"Miss. Miss....Miss!" With a jolt Alex raised her head off the drool covered pages of her school book and looked around. Beside her stood and elderly lady with an intense glare aimed straight at her, a clear sign she had fallen asleep close to closing time. Wishing to avoid her wrath she quickly apologized and just as quickly was out the door. It was Alex's first week back in school and thought this wasn't her first time in college it was however her first time as a vampire. In the beginning she was hesitant and in some ways still is. Alex had never been good with people to begin with and with her new, uncontrollable urges to add on top of it she had accepted her new fate. Her mother, as relentless as she was, demanded her daughter receive a proper education and to complete her credits; dead or not. Now thanks to her mothers wishes she now spends her Saturday nights studying at the school library and this Saturday was no exception. With the books she had marked with her drool in hand she struggled to tuck them into her bag as she made her way down the deserted campus street. She cursed the books as some were too bulky to fit them all in her bag and after a few minutes of fussing over it gave up and kept the remaining books in hand. As she clasped the strap to her bag the faint smell of blood hit her sensitive nose. Without warning panic set in. She wasn't prepared for surprises and most certainly didn't want to create any of her own. Her feet ceased to push her forward as she tried to assess the situation. At most Alex could sedate her hunger with the blood filled thermos in her bag but that was only a best case scenario and Alex didn't have the best luck. Her death was proof of that. Her eyes darted around to pinpoint the source but whoever was bleeding was most likely under the cover of darkness and by the strong distinction of human blood she knew it had to be close by.

Damn this heat! Kaia had decided to move back to Vegas soon after his enslavement so, of course, he'd been forced to come with her, willing or not. He'd left his whole life back in Chicago and hadn't even been allowed back to his apartment for any personal things. Not only had he literally uprooted his whole life, she'd brought him to a place that threatened to dry him up like a damn raisin! At least he'd gotten used to the frigid temperatures of Chicago after growing up in Italy but he felt like it had been easier to go from hot to cold than cold to hot. He wanted nothing more than to strip himself naked and lay around in a tub of ice. Being half human, he was still susceptible to dehydration and heat flashes. He didn't know if was the fact he literally had no connection to this city or if Kaia was testing him but she'd literally thrown him out of the house and into the streets of Vegas and told him not to touch anything. Really? Not to touch anything... That was like asking a dog not to lick it's own balls.... Vegas was like a dream world to Nykolae. Around every corner, elicit sex and gentleman's clubs, drugs and blood, and gambling. LOTS and lots of gambling. Why hadn't he thought to come to Vegas sooner?! It was easy for him to fall back into old habits as soon as he felt far enough away from her house. He was like a kid finally without a babysitter. His predatory instincts kicked in and he found himself finding his first prey. He hadn't drank fresh human blood since the night Kaia had him ripped from his own apartment. Sure, he'd had Kaia's blood, fresh from the vein, but it hadn't been human. He loved the way it made him feel; hyper-aware and powerful. He didn't even know how many blocks he walked till he found his first victim. What was even better, her blood had a hint of magi in it and he found himself drawn to her like a cat to fish.
She was easy to walk up to. Especially with his looks. He quickly deducted she was one of the University students and he also quickly realized she was almost too willing to hang out with him when she sent her friends on ahead. He felt like it was Christmas. He never got this lucky. Normally, he had to play his game awhile.
It wasn't long till they were in an unused classroom, door locked and the smell of blood filling the room. At first, she'd found their "naughtiness" a major turn on. She'd wrapped her legs around him, opened the buttons of her blouse and literally threw herself at him. It wasn't until they were half way through did the girl realize who she was really messing with. Sex aside, Nykolae hadn't eaten fresh human blood in a long time and he'd rather have that first. She didn't even notice what he was doing to her until blood started to run down her chest and she began to panic. Nykolae covered her mouth with his hand as she screamed, essentially muffling the sound from leaving the room. He was too in the moment to be stopped now. He knew if he kept going, she was going to die but he was just so fucking hungry. She writhed beneath him, attempting to get away but it was his sheer power that kept her in place. Damn Kaia and letting him starve... he didn't care if this was her city. He would kill what he had to, to survive.

