David was sitting in a rather small diner waiting for his guest to arrive. HIs daughter's Fiancé or so he'd been told by his wife. Normally he wouldn't have broached the subject of speaking to Dash, but his wife had brought up the Aurora was thinking of children and that moved him into action. He was going to have a talk with Dash immediately. His daughter was precious to him and if she was going to be having grand kids soon then there would be a lot to talk about. He had been completely caught off guard when his daughter had strolled into his office with Dash on her arm. he thought he had gotten rid of this problem a century ago, but Dash seemed to be like a cat once you fed it once it keeps coming back and now he was a cursed genie no less. Still though this could be a blessing having a Genie on his side would make him a bit more valuable in the council and who knows after all these years Dash could have matured, but if he hadn't he had a plan. There was a suitcase sitting next to it in it was an old aboriginal urn. If Dash proved to be too much of a handful he'd seal him in it. he had gotten the Urn from one of his friends back when he was working the silver mine it was his going away present when he was accepted to work on the railroads. it brought back fond memories he really wished he didn't have to use I in such a way but the urn was powerful it absorbed decades of aboriginal power. He sighed. Maybe I'm just blowing this all out of proportion. He thought to himself as he heard the bell above the door ring and could sense it was Dash he raised his hand waving him over. "We need to talk."

He'd thought the world was ending when he got up for breakfast this morning. He'd slept in a little after a good night with Aurora he'd never felt so worn out as he did last night she was something else. He'd come to Aurora cooking some eggs and toast and before he could really enjoy it she dropped her bomnshell on him suddenly. Apparently her father wanted to spend a little quality man to man time together today apparently her mother had spoken to him of her wishes for grandchildren someday and so here he was having to face the older male as he was invited to meet with him at a diner for lunch and doubted it would be as short of a talk as he hoped it would be. He was a little anxious really her father could be rather intimidating at times really and he hadn't exactly liked him as much in the past when he was first dating his daughter and still didn't seem exactly thrilled even now they were to be engaged and married soon. So after a quick breakfast and show he was dressed in his best as he headed out to meet the man now and face whatever he had planned for him now but he would stand his ground and defend his love for Aurora he'd make it clear they would be married and have a family someday whether he was aprt of it or not. Thank god for teleportation he thought there was no way he could be late and have her father grill him over that he wanted the man to have as little as possible to complain about him during this meeting as he appeared in secret behind the diner before heading around to the front he could sense the man's magic inside already and knew he knew he was here now there would be no surprising a Magi as powerful as Aurora's father. "Nice to see you again Mr. Xanatos and of course that is why I am here to see you," Dash replied and taking a seat across from him a waiter appeared now. "I'll have a water and the special for lunch," He said quickly not bothering to look at a menu now. Then once David entered the waiter was gone. "So ask what you will Mr. Xanatos I have no secrets to keep from my future father-in-law I will be nothing but honest for Aurora's sake," Dash asked and said looking to the older male directly now.

David eyed the young man as he sat down. "No need for such formalities Dash after all you are trying to knock up my daughter after all." He said steepling his fingers against one another as he looked at Dash order. "I'll have one of your Pastrami sandwiches with extra fries and a large root beer." He said handing the menu to the man. "Dash when I first came to this country I was a self made man I worked in the silver mines in Australia I watched men get buried under tons of rock and stone, others I saw slowly die from poisonous gas that had them throwing up their innards like grotesque water fountains." He said looking across the table at the young man. "I am a man of means, and my daughter is my treasure, so tell me Dash if you were in my situation if you had the skill, knowledge, wisdom and experience that I do. Would you honestly trust someone like yourself with my your daughter?" He asked sipping his coffee slowly. He had nothing against Dash personally he just didn't think he was good enough for his daughter. Aurora had been given the best all her life, and now with the most important decision in her life she chooses a street magician.

