Rudolf is the older brother of Macht Stärke. Macht yearned for freedom, and because he fought for it, his family was killed, with the exception of his brother and wife (this is unknown to Macht). Because Macht is a Deacon and Rudolf is a Lord, there is likely to be a vast disconnect between the two. On top of this, Rudolf blames Macht for the deaths of their parents and sister. Despite the hate he shares for his brother, Rudolf is a dutiful and honorable man. He protects his blood and those he swears fealty to, and does all he can within his power to protect Dragonkind.

Muriel is the wife of Macht Stärke. Like Rudolf, she lost everything when Macht fought for his freedom, and he believes her to be dead. Despite the fact that she remains fond of her husband, she refuses to face him after what happened, and has since risen in the Dragon ranks. Her position makes it difficult to reclaim what was lost over a hundred years ago, and part of her yearns to take up a position at his side again. She remains, however, torn between her fondness for her husband, and her order.