A part of Alex had already given up. In the city of sin bloodshed was to be expected. Las Vegas had a long history of violence that had started with the human miners turned gangsters and with the switch of power going to the Vampires change was miniscule, if any. Alex was even one of them. The difference between her and the others however was she didn't embrace her new life. Drinking from the source was only a reminder of what she had become and the thought of it scared her. Pacifist by heart the young vampire just couldn't bring herself to hurt anyone without provocation; though that didn't mean it took a lot of effort to do so. The other part of her, the heroic side fueled by late night comic reading and countless hours of John Wayne movies, struggled with the side of her that just wanted to run in the other direction. The problem with that however was her conscious. Stupid humanity. There was no possible way Alex could sleep comfortably if she knew she had missed an opportunity to save a life. The feeling of having no hope, no chance of living through the night was an all too familiar feeling to the young girl and knowing that someone was possibly in that same situation right now was the driving force in turning the vampire around and pushing her towards the scent of blood. It wasn’t long until she was able to find the source. The scent was at its strongest in the science department, a place she was familiar with. Like a blood hound she followed the scent to one of the many doors situated along the hallway and when she reached it she attempted to open it. Locked. She was certain the smell was coming from the other side of the door, her senses could never lie to her. After a second attempt she assumed whoever was inside most certainly didn’t want to be interrupted. What a surprise they would get. ”Hello. Anyone in there?” she said, giving anyone inside a chance to respond. Then a thought occurred. Now that she had made her presence known whoever was inside now had a chance to escape. When there was no answer she took in a deep breath, broke off the handle to the door, and slowly crept it open.

Hello. Anyone in there? It was like a bell ringing through his exterior, bringing him conscience of what he was doing. The girl beneath him was shaking, her skin cold and her body weak. He still wasn't satisfied but he opted to let go of her and leaned up, keeping his hand over her mouth in case she still had fight left in her to scream. Just before he was about to call back, the door opened and he quickly wiped his mouth on his sleeve, heart pounding against his chest. Shit. He was too careless. Maybe this had been a test from Kaia already and he'd blown it out of the water. Dickhead one and two were coming to get him and drag him back to Queen Bee.
But when she walked through the doorway, looking thoroughly concerned and curious, he knew he'd found himself yet another easy victim and he grinned, red ring in his eyes seeming to glow with excitement. This was just his lucky day. "Um, excuse me but we're busy in-" That was when her scent finally found him, beneath the blanket smell of blood. Vampire. And not just any vampire, but a progeny of Andrei. Great. Exactly the person he wanted to deal with today, even if he wasn't there. Suddenly, he lost interest in everything he was doing and released the girl. As soon as she realized he'd let her go, she managed to scramble to her feet, and hurry out of the room, probably too shocked to really process what had happened to her.
"Look what you did. You scared her. We were really bonding just now." he told her, pulling some clothes back on to look at least a little more presentable.

When Alex stepped inside she was prepared to see a vampire feeding on a innocent human and she was right. However she wasn't expecting to see more of them than she wanted and was quick to turn around at the first sight of flesh. ”Oh god.” Her hand shot up to cover her face as it grew pink with embarrassment but as the human brushed by her on her way out the door Alex was consumed by a feeling not her own; fear. Her embarrassment quickly dissipated and was replaced with concern once again as she peeked out of the door then back to him. To her surprise there was once again the reason for her embarrassment, her nerves quickly taking hold at the sight of something she only saw in magazines, but with the sound of a door slamming in the distance it was just enough to snap her out of her daze. ”Did you seriously just bite and release? Did you even compel her?” she asked but didn’t wait for a reply as with lightning speed chased after the girl and was lucky enough to reach her before she left the building. Alex positioned herself in front of the girl and held her firm with both hands on her shoulders. The frightened woman didn’t have enough time to figure out what was going on before Alex pulled her into her spell. ”Stay still and quiet.” Alex raised her finger to her lips and pricked her finger with a fang as they slipped out. After applying her blood to the bite marks on her neck she licked the remaining blood off her finger while her body started the healing process. ”None of this happened. You got drunk, had fun with a cute guy willingly, called for a cab and passed out in your bed. Go home.” Alex compelled the woman before letting go. Filled with curiosity and irritation she stormed back towards the room she left him in and was surprised to see him still there, though this time she wasn't so shy. "I'm going to assume you're new so first rule of the city. If you're going to be a creep about your feeding habits then at least have the decency to make her forget and cover any trance of you on her up. You know...snatch and erase? The last thing we need is another raid on campus..." she trailed off, remembering a night spent in hiding when a human based hunting group decided to patrol the grounds on study night. She still was trying to shake that night off. And she'd never tell Andrei she was there either.

