Oliver HannibalIn her long life it was easy for Kaia to become lost in the glamor of being an Original, and to forget that even she was once human too. A human with feelings, desires, and dreams. Even in death Kaia was still a woman and constantly sought out a reminder that she too could take pleasure in the few simplicities of being femaleyu. Like most young (or young spirited), single women she found pleasure in the company of others and used the distraction to escape from her stress. As if nothing new Kaia retreated to the bathroom of a casino hotel room for a quick shower before making her departure. The meeting had been brief, but satisfying, and left the Original feeling exceptionally content. However it would only be temporary and soon after would come to face the reality that was life. With centuries of this under her belt it was no mystery to her that by now it had become more repetitive than pleasurable. Lately though with a new face taking residence in her penthouse the stress that came with the sudden change fueled her need to seek outside help; if only to get away from the inevitable headache that was Nykolae. Regardless the Hybrid was starting to grow on her, even more so after their recent encounter, and because of that she exited the hotel room and feeling as if a small weight had been lifted off her shoulders made her way down the hallway with the intent of returning to him for reconciliation.
With the press of a button she opened the elevator doors and stepped inside. She was alone so waiting wasn’t an option, and with haste pressed the ground floor button several times until the door closed. The elevator music was light and whimsical, Kaia even found pleasure in dancing to it in her spot as it took her mind off the guilt beginning to grow inside her. She didn't know how she was going to approach him once she reached home. The thought of not returning home right away crossed her mind, eventually it was replaced with a surprising need to find closure. With their blood out of each other systems by now it would be easier to control her emotions. But her memories and hidden knowledge of his life was the driving force in the confusing mess that was Kaia and Nykolae's relationship, and soon the realization she would eventually have to share it with him began to weigh heavily on her mind. However when the elevator came to an unexpected stop and the doors opened she stopped and looked up to see who it was forcing her to make a pit stop before reaching the ground floor.

Different body, different world, same damn feelings. At first, he'd been amazed to return to the living, especially since, he'd died all those years ago when Kaia had snapped his neck. He didn't even care that it his new body didn't respond properly to him or not. What was even better, Loki had managed to secure a vampire body for him and didn't have to go through the same process he had all those years ago. But since Loki had moved them to Vegas, Oliver found himself unable to settle into his new life. Why? Kaia Rion. Her name was used loosely in the city and it just so happened, another of her progeny even ran the city. It was almost like he'd dive bombed back into her life even though the Sire bond between them had long since been severed. And he wasn't sure how he felt about it. Part of him hated her for not listening to him and acting out in rage, taking his heart from his body. That part of him wanted to show Kaia the same feeling, to make her feel the same pain but the part of him that had been wrapped in her arms for centuries and had shared the most intimate moments with, wanted to find her and announce his return. Only problem, he neither smelled or looked like his old self. She would probably turn the other way and not give him the time of day.
For the first week in Vegas, Oliver had told himself to ignore her and stay away from anything vampire related but as time went on, his curiosity got the better of him and he started researching her. Not only did she have a progeny living in the same city, she had several which immediately sparked flashes of anger and envy he had to quickly dispel. He wasn't allowed to feel these feelings anymore. She had killed him, after all. He moved from Kaia, finding that looking into her was a lot harder than he thought and instead, decided to look up his own son, the one he'd left behind for Kaia to find. He started with his mother's family, surprised to find that the inheritance for the Sovereign family was still unclaimed and that Nykolae's name didn't appear anywhere. He was impressed with his ability to remain anonymous until he searched for his name here in Vegas and Oliver had never felt such anger. Sure, he'd left Nykolae behind for Kaia but finding out she had actually taken him, even after she had argued with him and killed him over the matter, made the vampire rage. It was this turning point he decided to allow himself to become known, whether she would know who he was or not. He wanted to toy with her awhile, see if she was able to pick him out after all these years apart. He tracked her down to a casino on the strip and wasn't surprised to find she'd rented a room for the evening. He managed to compel the room number off the front desk and had just pressed the elevator button when the doors quickly opened and he found himself face to face with Kaia. At first, he was taken a back. If he were still able to breath, he probably would have stopped. She was still as beautiful as the day he'd first laid eyes on her, even now, with an air of power behind her, Oliver couldn't help but continue to be awed in her presence. But all this happened in a second in his mind. To Kaia, he met her eyes and the corners of his mouth tilted upwards, flashing her a knowing smile. "Evening, Kaia Rion."

