Sav quickly patched her up and gave her his emergency snack: a sandwich and some orange juice. He gave her a firm order to eat and drink as much as she could and only left her when he was sure she would be okay. As he stood up, something caught his attention and he went for it. He was glad he did when he caught sight of the man covered in blood. He really didn't have much time to truly register it as he completely snapped. The one thing that could and would guarantee he absolutely lose it was any harm coming to Tess. Without even thinking about what he was doing, he grabbed the man as he attempted his escape.
He didn't even see the stranger. All he saw was his and Tessa's past. The past where their parents were less than kinda and generally enjoyed knocking them around whether verbally or physically. Savitar slammed the guy against the wall and threw punch after punch. He was even looking to kill the man. He just wanted to hurt him. He didn't normally lose his temper to this extent. It was rather out of character for him. At least, that's what the Sentella would think. Generally, he was calm and collected but he was fiercely and brutally loyal to Tessa and nothing made it out alive when one hair on her head was put out of place.

Tess was so happy when Sav showed up and started patching her up. She gave hi a light hug before she was handed the snack and ordered to eat. "Will do," she whispered leaning her back against the wall. She took a bite of the sandwich and grinned and started eating quietly, not wanting to spend anymore energy on talking. She took a few bites then drank some juice even when Sav moved away from her. She finished a bout three fourths of the sandwich and drained the entire bottle of orange juice. From there, she watched as Sav grabbed Nyk and started beating the shit out of him. Good. Nyk deserved it and she knew Sav would dish out a lot because of the condition. Not that she minded, she loved knowing Sav always had her back and would be there for her. She could always count on him.
This was a perfect example. She was badly injured and needed Sav to save her from being completely drained of blood. Well that wasn't completely true since Nyk had managed to detach himself and stop eating her. But of course she did still need Sav cause she was to weak to flee and she was still bleeding out and could have died from blood loss anyway if not one found her. She leaned her head back against the wall and closed her eyes feeling really tired and still not strong enough to really do much. She just wanted to sleep, but she fought that urge even with her eyes closed, afraid of not waking back up if she slept in her current condition.

He should have known he wasn't going to be getting away unscathed. In fact, before he even took one step away from them, he was roughly thrown up against the wall and a fist collided with his face, sending bright stars into his eyes. Lucky for this human, he'd just vomited all his strength onto the ground and was about as useful as a human himself. But the human didn't stop with one punch. No, there came a consecutive amount more to the point he felt as though his face was about to cave in. He supposed he deserved this. His human self felt satisfied at being punished but his vampire side was getting angrier and angrier with each punch. Finally, as he drew his arm back to hit him again, Nykolae moved, grabbing onto reserve strength and easily dodging out of the human's way, dropping himself onto the ground on all fours and swinging his leg out in the hopes to knock the human off of his feet. Already, he could feel his face swelling up and without any amount of human blood in his system, it was going to be a difficult recovery. That is, if he could get away and this human didn't manage to kill him first. If he could knock him to his feet, he might be able to feed from him for a few before the human fought back but that would be all he needed to get away.

Savitar knew the perils of losing your head in a fight. It was why he was usually so calm and calculating. When Tess was brought into the fray, he forgot that when he lost his head and let his emotions rule him, the battle was lost. Mistakes were easily made when judgement was clouded. That being in mind he actually tripped over his own feet and stumbled as he tried to catch his balance, giving Nyk the opening he needed. If he decided to take it at least, it could lay waste to Sav. That was saying something, because Savitar was among some of the best hunters in Sentella. He was human, however, and mistakes were still present in rare doses.

It was the moment he had been waiting for; his get out of jail free card. Even though Tessa's blood was still fresh in the air, tantalizing him like a drug, Nykolae's fear of this human and what he'd do to him was overpowering and, as he fell, Nykolae pounced, using the force of his weight and sitting on his chest. He grabbed the man's arm and sank his fangs into his veins, eyes flashing with a red ring as the fresh human blood touched his tongue. He didn't need much which was fine with him because he was sure, in the next three seconds, the man would realize what just happened and retaliate and Nykolae wanted to be long gone by that time. But his stomach had entirely emptied the night's contents onto the ground and he was parched. Fresh human blood was intoxicating, not near as much as hers had been but it still brought the blood madness. Drinking as fast as he could, he allowed his eyes to latch onto Tessa's, feeling a pull to take her instead but quickly resisted. A part of him dd feel guilty for tricking her like he had. She had been a very nice girl. And clearly, she had someone in her life that cared for her. And here he was taking advantage of him, too. Damn, being a vampire sucked sometimes, even if he was only half vampire.
As quick as he started, Nykolae finished, releasing his wrist and quickly standing up and taking a few steps back from him in case he decided to instantly retaliate. He felt the rush of strength returning to his limbs and he looked towards the mouth of the alley. Now would be his chance to make a run for it. With Tessa here and unable to walk, he doubted he'd be followed. He'd be hunted eventually but by that time, he'd have left New York far behind him.

Sav didn't expect to get bit so for moment he didn't react. The second he realized what was going on, it was over. Tessa's attacker pulled away and began to book it. He almost followed him, but then he remembered Tess. He couldn't leave her. Just like that, his anger died and was replaced with fear. She was awake and alert for the most part when he tended to her but depending on how much blood was taken that could change. He rushed over to her.
“Tessa?” he asked, kneeling down in front of her. “You okay?”

The wounded Magi watched the fight still incredibly worn out, but she wasn't about to let herself pass out. She couldn't risk the issues that passing out would bring both her and Sav. So she just quietly watched the skirmish, squeaking in horror when Sav lost the upper hand, genuinely terrified of what Nykolae was going to do to her best friend. But she couldn't move to do anything about it without hurting herself further, if she could even muster the strength to move from where she was slumped against the wall. As soon as Nyk sunk his fangs into Sav's arm she shrieked and panic was clear in her expression even as the vampire's eyes locked with hers. Her breath hitched in her fear and she remained frozen where she was. It wasn't until he pulled away from Sav that she reacted in an attempt to slow him down, using her magic. Though instead of an effective blast of wind and light breeze blew past for a moment before her head swam and she couldn't focus on anything.
'Tessa? You okay?'
Tess looked up at him, her vision a bit fuzzy. It took her a few seconds to register exactly what he said but once she did she nodded. "Yes," she started, happy her voice didn't sound like she felt. Really she did want to sleep now, regardless of the consequences of doing so. "I'm fine. It's all good." Unfortunately, she most certainly wasn't alright in the slightest. She had lost a lot of blood, between Nykolae draining her of quite a bit of blood and then bleeding afterwards. That paired wth her attempted magic use, she was done. Just after she declared that she was fine she slumped forwards into Sav her eyes fluttering closed, though she was still conscious she was teetering on the edge now.
