Family and Annoyances

Tessa's 45 year old mother, she's a woman that goes along with everything that her husband says. She wouldn't dare question him on things she feels he isn't right about, thought that is mostly due to her husband's abusive nature. The biggest would be the mistreatment of Tessa. She loved her daughter and was often proud of her for her accomplishments, but her husband was never proud after Jordan was born and she let his disappointment in Tessa push her into treating her the same way, even if she was never quite as mean as her husband was. She never suspected Tessa was planning on leaving, she packed up her things just took off and Emma was heartbroken she hadn't even said good bye. That was the last straw for Emma, but she wasn't sure exactly how to stand up to her husband. About a year ad a half after Tessa left, Jason was called to New York City to be a part of the Scarlet Council, so they moved. A few months after moving she was turned into a vampire, getting the courage to divorce Jason. She went with her sire for moral support, but Jason killed him, but still determined to be free of him, Emma pretty muched forced him to sign the divorce papers, then moved out. She remained in NYC and kept contact because of her son. She hasn't seen her in the seven years since Tessa left, and doesn't know she's in NYC.



Tessa's 48 year old father, he is not exactly the most warm and caring man. He's sexist, and was verbally, emotionally, and even physically abusive towards his wife, though he made sure no one knew. He never liked Tessa either look down on her for most of her life, even going so far as abusing her until Emma stepped in when she was still very young, Tessa has no memory of said abuse, and to this day only Emma and Jason know. As soon as her brother was walking and talking, she mattered even less. She was second best, always the last for everything in his book, a big disappointment despite all her efforts to try and impress him until she finally moved out at eighteen. Towards his son he is kinder, and more loving and incredibly proud of him, the total opposite of what Tessa is to him. He has always had ridiculously high standards for Tessa, that she could never reach no matter what because he wouldn't let her in his eyes, but Jordan could accomplish anything and could never be faulted, and if he failed it was a good effort and there was always next time. If Tessa failed, she was a massive disappointment and could never recover. Tessa ran off seven years ago, and a year and half later he moved the family to New York City to be a part of the Scarlet Council. Shortly Emma divorced him because she was upset over his treatment of Tessa, finally having the courage to stand up to him and she showed up with her vampire sire. He killed him and signed the papers when forced only because Jordan was around and he didn't want to cause too horrific a scene and attract his attention. He hasn't seen Tessa since she ran off and is still living in NYC unaware Tessa is as well. {for details on all Jason's wrong doings please PM me}


Tessa's twenty-two year old little brother. He is the darling favorite child in the Mercer family, and Tessa has always been put on the back burner for him. Their parents have always treated him better, given him things they wouldn't to Tessa. Rewarding him for accomplishments when they would do nothing for Tessa for similar feats, often putting her down. Growing up, he rarely got in trouble, if he ever did anything wrong, either he or their parents could find a way to blame Tessa, making her the culprit, or scolding her for letting him or teaching him the wrong doing. As a result, the pair and certainly not close, Tessa doesn't really like him, and he likely shares similar feelings, being arrogant due to his up bringing and seeing himself as superior to his big sister, even from a young age. When Tess was twelve and Jordan nine, he got a hold of the tool shed key and unlocked it even though they weren't allowed inside. Tessa tried to shop him and he pushed her in and she ended up with hedge cutting sheers in her right shoulder. He ran to mom and dad lying and telling them she went in and twisted the story so he wouldn't get into trouble. He is likely also stronger than her with his magic because Tessa ran away when she was eighteen, and he was fifteen. She didn't have and still doesn't have anyone to teach her while he had both parents to teach him. He is still in NYC after being moved there by his parents, though despite both siblings now living in NYC as well, they haven't seen each other since she ran off and neither knows they are both in New York. Also, shortly after Tessa left, his mother divorced her father because of his sister but he still sees her.