Oliver HannibalThe look of surprised turned into confusion towards his peculiar familiarity with her. Kaia didn't recognize the man, and though she has lived many lives and met many people, she usually had no problem remembering faces. His however was unfamiliar yet she felt as if they had crossed paths before. Being an Original it was common for vampires to know her by name but none ever dared approach her without reason. She was unpredictable, hot-headed and was known to display her dominance over her ‘children’ at even the smallest of offenses. Despite this he didn't seem to be bothered by her presence, as most vampires were, as if he wasn’t frightened of her at all, and though her suspicions of his intentions ran high her curiosity of his identity was outmatched by her fear of the unknown.
"Evening." She said with a hint of uncertainty in her voice. She could tell he was a vampire by the lack of heartbeat and the smell of death that lingered in the air around him. Yet, something seemed off about him. Although she had lost her magic when becoming a vampire her instincts still guided her and as of right now the tight knot forming in the pit of her stomach told her to be careful around this stranger, least it be her demise. "Do I know you?" She asked inquisitively. She remained where she stood even after having reached her destination. When the doors began to close she reached out her hand and stopped the door in its tracks before pushing it back inside its slot as if it was nothing but cardboard.

Priceless! Even after these years apart, she couldn't pinpoint who he was. Of course, Kaia mostly knew faces, not personalities. It was a bad trait she had. She probably wouldn't get a hint of who he was unless he touched her but he knew his boundaries and he wasn't looking to have his heart removed again. Not that Loki probably wouldn't bring him back again and he could start this whole game all over again. But he doubted she'd be so open to their conversation the next time around. "No, you probably don't but I know you, Kaia and I wanted to drop by and say hello." As she pushed the elevator doors back inside their sleeves, he smirked and made his move into the elevator, hoping the position of his body would push her back inside. Once more, he evaded touching her. Once inside, he leaned his back against the back of the elevator, crossing his arms over his chest. With an internal chuckle of his wickedness, he allowed his British accent to leak through. "Last time I saw you, you had been touring Europe still. When I came to Vegas, I was surprised to find that, not only do you live here, but the damn city is run by a progeny of yours! Amazing how things change in just a couple centuries, huh?" Of course, he was talking sarcastically, too giddy with excitement over the fact she didn't know who he was.
He reached around her and pushed the fifth floor button, the same floor where she'd rented the room for the evening. "Mind stepping out of the door, luv? The elevator won't move unless you move away." With this new body, his accent and words didn't sound and move right. Clearly, his new body had been American and spoke that harsh language. But he surprised himself with being able to get it out without a slip up. He was still getting used to everything. He'd managed to bang out the movements flawlessly but some of his previous thoughts and ideas still tried to take over and some things like speech or habits, were still working themselves out. When he asked Loki about it, he assured him that the vampire was very dead when he'd entered his body. The bone and muscle memory would wear off over time. Just being alive gave Oliver enough peace of mind to deal with it till that time came.

