After a night's rest in the little abandoned bomb shelter, shack thing, out in the middle of the desert, Anya made her way back into the city. She had to find her brother. The night's sleep did nothing for her emotions. She couldn't get completely comfortable and when she finally passed out it was to horrid nightmares. She woke up just as terrified as she had been the night before. She couldn't get Loki out of her head. He had been furious and as much as he had threatened her and others, there had still been some sick twisted humor to the threats prior to the day before. He had meant it this time. It wasn't just meant to simply scare her. It was a promise.
A part of her said to keep running, to get out of town and never look back. It was what she would have done prior to reuniting with her brother. It was what she actually did quite a few times when she was out on her own. She wasn't alone anymore, though. She had her brother back, and at the moment, all she wanted was Andrei. So she went to his house and tried there first. When she got no answer, she could feel the panic growing so to avoid succumbing to the urge to curl up into a ball, she headed for Liv's club. If he wasn't home, the chance he was working was high. It also meant he was likely haunting the club. She just hoped she was right.
So she walked into Red Velvet Kiss and headed straight for Olivia Thorne's office. She dodged anyone that got in her way. She wasn't looking for trouble. The last thing she needed was a pissed off vampire after her head too. She couldn't even handle the demon on her tail. Once at the door, she paused and took a deep breath before she opened it and walked in without so much as knocking or seeing if Olivia was even in the room. She could smell her the vampire after all and the scent was fresh so Anya had to assume she was inside. If she was wrong the woman had to have just left, and Anya was too desperate to accept that. She was actually physically and emotionally a mess. Her clothes were filthy with sand and dust from her night in the desert. Her hair wasn't brushed and she was barefoot from leaving her shoes behind after one of her heels broke as she fled Loki. On top of all that, it wouldn't be difficult to see she had been crying or that she was still terrified and it took a lot to get Anya this worked up.
"Where's Andrei?" she asked.

It was another day at the club and as always Liv locked herself in her office and away from the drunkards that occupied the downstairs floor. She could care less about whatever happened down there as long as they paid and didn't cause unwanted attention. She had too much on her mind to worry about small things and that was another reason for her solitude. Her daughters graduation was coming up and though she was excited for her, also knew that once the excitement was over she would return home with her and that posed a problem for her.
Olivia was used to surprise visits ever since Andrei moved his business into her club but this one was the most unexpected of all. The moment her door flew open and Anya walked inside Liv stood up. Liv had never personally met Andrei's sister but has heard many things about her, so when she came bursting in asking for Andrei it was safe to assume the girl requesting for him was his sister. "Not here." She said with a hint of confusion in her voice. "Anya, right?" She had hoped it was Anya at least. How many blondes that smelled like a cat and looked like Andrei were there in the world? "Is there...something I can help you with?" She noticed to state of her clothes and guessed she had just been in a fight or slept in a ditch. Either way it was clear she was in rough shape and whatever that happened to make her go to a complete stranger, her brothers ex of all people, it had to of been serious.

Anya practically deflated as Olivia told her that Andrei wasn't there. The last time he wasn't around when she needed him, it ended in her family's death. That was different though. She had been entirely alone. Granted, she didn't know if Olivia would help at all. The time away from Loki was a godsend either way. She nodded at her in confirmation to her name.
“I am,” she said. “Sorry for barging in like this.”
She paused at the vampire's next question. She wasn't quite sure how to answer. Her brother was easy. All she had to say was something like “there's a big bad demon after me, kill him.” He would do it without question or comment. He might lecture her about not being careful but there would likely be no judgement. She wasn't sure about Liv. She had no obligatory protectiveness for Anya so laughing her out the door wasn't that farfetched, especially with her history with Anya's brother.
“Depends,” she finally said. “Know how to get rid of a pissed off demon?”

Her eyes widened in surprised, the look of disbelief clear on her face. Demons? Was she serious? As far as Olivia knew they were just fairy tales, in a biblical sense, but then again, as a vampire it wasn't difficult to believe in the impossible. Still, it was a far outlandish claim to make, especially to someone she was meeting for the first time. "Now, are you talking about an demon with horns and hooves for feet or is that code for someone who is seriously dangerous?" Clearly she wasn't taking her seriously; how could she? Not only was this the first time they had ever met it was also the first time hearing anything about demons since she was a child in New Orleans. And the fact the woman was apparently claiming to have pissed off a demon, whatever that meant, didn't give Olivia the best first impression of her.
Regardless of Olivia's desire to call Andrei to deal with this himself she wasn't sure if he would actually answer, and although Olivia's favorite pastime was pissing off Andrei, she knew he was particular about family. Family was the one thing Olivia did not mess around with. The fear on her face made Olivia believe that she truly believed in what she was saying, and by that fact alone along with her relation to Andrei begrudgingly decided to help. "You look like you just crawled out of a hole. Let me get you a fresh pair of clothes and some water." Olivia wasn't always keen on giving out her clothes but at the same time she couldn't stand the sight of her looking the way she did any longer. She almost felt sorry for the poor girl.
When she returned she handed Anya a simple black top and a pair of jeans-which were actually a spare she kept around for Kitty as pants were not really her thing. "Keep them. I don't need them. Thirsty?"

That was what Anya was afraid of, not being believed or taking seriously. For a moment, she wasn't sure how to respond to the woman at all. Clearly, she thought Anya was a nutcase. The cat realized how crazy the idea of angels and demons were. She had been one of those non-believers at first, too. Then, she had the misfortune to get involved with one.
“Actually, he has wings,” she said. “Not sure about the horns or hooves but who am I to say he can't sprout those either? I turn into a cat once a month. It's not entirely all that farfetched. His name is Loki and he claims to be a demon. Now while I have never seen one before, I think I'll take my chances and believe the guy that I have seen use shadows to make his victims bleed for the thrill alone. I have been around enough magi and vampires to know that he is neither.”
Okay, perhaps voicing all of that wouldn't help her case but she couldn't help it. It wasn't a lie and she was being completely serious. There was no hint of humor in her tone as she stared steadily at her brother's ex. She did turn visibly embarrassed at the reminder of how terrible she looked. While she wasn't particularly vain, Anya did usually make a point to look decent at the very least out in public, especially for first impressions. That alone was enough to get her to take the offered clothes without a fuss. In any normal situation, her pride would never allow it. She changed into the outfit in the bathroom and tried to comb her hair a little with her fingers and make herself look halfway presentable at the very least before returning to Olivia's office.
“Some water would be great,” she said. “Thank you.”