Thank god he didn't have a drink in his hand or any of it in his mouth or he would've done a spittake and probably get it all in Aurora's father's face. He did cough a bit as he beat at his chest a little now and swallowed a little before smiling sheepishly as he ran a hand through his hair. "I'd like children someday sure but Aurora isn't really in the mindset for any right now and I respect her wishes. Besides we have more important things like a wedding to plan for I want Aurora's day to be special and everything she wants it to be she deserves it," Dash replied nodding in agreement with his own words now. Sure they had sex now but Aurora was careful enough to avoid an unwnated pregnancy she took her pills and such every time she was supposed to. He looked to David as he spoke of his upbringing a self-made man who worked in some tough and hard places to get where he was now. He supposed his upbrining was a little more fortunate than his was since his family had a nice little furniture making business already though he only briefly worked in it until world war two when it was lost along with his parents in a bombing. "Probably not but then again love doesn't thrive on things like wealth David. I might not approve wholly of my own daughter dating a man not so blessed as myself but if he truly makes her happy and feel loved then that would be enough for me until he lays a hand on her wrongfully." Dash replied and soon their drinks were brought to them. He'd take a few sips wetting his lips before speaking again. "Now that I have Aurora back and we plan to wed things will change. I'll get a better job doing something to better support Aurora and always be close to her. I'll take care of her and protect her from those who would harm her. I don't expect you to call me son but we should be able to get along better for Aurora's sake," Dash said sipping at his water more now. If he truly valued Aurora as much as he claimed then he wouldn't stand in the way of her happiness and would support them both in this and want a better relationship with him to make her happier with him since things between her and David were more estranged lately.

David could tell that Dash loved his daughter deeply but he knew first hand that love didn't conquer all. Love was not something one walked into blindly. "that was a heartfelt speech Dash it touched me dearly, but I'm not here for a test of your orator skills." he said flatly. He arched a brow at being called David instead of Mr. Xanatos, but considering where he was he'd allow it to slide just this time. "you make a valid point I must say, but a lot of things make Aurora happy that I detest." "Aurora is my daughter I love her dearly, but for all my love and understanding she does have her faults. She's greedy, selfish, spoiled to the core and most of all she's impatient. These are things she's always been and things she always will be. Are you ready to shoulder the responsibility of that. Are you ready to accept that everything you do or say isn't good enough?" He asked as their food was set down. he split the hoagie roll squirting some mustard onto it. Being a street magician was not something that David would call a good job, but he couldn't deny the money the man brought to the table. yet again he made a rather astute judgment that David had to agree with. "You don't ask for much and what you do ask for you back up with sense." David said taking a bite of his sandwich. "Very well when's the wedding?" he asked before shaking his head. "i'm not agreeing to anything yet, but I want to know when's the wedding?"

Dash loved Aurora without a doubt always had and always would. Once they began dating he never looked at another girl again like he did her. He really couldn't understand how some guys would cheat on a good woman they had like that and usually for superficial reasons like not putting out enough for him. Sex had always been the farthest thing from his mind with Aurora not to say he didn't want to get intimate with her it was just her body really and her choice when she wanted to give herself to him so intimately like that. In the end he could respect her decisions and choices and always supported her fully in them. "Maybe so but I just want you to understand how I feel about your daughter for richer or poor I'd love her all the same," Dash simply replied sipping more at his water now. He promised Aurora he would do this and he would be damned if he made things worse between the two or worse with Aurora and her father. "That's what true love is isn't it? Your wife isn't perfect I'm sure she has her fault as well but you accept them and deal with them. I care deeply for Aurora she's not perfect she has her fault but I can accept them and will continue to love and support her just the same. I am a patient man I will support always and make sure I do my best to help her make the right choices and decisions in her life as they come." Dash replied running a hand through his hair now. He didn't expect this to all be rainbows and sunshine really. There would be bad days when things so tough and against them but he wouldn't run away this time. One had to take the good days and bad days hand in hand to make their relationship continue to thrive and be strong between each other. He'd look up as he bacon cheeseburger and fries were handed to him by the waiter now and nodded in thanks as he then left the two alone again. He'd nod at that and then looked to Aurora's father as he inquired about the wedding date now. "Aurora seems to want it in the fall when the leaves begin to change since it'll be so colorful and vibrant like she is so I'd say September or October most likely," Dash replied before taking a bite out of his burger and fries now. He'd agreed to that and decided on wearing an orange and black tux then to fit the fall theme of the wedding. The only thing he was worried about the most getting right was his vows to her they had to be perfect and heartfelt it had to really touch her heart and make her want to cry tears of happiness and love for him.