Oliver Hannibal"No, you probably don't but I know you, Kaia and I wanted to drop by and say hello." He spoke of her name as if he had said it thousands of times before. He had an air of over confidence surrounding him that made her believe he thought he was in control of the situation. Oh how wrong he was. She stepped back as he entered, forced to side step out of his way and turned her body to face him with her back to the elevator door. She listened to him go on as if they were long time friends getting reacquainted with each other. The more he spoke the more irritated she became. It was as if he knew exactly which buttons to press. Though she wasn’t hard to piss off she kept the composure of a Queen, and refused to give him the satisfaction of being successful in pissing her off.
Her eyes followed his arm with caution as it reached around her to press one of the round buttons beside the door. His accent, though different, sounded unnatural to him, like he had to force it out of himself. Whether this was a trick he was clearly horrible at or if he had an identity crisis she couldn’t quite get a grasp of the game he was playing and frankly, she wasn’t in the mood to participate. When he asked for her to move she refused by remaining where she stood, only to step forward after her fist hit the emergency stop button to lock the pair inside. Her eyes burned holes into his with a piercing glare. Again she tried to reach into the recesses of her mind to see if she could recall his face but nothing. It was as if this man had come out of thin air, yet, he apparently knew her from when she was still in Europe. It has been a while since she has stepped foot on her motherland so their encounter had to have been over a century ago. ”I’m going to give you one chance to come clean before I redecorate this hideous wallpaper with your blood.” She hissed. ”And if I were you, I’d choose my words carefully.” The Original clearly meant business and wasn’t the type to show mercy twice.

He couldn't hold back the laugh that erupted from him at her threat. Sure, he was playing with fire and knew just how easily it was for her to do exactly as she said but he couldn't help but fuck with her. It helped ease his vengeful anger towards her... just a bit. His eyes, first playful, now hard and anger pierced into hers and his smile turned a lot less amused. The only good thing he'd gotten out of this new body of his was the fact that who ever this had been, had been older than him and moved a lot faster and was a lot stronger than he had been. With lightening fast reflexes, he reached out and grabbed her throat, wrapping his fingers around her neck. He felt the fresh blood he'd taken in that morning, rushing through his veins, giving him adrenaline and fostering his excitement. He wanted so much to cause her the same pain she'd caused him. It was his first thought when he opened his eyes in this new body. Though he knew he'd never be able to rip her heart from her chest, he wanted to rip out her metaphorical heart, like she did is. He'd thought she'd loved him-they'd spend centuries together- and yet, she'd killed him with one simple movement.
He backed her against the doors of the elevator, his eyes glittering. He placed his hand over her heart, hoping that this simple movement would jog her memory. "What are you going to do, Kaia?" he whispered. "Rip out my heart?"

Oliver HannibalKaia's arms wrapped around the lifeless body of Oliver as it slowly began to decay into the grey skin tone and empty look that befell vampires who met a similar fate. Her body rocked back and forth as if she was rocking him to sleep but he didn't move. His chest was covered in blood and a hand sized hole in his chest gave away the cause of death. The heart still lay next to the woman as she wept over her loss, her blood colored tears staining his face. He looked quite peaceful despite the circumstances though Kaia was too consumed by despair to see it that way. As a Vampire she felt things on a much more sensitive level. Her grief wasn't just that; it was also pain, anger, regret, and because of their severed connection madness. The heartbroken woman let out a cry that would have put a banshee to shame and with her arms wrapped tightly around the motionless body she held onto him for dear life, unwilling to part with him just yet.
She wasn’t prepared for what he was to do next, even as an Original. For now she allowed him to overcome her if only to get a better sense of what his goal was. His face, his voice, even his scent was different but when he looked her in the eyes and mentioned ripping out his heart followed by the simple hand gesture only one thing could come to mind. ”Oliver?” She muttered in bewilderment. He wasn't the first or only to be on the fatal end of her wrath but his touch and choice of words gave her the sickening feeling she felt just after ripping out his heart centuries ago. Suddenly, all her anger and irritation washed away as a tidal wave of nostalgia hit. For the first time in a long time she felt fear...and happiness? She felt paralyzed until her hand reached up and tenderly touched his cheek to verify if this was even real. ”How?” She spoke softly once again, the look of confusion and awe twinkling in her blue eyes at the sight of her former lover. Before becoming a vampire Kaia was a Magi so possession was not something unheard of to her but the specifics were still a mystery and along with the how’s and when, she wanted to know why.

