He grinned, happy to see how much energy Alex had managed to regain just from drinking blood. He, himself, felt like he could scale all the casinos in Vegas and scream from the tops of all of them. Who needed drugs or alcohol when there was blood? The sensation of literally feeling alive was the strongest high there ever was. When Alex turned towards him, clothes fitting perfectly, he grinned at her and held out his hand for her to take. He was ready to leave all this behind him. After all, the sirens were now only a stone's throw away.
The strip was still busy, despite the amount of police cars that pulled up along the curb. Resisting the urge to giggle like a little kid, Nykolae turned away from them and headed in the opposite direction of the ally, blending into the crowd. With all the confusion and commotion, no one take great notice of a cop meandering through the crowd. By the time they reached the very diner they had run out of earlier, the crowds had already flocked to the alley and their presence went unnoticed. Standing by a trash can, Nykolae gave one last look around and donned the officer's coat and utility belt, wearing only the black pants and white undershirt. The cop had been relatively smaller than Nykolae and wearing his shirt now, it made a good point of revealing every curve and hard line of his muscled chest. He pointed across the street to the bakery on the corner and smiled at her. "There's our destination. Let me just say, I haven't had this much fun in a long time. Hang out with me again and you won't be disappointed."

Alex followed Nyk, hand in hand, looking as if they were a cute couple out and about on the Strip, but that was far from the truth. In truth it served two purposes - to blend in with the crowd and to stick together - and it served them well. At the sound of sirens she couldn't help but look back as they pulled up just as they left the scene, like a scared child unable to keep their eyes off the bad guys. She was relieved to have Nyk with her, even if he was the reason she was in this mess to begin with. Alex wasn't the type to handle stressful situations very well and it was very well likely she would have suffered another attack if it wasn't for him by her side. When you just committed a crime for the first time, unless you were a trained operative, you have a tendency to over think things. Even though no one but you knows what you did, you always feel like every eye on you is a sign that they know too. In some cases paranoia can prove useful but in a case like this all it did was make you look suspicious. Apparently Nyk knew what he was doing when he stopped and began stripping. She took a moment to look at her own attire and suddenly feeling uncomfortable, out of place. The temptation to compel another female with a set of clothes closer to her style felt necessary and began scanning the streets for her suitor when Nyk's voice interrupted her self conscious mind. "You call almost getting killed, killing a cop, and stealing his clothes along with compelling an innocent girl to walk half naked around the Strip just to look like a mini Daisy Duke, is fun?" She paused and through her stoic face a smile broke free. "Yeah, that was pretty fun. Except the killing and shooting part. I really hope that isn't a frequent thing with you or else we might have a problem." She looked over at the doughnut shop to see the place empty, but still open for now. "How about after you buy me a doughnut, you can walk me home? Then you'll know where to find me when Kaia tries to rip you apart when she finds out what happened tonight."

He laughed as he leaned his back against the building, stuffing his hands into his pockets appearing like any other tourists watching the CSI-like scene unfold a few buildings down. "I don't normally kill anyone. Remember, we were attacked first. First rule of survival, do whatever you can to survive." He could still smell blood on him and was sure if there were any other supernaturals lurking around, they'd smell it too. When she asked him to walk her home, he turned to her. "Do you think I could shower first? I'm pretty sure Kaia would filet me alive if I came home smelling like I just bathed in blood." He yanked out the cop's wallet from his back pocket and opened it up, finding quite a bit of cash in the fold. He grinned and pocketed it before ditching the wallet in the trash can. Of course, what he told Alex was a lie. In fact, what they had just done was pretty much a day in the life of Nykolae. He was used to murder, running from the law and theft. It was how he'd managed to get through life. He'd tried the good life, being a good boy but no matter where he went, he was walked all over and he put that disgusting part of him out of his being forever. But Alex seemed too innocent and he didn't want to scare her away. He actually enjoyed her company, and that was rare for Nykolae to find a female he didn't use for sex or blood.
He made his way towards the doughnut shop as a few ambulances appeared on the scene. The pastry smell was easy to pick up since the fresh blood in his system opened his senses up to a level far above intense. He was surprised to find that he actually liked the smell and decided he'd try a doughnut. "What's a good kind of doughnut?" he asked peering through the large picture window at the shelves of brightly colored pastries.

She hesitated at the idea of him coming inside. It was Andrei’s house and with his hound-like senses he would be able to sniff him out right away. She hadn’t prepared for him to invite himself inside, not that it was for any intimate reason, she knew that, but she feared what Andrei would do to him if he was caught. By the time Andrei was finished with him it might as well have been a father catching his daughters midnight visitor in the act. At least that way there would be a valid reason for ripping the poor boy apart. ”Yeah, but you’ll have to be quick. I don’t know when Andrei will be home, if he isn’t already.” She said just in time to watch him pull out the wallet he had procured from the deceased cop. Even dead, something about taking money from a cop seemed wrong to Alex. But what was she to do? Silently she followed, her eyes speaking volumes of her paranoia that only his voice seemed to penetrate. ”Umm. Well my favorite has always been Bouvarian cream, but you might like raspberry filled.” Her eyes looked over at him with a hint of mischief, her lips curling into a smirk. ”Just like biting into the real thing.” She teased him about his bloodlust, and found herself surprised she could laugh about it. She nudged him with her elbow before stepping inside. It only took them a few minutes to get a donut and when realizing the time she decided to eat hers on the way home. She knew she would regret eating the donut later but damn was it good. By the time they made it to Andrei’s the morning sun was rising from behind the horizon, its rays breaking through hallow patches in the dark clouds. The driveway was empty but that wasn’t a guarantee his car wasn’t in the garage. When the approached the house she stopped. ”Let’s not go through the front door. Follow me.” She lead him around the back of the house and under a small balcony on the second floor. As if a natural she ran towards the corner of the house and leapt up the wall, and jumping off and up with a push to the balcony and grabbed hold of the railing. She hoisted herself up and opened the balcony door. She poked her head inside and remained still as she listened. Nothing. Good. ”Alright, it’s safe. Come up.” She called down before stepping inside and turning the light on, revealing a less than organized room cluttered with clothes, books, video game cases, and pieces of old computer parts laying in odd places. ”You can use my shower.” She said when she was sure he had joined her.