And just like, she was gone. He snorted. Even if he could, he wouldn't have glamoured. He liked when they ran away in terror. He too her small absence as a moment to collect himself. He found a small mirror, cleaned the blood from his face and put his hair back into a reasonable place. By the time she returned, like a bee when the hive was attacked, he was ready to face her, red ring gone and smirk on his face. "Actually, I don't really give a shit about this city or it's people. In fact, I'm looking to piss off the woman who rules this city. Tell me, how am I doing so far?" He crossed the room and came to stand rather close to her, leaning in close to her neck as he breathed in her scent. He frowned slightly. It was going to be hard to seduce her when she smelled like him but he'd dealt with worse. He pulled his face away, green eyes mischievous. "Since you scared away my prize, I'm assuming you'd like to take her place?" The red ring appeared in his eyes again as he reached a hand up and gently touched her cheek. "I can show you some things you'll never want to forget..." He wasn't expecting her to agree to him, let alone allow him to touch her but this was all part of his fun, no matter which way she decided to go.

Due to the fresh scent of human blood still in the air from the female who just escaped with her life Alex was unaware of the fact that he wasn’t a full vampire yet and treated him as if he was. ”In fact, I'm looking to piss off the woman who rules this city. Tell me, how am I doing so far?” She wasn’t impressed. Alex knew exactly the kind of person Gina was, though having never met her she had a pretty clear idea from the way vampires around the city talk about her, and not including the things she overhears from Andrei’s conversations. So for him to not care was either ignorance or bravery on his part. She was in the process of figuring out which when he started to move closer, and with each step he took the more she felt her body tense. She could feel his eyes burning her skin like fire, his blood scented breath heavy on her neck. The once insecure feeling was replaced with anger at his invasion of her personal space but when their eyes locked she was too frozen to feel anything at all. Damn those eyes. If the perfectly toned physic wasn’t enough he had to have gorgeous eyes to top it all off. Alex mentally cursed herself for her weaknesses of the opposite sex (or people in general) and inability to form words at the moment, and unfortunately that was all she could do while locked into his stare, unaware her cheeks were growing a shade of pink and darker by the second. Naturally all it took was the feeling of his extremely warm hand against her ice cold skin to snap her out of the constant daze she seemed to make a habit of slipping into lately these last few days, but even then it took her an extra second to realize what was happening when her mind was distracted by the warmth of his hand. In one swift movement she batted his hand away and in response to his red rings her face changed to match, though it dissipated just as quickly as it appeared. ”Don’t touch me.” she hissed, and took half of a step back. ”I’m no one’s prize.” Except for papa’s…. she thought. ”And I can guarantee you don’t want my blood.” Despite her every intention to leave for some unknown reason she found herself planted where she stood as if she was super glued. ”I’d say I was sorry for ruining your fun but unlike you I don’t lie. I would advise next time erase their experience of you with them from memory for good. You’d be doing them a favor.” she ended in a snappy comeback with a half smirk. Finally able to muster up the courage to move from her spot she bent down to pick up her bag and Engineering book she dropped before chasing after the woman and turned to step out.