--- He let his hand fall from her chest and released his grip around her neck, taking a step back from her before grinning at her and producing a rather exuberant bow that seemed wildly out of place in the luxury elevator, his eyes never leaving hers. "I'm surprised you were able to put the pieces together. I might as well be a stranger to you now." he straightened back up, flexing his fingers in front of him with a thoughtful smirk. "Never thought I'd be able to move again, let alone live again. It's a real miracle isn't it?" A part of him ached at the look on her face. He wanted to grab onto her and rekindle their love but the part of him that had died by her hand, the part of him that felt hurt and betrayed, was angry. Why wasn't she lashing out, threatening to kill again? He wanted her to fight back so he could punish her with the same pain she'd inflicted on him! But the look of awe on her face had him at a crossroads and he wasn't sure how he wanted to act. He'd spent all this time in his new body and his new life, soaking in his anger and hatred and plotting his revenge but when he was finally in front of her, he was honestly lost. If Loki found out he'd returned to Kaia without the intentions of killing her, he'd probably rip out this heart and he'd return to the darkness of oblivion. He leaned an arm on either side of her head, his face hovering inches from hers as he spoke in a low husky voice. "You can't ever kill me, baby." he whispered, avoiding the question altogether.

Oliver HannibalThe mocking of his return was not only unnecessary, but unnerving. On one hand she was upset by his sudden return at this moment of time in her life followed by his attempt to make her feel guilty about it. It was as if he was brought back simply to punish her for her sins against him. Who would do this and why? It was easy to assume someone was out to get Kaia but not many people were aware of her relationship to Oliver or her involvement in his death. She didn't need his arrogance to remind her of the mistakes she's made, the hybrid waiting for her back home was enough of a reminder to her. Yet while he was caught up in his own version of revenge he failed to realize his own mistakes. But while she wanted nothing more than to remind him of his place and the reason behind his death, she also desperately wanted to reach her arms out and hold him close to her. Instead she stood there silently. Any urge to kill him had long gone by now so the only thing left to do was accept what was to come. Despite whatever thoughts he had she wouldn't allow him to get the upper hand, but wanted to see just how far he would go to enact his revenge. She knew he was angry with her, murderous even, yet he chose to simply mock her for her wrong doings. With the initial shock of his appearance passed Kaia's features hardened and became serious, her eyes penetrating his like knives in a target. "What do you want?"

His demeanor instantly changed as he pulled away from her to lean his back against the opposite wall of the elevator, this time, the mischief had left his eyes to be replaced by anger; anger at her attitude towards him and anger at himself for not being able to act on his dreams of revenge. He crossed his arms over his chest, glaring at her. "I want to fucking make you hurt for what you did to me!" he snapped, no longer able to hold onto his carefully kept mask. Here, he took a long pause before he also said, a little quieter, "And I want to fuck you so that you can feel the pain in my heart." he growled. "Well," he said with a sarcastic laugh. "This body's heart. It's not really mine." He reached up his hands and drove them angrily into his hair as he groaned angrily. What was wrong with him?! He'd planned his first meeting with Kaia so meticulously that he'd been able to play it out in his dreams and here he was, at that very moment and he could think of nothing but pulling her into his arms and kissing her. "Do you see what you've done to me!?" he angrily shot at her, eyes flashing back to hers as he pulled his hands out of his hair, leaving it disheveled. "I want to kill you but I still love you!" He probably looked like a damn lunatic in front of her.

Oliver HannibalIt was no surprise to her that he wanted to make her suffer as she had done to him. Despite it all Kaia actually understood very well, though really it didn't change her mind on the matter. She still didn't regret killing him, or at least the reason behind it, though at this point she had wished she had made sure his body was taken care of to avoid this encounter. How long he had been on this Earth seeking revenge was a mystery to her yet the more he spoke the less she began to care. He was here and that was the important....or annoying thing depending on how you want to look at it. Regardless of what body he possessed he still held the knack of pissing her off just by opening his mouth. It was like a blood stain on her white sheets she just couldn't get rid of and it easily reminded her of why she didn't hesitate to kill him in the first place. Time has changed since then and so has Kaia, though it had appeared that even in a different form he was the same Oliver she had once known.
She slowly approached him with an expressionless look on her face. The pain and conflict within himself was clear on his face. She wasn't oblivious. Still she chose to ignore this or any attempts he may make if she got too close, choosing to invade his personal space and risk an unwanted reaction to prove a point. "If you want me dead so bad then do it. Kill me. Or punish me as you so desire. Either way I won't stop you." She spoke softly and with complete sincerity. Taking his hand into her's she placed it over her heart and pressed his skin against hers. "Go ahead. Make me suffer as you did. It's what you've been waiting all this time for isn't it? Just do it already. It's what I clearly deserve." She knew he wouldn't kill her, couldn't even, and intentionally tugged at his heart strings to manipulate him as shes so easily done before. She leaned in even further until their lips were just barely touching. "Kill me Oliver. Rip my heart out and feel the pain I endured after taking yours so easily." She tempted him.

