Ivy weaved through people on the streets of Manhattan, earning a couple of angry shouts her way as she cut in front of someone. It was rather unlike her to do this, she was never really in a rush to be anywhere, but she was also never late to meetings of any kind either and today she was. Her mind had been elsewhere as of late, put there by a sweet talking vampire, and she hadn’t really been herself. So when she realized she had a lunch date with Cora scheduled for today she wasn’t at all ready for it. Her usual skin tight dress and heels were replaced by skinny jeans, a long sleeved black v-neck, and ballet flats‒her around the house wear‒and her make up wasn’t quite as dark and seductive either while her hair was lackluster. She hadn't felt like putting the time into it lately, but that was probably due to her lack of energy since she hadn’t fed in days. She was tired and that was evident. Hopefully, Cora wouldn't notice or bother to mention her lateness or her appearance because she wasn’t sure she was in the mood to talk about the cluster fuck her head has been since she met that vampire that put thoughts of love in her mind‒ thoughts that went against everything that she was but were charming nonetheless.
She pulled out her phone to check the time and realized that while lost in her thoughts of cursing that vampire that she had slowed down. If she didn’t pick up her pace soon she was going to be very late and there was no way in the world that she could beat Cora there or blame traffic for her lateness. “Shit!” she said loudly, earning looks from a mother that quickly shielded her child’s ears. Ivy rolled her eyes and scoffed at the woman and with that she was off again. Maybe she would have worn heels after all, she was faster in them after all, but soon enough she was barreling her way through the entrance of the café and looking around to see if her best friend had beaten her there.