He loved feeling powerful. He didn't even have to use his vampire skills to become dominant in a situation. All he had needed here was his own charming skills. Not that he'd given her his best. Just a piece. She was a vampire after all. No matter how hot she was, he wouldn't take her to bed. He despised vampires; males more so than females but Kaia was doing a very good job of making him hate them too. It was the matter of them being too less than human. They forgot their humanity, forgot how easy it was to hurt others and clearly forgot that they had experienced the most basic of human weaknesses; death. When she pulled away, angrily snapping her retort, he allowed her to, taking a few steps back as she bent to pick up her bag. "You're only saying that because you've never actually experienced me, before." he told her, leaning back casually on one of the tables, arms crossed over his chest. "I'm an experience you never want to forget."
Just as she made to leave, a group of students appeared and pushed their way into the room, chatting absently. They didn't even seem to notice the two standing there. Nykolae moved away from the table and grabbed her wrist, pulling her from the classroom with irritation. He didn't let her go until they had gone down the hall and around the corner. He looked around them, making sure they were alone before he put hands on either side of her head against the wall and caged her between his arms, eyes suddenly serious. "I will leave you alone, stop feeding from random people on campus and even leave as soon as we are done talking just as long as you don't tell Andrei what happened here today. Especially don't mention my name to him. Are we in agreement?" He kept his voice barely above a whisper, his eyes locked with hers, heart thudding in his chest. It was clearer than day, Andrei's scent on her, and after what he'd discovered about the vampire, he was pretty fucking close to Kaia. She had kept him on a strict diet of bottled blood and her blood since she'd enslaved him and, though she had let him wander the city today, probably would punish him if she found out what he did today. And he knew Andrei wouldn't have a problem reporting such an incident to Kaia with that infuriating smirk on his damn face. "Do we have a deal?" he growled, green eyes glaring.

Alex was content with her remark, feeling a wave of confidence build up as a result. She usually was never good at them but with this one she was quite proud of her grand exit. That was until a flurry of students blocked her path before she could leave the room, leaving the vampire flustered. It was just her luck that her one chance at making a smooth exit was ruined by a cluster of chattering teenagers just months shy of adulthood. They hadn’t even noticed her standing in their way whilst distracted by their gossip or brand new iPhones. Oh how she wished she could be as blissfully ignorant as them once again. Before she could get her barring she was once again taken by surprise as she was pulled out of the room and down the hallway by her wrist. She struggled to break free but his grip was too tight, and eventually she gave up. When her back hit the wall the force knocked what little air she had reserved in her lungs. This guy really had a problem with personal space and at the end of their conversation she would be sure to remind him of her limitations. ”Hey!” she exclaimed as he pinned her to the wall, her eyes darting left from right to look at his arms before returning her attention back to his eyes. Damn it. Not again. she thought as their eyes locked once more, yet this time his words were confusing enough to keep hold of her attention. How did he know Andrei, and better yet, why did he care if he knew about his presence here? She remained quiet until he was finished, her mind still processing what was going on while trying to keep her from becoming lost in his green eyes once more. His last comment followed by the intensity of his eyes made her hesitant but eventually snapped her back to the moment. ”Y-yeah….sure. No problem.” she said in a soft and hesitant voice, her face showing clear signs of confusion as she tried to figure out his reasoning behind the demands. ”Um….question though. What is your name….and what does Andrei have to do with any of this?” Her head tilted to the side in curiosity. ”Do you know him personally?” Alright, that was more than one question but his sudden change in behavior was growing suspicious and at this point Alex really didn’t know what to expect.

He sighed and finally straightened up, removing his arms so she was free to move away from him if she so desired. Of course the question would arise as to how he knew Andrei. He didn't suppose the vampire cared much about him to loosely throw his name around like he was. A group of students walked by, discussing in depth a lecture they'd just been a part of. Something geek Nykolae didn't understand. He sidestepped Alex and turned, leaning his back against the wall as he shoved his hands into his pockets. "Long story short, I own him a favor. Plus, he knows the person I'm staying with and she's probably not the greatest fan of me being outside." he frowned, realizing what he was saying probably made it sound as if he was in a domestic situation. As soon as the hallways cleared out and quieted down, Nykolae stood up from the wall and took a few steps away from her. "The name's Nykolae, but you can just call me Nyk. Nykolae is so old century anymore." his trademark smirk reappeared. "But I should probably get going. A promise is a promise, after all. See you around?" Not that he wanted to leave but he needed to ensure she wouldn't say anything to Andrei. Besides, he liked the way she reacted when he overpowered her. He wasn't ready to walk away from her yet.