Dash was steadily proving him wrong on several points, but David was far from a quitter he always had a plan. "Well at least I know you're not in it for the money, since you have your own, and I know you're not in it for the power you're an immortal wish creature." David bit into his sandwich it wasn't bad, but could use a bit more toast on the bread, but for a diner it wasn't bad. He looked at dash as he said that he would be there for his daughter through thick and thin. He rubbed his mouth from the sandwich. "Are you a betting man Dash?" he asked, but already knew that the man had lived in sin city for years now. Once Dash told him when the wedding was he smiled. "Alright Dash let's make a bet. I'll give you til the wedding. If during this time you hold true to your word then I will never judge you again as being unfit for my daughter in fact if you prove me wrong I'll even call you son and I'll put you in the will as well." He said taking a sip of his drink. "But if you fail if you harm my daughter or break her heart in anyway I will seal you in the urn and bury you in the middle of the outback for all eternity, fair enough?" He asked holding his hand out to him to seal their deal.

Dash didn't really expect to win David over so easily no the man was as stubborn and protective as any father would be he wouldn't relent until he was satisfied he'd crushed Dash's spirit or was convinced he was really worth trusting his daughter to now the latter he hoped happened more really. He'd look to David as he spoke of money not and that Dash wasn't greedy or after his money now and simply nodded at that as he grabbed a napkin to clean his mouth with now. "Look I understand your skepticism man like me coming from a background of having almost nothing you fear people trying to take everything from you and I wont bullshit you. You need money to surive in this harsh world I know that but long as I have Aurora I can be truly happy." Dash replied and it seemed maybe just maybe he was finally getting through to Aurora's father. Such news would probably make Aurora cry but at least it would be tears of happiness that her father might actually allow them to marry with his approval as well and be a whole family again. "Well when your best friends with a werewolf you kind of have to be," Dash replied but simply nodded nonetheless to the man's question that he was a betting man sometimes really it was in his nature as a Djinn and dark one at that. "You really don't have to include me in that I think Aurora would be more deserving but I agree nonetheless to your bet. If I even think about hurting her even a little I will come to you myself and allow you to punish me however you see fit I'll even be your slave," Dash replied and with a nod in agreement to David's words and his own words he shook David's hand with a smile now. "So what else did you have planned for us. Aurora expects me to spend the day bonding with you somehow and I'd hate to disappoint my lttle Siren princess," Dash replied releasing his hand as he leaned back in his side of the booth again now.

He was optimistic he'd give him that much. He seemed truly happy and wanted to make a good impression, and David knew that a good impression could make or break a relationship. David rose an eyebrow in curiosity. "Your best friends with a werewolf? My what an interesting life you lead." David said leaning back as he looked outside. "I remember when this city was still just a sprawling mess of multicultural people trying to make it in the big city." He said laughing as Dash then agreed to his terms. "Very well then Mr. Storm the terms are set and the time starts as soon as the sun rises tomorrow morning." He said as he stood and then he heard what Aurora wanted from them. He looked at Dash. "That's a tall order she's asking of me." He said sighing a little as he looked at his watch. He could probably get some stuff done at the office, but his instincts as a father told him that if he didn't do this for his baby girl she'd never believe that they had come to terms. "Alright fine." He said adopting the tone of a petulant child being told to do his homework instead of going out to play. He pulled out his phone. "Bertram forward all my calls to the office. Unless it's some high scale business transaction or one of the council calls tell them I'm busy." He said. "Right away sir I trust that if it's your wife or daughter I can patch them through as well?" David rolled his eyes. "Of course not Bertram it's not like my marriage or the relationship I have with my only child is of any importance to me they can get the voicemail too." He said sarcastically with a grin. "Very good sir." David hung up and looked at Dash. "Come on then let's go..."bond"." David said heading for the door.

