Personality:
Power: Energy Manipulation (1st), Illusionist (2nd, Mastery)
Power Description: Magic is based on the four primary elements: fire, water, earth, and wind. Every Magi can utilize these elements to some degree, and some can control individual elements to a greater extent. Unique to Viktor is the ability to control the even more basic raw energy of all elements itself. With years of practice, he is able to utilize energy in any form to do practically whatever he wills. He can amplify his own control of the four elements; he can create pure energy from nothing; he can increases his physical attributes; and he can magnify and strengthens others’ abilities. The list of what he can accomplish is almost limitless, but of course it has its drawbacks (listed in Power Limits).
His second specialty is Illusions, and with hundreds of years of training and his Energy Manipulation to augment it, it is practically second nature. He is able to weave Illusions so convincing that it can lead to serious harm to others. He can cast such believable fantasies that even the strongest go insane. Like his first specialty, his potential is nearly limitless.
Power Limits: A major drawback of his Energy Manipulation is that his body is in constant flux due to it being nearly unable to contain the amount of energy he can contain in his body. It is a painful instability that is similar to his body being shredded to pieces, only to be put back together again. It has been a process that has been occurring since he was about six hundred years old, so it is almost an old pain that he is used to; however, it still can be detrimental. If he overexerts himself physically, he leaves himself very vulnerable. Often he can mask the pain, but Sophia knows the truth – and may one day exploit it.

[attr="class","appcontent2"]Beneath the façade of humanity lies a monster most fearsome…
There are many ways that many people would describe Viktor. A man of integrity and honour… A man of professionalism and respect… A man of kindness and humility… A good man… These people have not seen the beast that waits in the shadows, or the monster beneath the mask…
The charade in which he lives his life is one of justice and peace. A man of action for the betterment of all species… A man of wisdom and charity… A man of honesty and truth… By day, he is charitable and helpful to all who come to him. His charm is alluring and his words are honey. He is a suave businessman with a passion for philanthropy and altruism. A man almost too perfect to be true…
By night, the monster comes out… A bloodthirsty killer bred via abuse and torture, with a personal vendetta against the Vampires. His sights are not only set on Vampires, however. He is a predator that hunts other predators. Despite his own vicious methods, he hunts other fiends of the night, hoping to eradicate all evil until there is just him. He is methodical and calculating. Yet, his most deadly quality is his patience.
Becoming his friend or become his prey… Regardless, he will watch the world burn just to sate his own desires.

History:
[attr="class","appcontent2"]“He who fights with monsters might take care lest he thereby become a monster. And if you gaze for long into an abyss, the abyss gazes also into you.”
The Birth Of A Monster
The beginning was a blessed one: into the bright world entered the boy with brilliant blue eyes. Upon Viktor’s entry, he was basked in the shimmering faces of his father, William, and his mother, Isabella. Both whom were respected Magi of their time, and could instantly tell that their son would aspire to greatness… What they did not know was the suffering he would have to endure in his early years.
His childhood consisted of many happy memories. His parents were patient and kind, and allowed him to grow through experience, rather than being told what to do. At an unusually young age, he displayed extraordinary talent when it came to magic. With a helping hand, he quickly learned to control the energies within him to perform wondrous feats. He had an unusual aptitude for manipulating raw energy, which was something his parents had never seen before. They kept his abilities silent throughout the community, in fear that he would be exploited for his power.
Despite the joyous time they spent as a family, his parents knew there were dangers present in the world that they managed to protect their son from. They were realistic, however, and knew they could not defend him forever. The times were simple back then: kill or be killed. There was little order or justice, unlike today. One had to be prepared to guard themselves to stay alive. Thus, as he matured, his parents began to develop his powers both defensively, as well as offensively. Just as he did as a child, his progress was swift.
Years of training and travelling had passed, and he found himself to be eighteen. Along with his parents, Viktor explored the world. Typically, they avoided grand cities because they did not want to draw attention to themselves. They only entered if they were looking for information or visiting a unique sight. Not only did his parents teach him about magic and how to use it, but they also taught him history and science. More importantly, they taught him about the supernatural world. Tales of blood-drinkers and human-beasts were his bedtime stories. William and Isabella wanted their son to be informed so he would not be taken by surprise, if the time came.
Soon after his eighteenth birthday, Viktor grew ill, and the cause was unknown. His parents felt helpless as their only son fell into a deep coma. For months and months, his condition never changed. He was unresponsive and seemed to be in the pale clutch of death. Without any other solution, his parents turned to the dark to aid their son. They summoned a necromancer, in hopes he could fend off that seemed to cling to the edge of Viktor's bed.
What they could not foretell was the treachery of the Necromancer. Instead of trying to aid him, the Necromancer longed for the young, powerful soul inside Viktor's frail body. What the Necromancer had not prepared for was HOW strong Viktor's soul was in fact. As he began to perform a ritual to extract the soul for his own use, Viktor fought back against the dark grip. It was a tough fight for the both of them, as Viktor's parents watched in confusion.