The mentioning of another female left a small tinge feeling in her chest but she tried her best to suppress it. There were no real, hard feelings for him so her very brief moment of jealousy was unwarranted, so with a shake she brushed it off jealousy over the fact he had someone waiting at home for his return and not so much as him personally. “Yeah…..actually wait.” She pulled out her phone and looked at the time. ”Campus security are about to make their rounds. They like to go by faces and yours is unfamiliar, and I’m going to assume you’re not a student so you don’t have a pass. Stick with me until we get off campus and you’ll be left alone.” In truth she didn’t want to part ways. His presence fascinated her. If it wasn’t his charm that grabbed her attention it was the mentioning of Andrei being a part of his past, and as his progeny by default Alex was curious. She had hoped after a bit of talking she could coax him into telling her more but if not she was happy to just be able to talk to someone other than Andrei or Anya without making herself look like a fool. Her eyes darted around before leading him down the hallway, making a left before walking outside into the dry, warm air. She stiffened at the change of temperature, having preferred the cooler temperatures from the indoor air condition. Being Russian born the cold was her friend and anything else just made her uncomfortable. She took another look around for anyone in a uniform and at first the coast was clear. ”So, mind telling me what you did to owe him a favor?” she looked over at him, a curious thought coming to mind. ”You don’t look that old….” Then again neither will she in 500 or so years but at this point she was more curious as to how recent this ‘favor’ had been proclaimed.

Campus security? Great. Once more, he was no longer free. He made a mental note that if he were to ever get free of Kaia, he'd never take his freedom for granted again. He followed her as she led him towards, what he assumed, to be a safe route. She was right. He wasn't a student. In fact, Nykolae had never attended a school in his life. The nuns at the orphanage had taught him the basics of reading and writing and everything else he'd learned over the centuries. He'd only come on campus because the chick he'd found on the street had suggested they go back to her place, which had been in the dorms but he'd been impatient and had suggested the classroom instead. He honestly didn't even know if he'd be able to find his way off campus anyway. It was a calm, warm evening, and, just like Alex, much preferred the cold than this strange suffocating heat. He'd grown up in Italy as a child so had gotten used to the humid heat but then he moved to Chicago and got used to the ugly winters.
But the weather wasn't his or, apparently, her first concern. She looked around before turning her attention back to him and he found himself frowning. He supposed since she was showing him a bit of kindness, he could at least grant her an inside look into himself. "I've currently been, enslaved, you see. Long story short, Andrei saw me at my worst and decided to get me something to eat. Considering how controlling she's been on my intake lately, he really didn't have to. In fact, only moments before, he tried to kill me." A flashlight beam blinked on in front of them and Nykolae, with years of living on his own, acted on instinct and grabbed her wrist, yanking her after him, around the side of the building where he threw his back against the brick exterior wall and peeked around the corner towards the direction they'd come. Luckily, no one was coming after them. Either campus security had put on too much weight or he'd managed to disappear before the guard had seen anything. He let out a deep breath, not realizing he'd been holding it, unaware that she still hadn't figured out he was a hybrid. "Well, that was too damn close for comfort." He said with a smirk, turning mischievous eyes on her. He didn't know if he was ready to admit it yet but he was actually having fun. He didn't meet vampires his own age. Even if he had a couple hundred years on her, she was still closer to his age than others he'd come across. "Well, I'll give you a hint of my age." he told her. "There had been a King who had ruled over my village when I'd been born but Italy is still as beautiful as it was then."