The room seemed to empty of air and if he wasn't already dead, his heart and breathing would have stopped. She had opened herself to a vulnerability. Here she was, right in front of him, her chest exposed. All he needed to do was reach into her chest and rip her heart out, just as easily as she had done to him. He'd dreamed of this moment for a long time, drove himself crazy wanting to complete the task. And now that it was laid out in front of him, he couldn't follow through. Part of the reason, his mind hadn't planned for, was actually being in Kaia's presence. Though the part of him that connected him to her was long gone, there was a ghost of a connection that he felt with her and it was that connection in which he felt helpless in her presence, reverting him back to being one of her progeny. He felt the coolness before he realized what was happening. He reached up and touched his face, pulling his fingers away to see blood. Was he... crying? He felt his knees give out and he slid to the floor, his back to the wall. He couldn't do it. He never would. No matter how much pain she had put him through and how much heart break he'd endured, deep down, he still loved her from that first moment he'd laid eyes on her chained to that post. Even then, his human soul had called out to her. No matter how many times she killed him or made him hurt, he'd never be able to return the favor.
"I can't..." he whispered. "Even with a new body and the progeny connection between us severed, you still hold power over me. Just... put me out of misery..." he whispered, his blood tears dripping onto the plush carpet beneath him. "If he finds out..." he stopped, ever fearing thinking about what Loki would do to him.

Oliver HannibalWithout hesitation she followed him to the ground, the look of anger replaced with concern. She placed the tips of her fingers under his chin and lifted his head to look at her. A tightness formed within her chest at the sight of his blood tears and with her other hand used the tip of her thumb to clear the streaks away. "Who finds out? Tell me who brought you back?" She asked calmly, both curious and concerned for him. It may not have been present before but Kaia still held a lot of love for the man and despite it all deeply wanted to have him back in her life again. His words however reminded her of the reality of his return back to this world and although it had appeared a once in a life time opportunity had presented itself in the form of him she knew all too well that not everything was always as it seemed, and if she was to keep herself from getting hurt again she couldn't jump to conclusions and follow her heart as she so desperately wanted.
The fact that Oliver mentioned a third party reassured her of his place in this world. Whoever had brought him back had done a good job at getting under her skin, whether it was intentional or not. It was difficult for her to imagine Oliver coming back to life and seeking her out simply for his own personal vendetta. To use Kaia's true weakness against her was an all time low for her and once he revealed a name she was determined to make whoever turned her love into their pawn pay with their life. "Please, Ollie." If that didn't do it she didn't know what would.