At long last, Viktor awoke from his death-like state, and with his awakening came a grand explosion came forth. The explosion decimated an acre of land around him, including the life of the Necromancer, but more importantly... His parents. With no bodies to be found, Viktor was left alone to wander...
A Life Of Slavery
For hundreds of years, torn between that wanting to live forever and crushing guilt of his deeds, Viktor wandered the earth. As he wandered, he performed tasks here and there, making a name for himself as a man capable of anything. He grew legendary in repute, yet was not satisfied with life.
His power had reached the ears of a creature most ambitious and bloodthirsty... The Vampire, Markus - a coven leader, hoping to rise in status. He found Viktor one night, and proposed to him an idea most tempting... A life of servitude... Not necessarily a tempting offer to anyone unless that someone had no other purpose... Markus was a master of words and made the offer sound so much sweeter than it truly was. Ensnared by the idea of glory and purpose, Viktor conceded to the dark words of the Vampire, and his new life would begin...
Angelus Mortis
Under the dark wings of Markus, Viktor continued flourishing in his magical prowess. Considered Markus’ pet, he was never harmed by any other Vampire in the coven; however, he was preyed upon by Markus. Keeping him alive was Markus’ first priority; nevertheless, that did not stop him from occasionally indulging on Viktor’s blood. There would be times when Viktor was “lucky” enough to “enjoy” a taste of Markus’ blood. The black, vile liquid was revolting as it slid down his throat. It never felt easy as it was absorbed into his body.
Despite being human, he was considered an important part of the coven. His magic allowed them to accomplish tasks that would normally be more difficult when done alone. Over time, Viktor slowly felt more and more like one of them – a monster. Soon enough, he was not forced to commit any atrocities… Rather, he took pleasure in destroying life, which stood against everything his parents taught him.
Casting aside the role of a pet, Viktor quickly became the right-hand man to Markus. The enforcer. The hunter. The executioner. His talent for illusion was very useful in torture, and ultimately death. He could produce such a convincing deception of death in his victims mind, they would truly die outside of the illusion. There were other methods to kill supernaturals, however, Markus made sure he was well educated. As the coven’s secret weapon, he had to be prepared for everything.
Even though Viktor had fallen so far from the light and into darkness, there was still a young boy inside him that was clawing his way to the surface – in order to see the sun.
A Soul Torn
A little more than three centuries had passed since his service with Markus began. As a coven, they were becoming a major power. They remained small in numbers, but they were a fierce unit. They did not care about keeping their presence a secret, not from supernaturals and definitely not from humans. The humans knew a great deal about the Vampires and bloodthirsty drive. A fateful day came when the gloomy halls of the coven headquarters were brightened by a glowing face…
It started like any other day: the majority of the coven gathered in the main hall, with Markus sitting at the head of a large table and Viktor standing at his right side. What changed was when the doors to the hall opened, and Viktor’s heart stopped. Roughly pushed into the hall of death was a beautiful young woman garbed in modest clothes, yet still an image of magnificence. She glowed with innocence and bravery. Her eyes were strong and held purpose. Her eyes met his before she moved on to meet Markus’. In that instant, he was shattered. Years of shame and guilt fell upon him. He felt like collapsing under the weight of all his sins. He had to compose himself, regardless, as she began to spoke.
She called for peace, for mercy for her people. She was, without a doubt, courageous. Surrounded by death, and she remained steadfast as she gazed into the eyes of a heartless Vampire. To no surprise, her plea fell on deaf ears. Viktor had heard Markus’ speech countless times: “humans are merely cattle – nothing more than food.” Viktor being an exception. Every time he heard the speech, he was convinced that humans had no better destiny. However, his whole world seemed to change in the blink of an eye.
Before he knew it, Markus was calling out to him. An order for torture and then death – a painful one. As executioner, he had to perform the dreadful deed. But for the first time, he was not swayed by Markus’ powers of manipulation. Instead, he hesitated. A hesitation that Markus did not appreciate. Markus’ speed was extraordinary as he got up from his seat and then over to the woman before Viktor could blink. The scene almost played out in slow motion as Markus tore out the woman’s throat.
And… snap.
Something clicked in Viktor and he had enough. A great burst of devastating energy caught all the Vampires off-guard as it exploded from Viktor, demolishing the coven and its building. Decimated ruins was all that was left. Brittle bones that disintegrated upon touch from the lightest breeze was all that was left after his outburst. The only things his magic did not fully effect were the young woman, still bleeding out on the ground, and his master, who lay sprawled out – completely taken by surprise.
“Have I become the monster you wished for, master? Die knowing the kingdom you hoped for is gone. You will not be remembered. I will ensure your name and memory is forgotten – I promise.”
With those last venomous words to his former master, he decapitated the pathetic creature with a blast of energy, sending his ashes off into the wind.
He approached the woman and fell to his knees before her. Lifting her up, he cradled her on his lap. She looked up at him with those brilliant blue eyes, even at this moment, filled with courage. If only she knew the devastation she caused within him. She made him recall every sin he had every committed, and it began to destroy him. She soon passed from this world into the next, and he was left in the silence.
For the first time since he was a small boy, he cried.