Dash had always been hopelessly optimistic for as long as he could remember. His mother had been the same way while his father was more of a realist and occasionally a pessimist when it came to Dash. For awhile he felt like he had lost that part of himself during the way but afterwards when he was cursed he was given a new leash on life and a purpose which now was to always be by Aurora's side and made her happy and loved like she deserved to be. "Yeah it can be sometimes," Dash simply replied running a hand through his hair now. He doubted David would like Roronora much around his daughter but he need not worry Roronora would never hurt anyone while he was around really. "Yeah things have changed a lot around here since I came here to live with my aunt. I hated so much coming here at first until I met Aurora then I never wanted to leave," Dash replied smiling sheepishly a little now. He remembered promising her he'd find a way to be with him forever but how he didn't know and was forced to give up back then until becoming a Dark Djinn. By then though he figured she had probably moved on by now and forgotten all about him assuming he was dead by now. Of course looking at David he didn't look entirely thrilled at the idea of spending a good almost whole day with him but seemed to decide against refusing him for Aurora's sake. He could only assume this Bertram was his assisant or perhaps butler though who nowadays really still had one far as he knew. He did seem to have a sense of humor though rather a small one really and simply nodded as he moved to get up now. "Of course. I was thinking now maybe I might open my own place here in the city called the Prestige where all kinds of magician acts from around the world can come to have shows including myself. That way I can always be close to Aurora and have more time to spend with her," Dash replied and went on to talk about his new idea for what kind of work he could do around here since he really enjoyed his current profession right now.

It was safe to say he didn't want his daughter around a werewolf not that he had anything against the creature or the man himself, but werewolves were not something to trifle with and being the way that Aurora was he knew it wouldn't be long before Aurora said something cross to the man. David rolled his eyes a school yard crush if only he'd had the chance to be so naïve. He'd been homeschooled living a farmer's life until he left to work in the mines repairing their helmets and lamps. "Well I'm glad you felt so strongly about my daughter." He said coughing politely before heading out of the door. He wasn't sure how he was going to make this work after all Dash wasn't the path he wanted for his daughter, but then again this isn't the path his father wanted for him either. If he'd listened to his father he'd probably still be on the farm married to a simple woman with several kids running around letting his talent for technology be wasted on improving farming tools. He looked at Dash as he brought up this his plan, and David nodded. "You'll have some serious competition with Broadway." He said looking at Dash as he climbed into his car.

Dash would simply smile and nod at that a little. He did want Romulus to meet Aurora at some point but he was sure they would butt heads a little they were a lot alike sometimes. Still he doubted they'd get physically violent enough that Romulus would shift into a werewolf and he didn't really want Aurora to get pissed off enough that she rendered him deaf using her voice on him. Regardless Romulus was like the only family he had left and he wanted Aurora to get along with him too. He'd been fortunate to go to public school some but a lot of his free time was spent being forced to learn the family trade whether he wanted to be apart of it or not his father insisted that he took over it someday for him. "But of course we wouldn't be getting married if I didn't love her," Dash simply replied and he could've told Aurora no and she would've understood really saying she'd never hate him for it if he did. He just couldn't picture life without her now he wanted everything with her now a nice home and eventually when she was ready children he'd do everything to make and keep her happy money would be no object when it came to her happiness. Some people were just stubborn and stuck in their ways like his father but one could only truly be happy when they pursued their own dreams and goals something Aurora had taught him once and he'd taken that to heart after given his new leash on life after being cursed like he was now there wasn't anything he couldn't do now if he put his mind to it. "Nothing easy is worth having without a challenge it'll be good for me." Dash simply replied as he also got in his car now in the passenger's side. He didn't expect things to be all rainbow and sunshine he'd have to use his own hands and skills to build this business and make it work and well he wanted to prove to David as well that he didn't always have to rely on his Magik to get by in life.