She knelt down before him and placed her fingers under his chin to force him to look at her and it was that gentle touch, that brought everything crashing down. It was that tenderness he remembered and had for so long, even without his realization, longer for again. He reached up his sleeve and wiped the blood from his face, feeling more and more like a child then an ancient vampire. "It's not new, actually..." he whispered, starting from the beginning. "Long before you killed me, I'd begun to hear a voice in my head. It wasn't defined, not particularly. It influenced what I did and said and even changed the way I felt about you. Sometimes, it wasn't always there and I was free to be myself but then when it was there, I did things I didn't normally do. I had never meant to create my son... I'd gone into a village to get a meal and I found a young couple in the vineyard. I thought they would be easy targets. I attacked the man first but before I could use him as a meal and let him go, the voice appeared, telling me I needed to kill him. I did so without thinking. It then made me turn to the female and I made her drink my blood before I-" he stopped and swallowed, moving on. "I knew what I did was wrong but there was something inside me that knew it was the right thing and I tried to convince you, tried to get you to help me. Maybe by showing the boy kindness, you could show me that what I did hadn't been wrong... That I could fight whatever was going on with me. But too late..." he lifted a hand to his chest where he felt the phantom pain of the hole in his chest. "I never thought I'd wake again. Thought this was prime punishment for what I'd done. But then, I was opening my eyes and he stood there, smiling at me and it was his voice... The voice in my head. He told me I owed him my soul, that I would work for him or he'd send me back to the darkness. He never actually told me what I had to do but I know he didn't bring me along to Vegas for sight seeing." He closed his eyes, hating the chill that came over him thinking of him. "I never would have imagine that demons would exist in this world. I thought we were demons, Kaia, monster born of darkness and death. But he and his kind make us look like fairy tales for children..." How much more could he say? He'd already told her the whole story, the shortened version anyway. He really didn't understand Loki's true intentions of bringing him back from the dead but had just been grateful enough to accept him. But the fear he felt for the man was real and he had a strong desire to not make him mad. That was why he wanted Kaia to kill him before he did. "Please don't let Loki kill me!" he pleaded, reaching out and grabbing her arms.

Kaia could remember the day she noticed a change in him all too well. His transformation had seem to happen overnight. It was common for a vampire to shut their humanity off and though Kaia was no stranger to this herself, she didn't exactly know why he would do this. He never admitted to it, even blatantly told her he was still the same Oliver she had come to love. But his actions told otherwise. Slowly he became something even the Mother of Monsters couldn't accept until finally something inside of her snapped. Even now she regretted it but there was nothing she could do. No sense in dwelling on the past. So she moved on.
She could recall a time where he mentioned voices plaguing and corrupting his mind. At the time Kaia didn't believe him, considering his track record at the time it wasn't hard for Kaia to pass this off as a way to seek attention from her. She had just recently turned another lover into a vampire and had been doting on him for a brief period. Perhaps he was telling the truth but the same question kept circling back to her; why?
That question wouldn't be answered until the fear in his eyes met her own and his words pleaded for protection against a man named Loki. For a brief moment she felt herself chuckle at the image of the Nordic God of Mischief with his staff and cunning smirk, toying with Oliver like he was one of his toy soldiers. His grip on her arms brought her back to reality and suddenly the feeling of fear overcame her as well, but it didn't last. Rage consumed her and like an angered mother tending to her tortured child wrapped arms around him, pulling him into a tight embrace but kept her features hard as if she was plotting the death of whoever hurt her baby.
"Shh. Calm down. No one is going to kill you. Again." She spoke in a soft tone that sounded as if she was talking to a child and contradicted her facial expressions. In all seriousness Kaia had never come across of a real threat by the name of Loki, let alone someone who would know of Oliver's connection to her that was still alive today. If Oliver's second chance at life really was just an attempt to throw the Original off, well, it kind of worked. Along with being overjoyed that he was now back in her arms there was also the scary reality of what was to come now that he had made his appearance. Now more than ever she had to be on her guard and thanks to this Loki person she not only had her lover back, but found a reason to fight once more.
She released her grip and stood up. "Get up. The time for being pathetic is over." She said, her tone now mirroring her outward appearance and once again she was back in her hardened shell. She brought her hand up and slammed her fist against the emergency button, unlocking them from their imprisonment. Instead of pressing the ground floor however she hit the number of the floor she had just came from. Finally as the elevator began to move again the corners of her lips curled into a smile fit for the Devil himself with the fires of Hell burning fiercely in her eyes. "We'll get to the details of this Loki person later. We have centuries of catching up to do." And without warning she was across the elevator and back in front of him and with the same ferocity she had shown when she had ripped his heart out, planted her lips firmly onto his and wrapped her arms around him as a means to ensure he had no escape.
