve, Oliver had gotten used to thinking nothing could break the stoic figure of Kaia and he was reminded of just that. She made him stand and resumed the elevator's travels. His fear of Loki still wiggled uncomfortably in his belly like a snake but he felt a bit of it subside when faced with Kaia's own anger and determination. To say he stood behind her like a bullied child was putting it accurately. If there was anyone he trusted more than to get him out of whatever he'd been chained to, it was Kaia. But he was able to retain some semblance of himself when she turned back to him, wrapped her arms around him and kissed him like the world was ending. He didn't hesitate. He returned her kiss with a hungry one of his own. Besides the feelings of hatred and thoughts of killing her, he'd also had the heart wrenching longing to be in her arms again that only a progeny could feel. Her intensity drove him and he found himself wrapping his arms around her waist, pulling her hips against his, not even caring that the elevator was about to open. She felt possessive and he felt a twinge of euphoria rise up inside him. He could almost forget about her other lovers, about her other progeny and lounge in the falsehood that he was all she needed.
When the doors finally dinged open, Oliver was met with an "oh my!" from the old lady and her husband ready to come in and Oliver forced himself to pull away from Kaia and look over her shoulder at the elderly couple. He shot them a grin as he kept one arm around her waist. "Sorry, newlyweds." he teased the couple. "We just couldn't wait." The old lady was smiling at him and making no move to hide her obvious interest in him and the situation. However, the husband was glaring at the both of them, his dog tags from WWII hanging out of his button up shirt. He tugged on his wife's arm and motioned to one of the other elevators down the hallway and Oliver turned back to Kaia. "I'm not against making a scene but I suppose this might get a little too much. I suggest we move this somewhere else." when he grinned at her, his teeth became apparent.