He left everything he had ever known behind in the literal ruins he had created. He simply wandered… and wandered. Forgetting who he was. He left the world behind, and retreated to the darkest forest. In his seclusion, his soul began to repair. He went back to what he knew best: magic. For years, he trained in seclusion. He trained so next time, he could stop death from happening to those who did not deserve it. He was weak before, and now he must become strong.
Emerging from his isolation, he sought out others like himself – being of great power, specifically Magi. In his isolation, he concocted an idea of government for his fellow Magi - a beacon of power and strength for his people. He would go on to create The Scarlet Council from the ground up, until it was what he desired. His command over the Magi population was unquestioned. He created sanctuary for his species and was a foundation of strength for anyone in need.
Throughout his endeavors and journeys, he was not alone. Over time, he had befriended numerous allies. There were three others in particular, along with himself, who would become famous throughout the ages, and become known as “The Legendary Four.” Here are the stories of their beginnings.
Sophia, The Angel…
A wedding day like none other... Viktor heard rumour of a powerful priestess and seer that was being held captive by a terrible warlord, who intended to make a bride out of her. Knowing the life of servitude himself, Viktor would not let this cruel union come to pass. Besides, if the magi was as strong as the rumours claimed, she could be of great use to Viktor.
It did not take Viktor long to find the great fortress of the warlord. It was not a hard landmark to miss. Great black gates welcome him, alongside a harsh call asking his purpose at the fortress. Viktor was an honest enough man, and when he claimed he was here to rescue the bride-to-be, he was met with laughter. Nevertheless, a squad of soldiers emerged from the gate to bring him as entertainment for the warlord on his wedding day. They were certain their master would enjoy a sacrifice of blood on his wedding day.
Brought forth to the warlord's court in shackles, Viktor silenced the crowd when he spoke defiantly against such a terrifying warlord. When his head was ordered to be put on spike, well... Viktor was not ready to die today.
A great burst of energy shot out of him, and great tentacles of light formed. These appendages moved lithely and struck out at every living soul in the fortress, except the warlord and the seer. When touched by a great appendage, all life drained from the body and left bloodless corpses in their wake. Once the court had been silenced, Viktor surged energy through his hands and destroyed his manacles. The warlord was speechless and would remain so as Viktor moved closer to him. Placing a hand on the stunned man's head, Viktor would cause no explosion or great spectacle of blood. Instead, he left the man in a living nightmare using his illusions. The great warlord whose hands were soaked with blood was left to die of starvation and dehydration. He would received no glory in his demise.
Turning to the stunned woman beside him, Viktor could tell she was scared but, deep down, happy as well. He offered her his hand and a place at his side, as family. She took his hand, and their adventures together began.
Lucas, The Guardian…
In The Scarlet Council’s early days, there were many crises they had to deal with. Their fiercest challenge came from the Dragons. These beasts had become a burden to humanity, and needed to be dealt with… Yet Viktor had seen a use for them. He kept their species alive, but in check. Even without the power of precognition, he could tell their power would be useful one day.
One of his earliest companions was a Shifter who was unquestionably loyal to Viktor. When offered a chance to become a Dragon, Lucas, who had always dreamt of flying, was more than ecstatic to accept the offer. Drinking from a phial of Viktor’s and the Dragon Queen’s blood, the first of the Dragon Lords was born.
While Viktor, Sophia, and their third companion (Marissa), slept in stasis, Lucas would be the guardian who watched over them. He is one of Viktor’s most loyal companions, if not THE most loyal.
Marissa, The Dark One
Not all of Viktor’s companions were as “just” and “kind” as he was… Some were twisted and cruel. One of his most feared allies was his “little sister,” Marissa. An innocent looking girl… But she was almost, if not more, bloodthirsty than Viktor.
The last addition to Viktor’s close allies, known as his “family,” Marissa was a little girl they had found among the ruins of a village. She was covered in blood, and it was not her blood… Whether she had killed everyone in the village, or if it was marauders, remains unknown to this day. Nonetheless, she remains a loyal ally of Viktor’s and is the leader of the Inquisitors.
The Future
After establishing a strong foundation for The Scarlet Council, Viktor decided it was time his family took a step back from the world in order to let it thrive on its own. Sophia had also predicted a time in the future when their species, as well as humans, would need their help. It was decided they would be put into a stasis and be awoken when the time of need came. Creating a cave, which could not be found, Viktor laid next to his siblings and put them under a spell that reduced them to a coma like state. The cave in which they were hidden was protected with strong illusions woven by Viktor, and by the Dragon Lord, Lucas, who remained awake while the others slept.
It would remain like this for several centuries when a shifting of the world would disturb Viktor, allowing the spell to be broken. Upon revival, The Legendary Four found themselves in a world most different – filled with technology, old species taking part on the world theatre, but still the same desolate home for the Magi. There were the obvious enemies: Vampires and even Werewolves. But old monsters have arisen to take a major part in today's world, from biblical time: angels and demons - neither of which Viktor was a fan.
It was time to take action, yet in his sleep, Viktor had changed… Only time will tell if he will be this world’s savior or its destruction…