David supposed he had a point he could see he loved his daughter it was written all over his face. The boy would probably die if he never saw Aurora again, and there wasn't much left for him in Aurora's life besides he'd have a new baby girl to dote on soon enough. It was time to let go. David drove away from the Restaurant looking at his travel companion. "There's a lot of things that have to go into starting a business like they say location, location, location. Where were you going to set up what kind of venue are you looking for?" He asked When he'd first set up shop in New York he'd asked himself the same questions. "You've got to consider the kinds of crowds you'll be receiving though I suggest something small at first the less people you can fit the easier you can sell out, and the more you sell out the more people who will come to see the show." He said his business savvy mind already turning at full speed. The prospect of opening a new business always got his mind going. "you should also think about atmosphere nothing to gaudy though that's an instant turn off for most." He said as he started heading toward the real estate office. "Come on if you're going to do this then you're going to do it right." he said simply. If this was going to be Dash's legacy then he would help to keep it from falling flat.

Dash took great pride and happiness when speaking about Aurora and how much he truly cared for and loved her especially to her father. Aurora wanted more than anything for David to continue being a part of her life and wanted him to like Dash too. He knew David probably struggled the most with letting Aurora go because she was his daughter but his job as a father was done now it was time for him to love and take care of Aurora to make her happy and spoiled but that didn't mean he wouldn't still be her father and couldn't still be apart of her life like he had been before. Soon they were off it seemed and it seemed like a good idea David might approve of him working closer to home and Aurora opening his own business and company like that and looked to him as she spoke of how it would be far from easy to do it'd be one of the biggest challenges he had ever faced since taking part in world war two. "Yeah location is most important for sure and well I'm not sure it might be easier to buy out some old theator and renovate it," Dash replied running a hand through his hair now. He knew the type of crowd he wanted to attract the most was what was most important when making his business as he looked back to David now."Well I was thinking it would be smarter to start out kind of small and then expand as I go along. Perhaps we can be business partners Mr. Xanatos you could handle all the finances of it all for me and invest it properly," Dash replied and then suggested he wasn't too good with his money like Aurora's father was since he was pretty rich already. He had given a thought to the theme though nothing too dark and broody that would bore or put people to sleep it need to be a little more lively really. "Yeah that's one of the biggest things I worry about really," Dash replied rubbing the back of his neck a little now. "I really appreciate your help with all of this it really means a lot me," Dash added now smiling and nodding at David now.

David nodded at what he said a lot of beginning business men thought it would be best to build a place of their own instead of buying an older property. he disagreed completely. If you bought and old place you would be taking on it's legacy which could be good for business. People may not come for what you're providing but they'll come because of the atmosphere or just to relive memories they once had here. Either way their money was good. "That's a smart move." He said simply before Dash brought up being his financial advisor and David shook his head. "no I can't do that allow Aurora to do it she has several degrees in business and when it comes to money her mind is almost as sharp as mine besides it'll be good for you two to tackle and endeavor such as this it'll bring the two for you closer together. Back when I was in Japan me and Reshira worked together in a small business selling her paintings. We didn't make much but it was enough to get two plane tickets back to the states." He said as he got out of his car at the real estate office. He walked in with Dash noticing and empty desk. "Excuse me my young friend was looking to purchase a property. Preferably an old theater." He said looking at Dash.