She frowned. The very word made her cringe. The tinge in her chest from before now grew stronger and burned through her ribcage like fire though not with jealousy, but with rage. Her eye twitched as flashbacks of her own imprisonment surfaced. Her past flashed before her eyes, and as events were leading up to Andrei finding her and feeding her his blood just before she died of dehydration, malnutrition, several broken bones, and lack of blood when she felt her body being jolted in the opposite direction, the force nearly giving her whiplash. Luckily for her she was snapped out of her daze just before any serious damage was dealt but the sudden push in momentum and sharp turn around the corner was just enough to loosen the strap around her holstered pistol and allow it to slip from under her hoodie and slide onto the concrete ground in plain sight. With her back against the wall and her focus back on the present day she looked around in panic, trying to figure out what they were running from. She opened her mouth to ask when she saw a light reflect off of the iron bars of the bench and quickly understood. Several points of his statement were things Alex had expected from Andrei. It was him, in fact, who had saved her from enslavement also and after a year and a half of living with the immortal Yeti she was well aware of his violent tendencies as well. She could only assume he would do the same for someone else but never without reason. So what made him an exception? Especially when Nykolae claimed he was trying to kill him just moments before. Despite the small amount of information on this mysterious woman it wasn’t hard for Alex to figure out that anyone associated with Andrei was bad news yet that didn’t stop Alex from stepping into Andrei’s metaphorical shoes and deciding she would somehow help him as well, even if it meant her life because of it. "There had been a King who had ruled over my village when I'd been born but Italy is still as beautiful as it was then." The change in subject was enough to bring a smile to her face and eliminating the feeling her heart was about to explode out of her chest from the mini panic attack she was having. ”I’ve always wanted to go to Italy.” she managed to say before the security guard mentioned a pistol on the ground. With wide eyes she pushed off of the wall and stepped in front of him to peer around the corner, unaware their bodies were just inches from touching. Her hand reached behind her back and when she felt the loose strap she cursed. ”Shit. They found my pistol.” She moved back to her original spot beside him and growled in irritation.

He couldn't help but be distracted by her as she leaned across him to peek around the corner. He could smell her and was certainly not disappointed but because she was vampire, he didn't have the uncontrollable urge to grab her and sink his teeth into a vein. What also helped was the faint smell of Andrei. Who ever she was to him, she was certainly something special or he wouldn't be able to smell him on her and he wasn't looking forward to making the vampire mad. He'd already stabbed him once. Even if it had been gentle, it had been a stabbing nonetheless and he wasn't looking forward to what kind of stabbing he would receive if he actually pissed him off. So, it was in his best interest to ignored the typical male feelings that came with her body being so close to him and managed to focus himself as she returned to his side with a sigh, giving him room to breath again. Pistol?
He swung around to peek around the corner, spotting the weapon laying not far off. The fat security guard who probably thought he was a police officer, was bending down and examining the gun with the butt of his pen as he spoke into the walkie attached to his shoulder. "Yeah, this is Glenn. I'm patrolling outside the science building and I've spotted a weapon. Heard someone run off not too long ago and I'm requesting back up in case something happens." There was static on the walkie and then a faint voice answered as he security guard stood, shining his flash light around the area.
Nykolae ducked back behind the wall just as the flashlight beam grazed over their corner, missing him by a hair. Guns had been a new thing when he'd been born. Totally unreliable things that only killed people by accident, not on purpose. Their aim was so awful that they were only ever used by the military or pirates. It wasn't until recently that Nykolae realized he'd had an affinity for them. He'd had a bunch of military friends a while back who had thought, one Saturday night at a party, that it would be fun to hold a competition to see who could tear down and put back together, a Glock 18 the fastest. Of course, they immediately put Nykolae first, knowing full well he wasn't part of the military and had no chance of beating their Sergeant. In fact, Nykolae blew them all away; tearing down and putting back together the gun in less than fifteen seconds. For a more dramatic effect, he'd even managed to load it, pull the slide back and aim at his friend before taking the blind fold off. Impressed, they snuck him onto base and handed him hundreds of different kinds of guns, some he'd never even heard of before. Flawless, each time. The real magic happened when they took him to the firing range. He had too much fun writing their names on targets with bullet holes. All he had to do was touch a weapon and he knew everything about it, whether the sights were off, whether it shot to the left or right and how to take them apart exactly to put them back together in less than half the time to take it apart. When he tried to explain this particular skill, his military friends wrote him off as a liar and refused to talk to him. But that didn't stop him with his fascination with his new affinity. He dabbled in weaponry, getting his hands on all the ones he could, just for the learning benefit. It almost sort of made him obsessed. So obsessed, in fact, he felt the need to get her pistol for her.
"Wait here!" he hissed and before she could try and stop him, he left the comfort of the corner and made his way towards the weapon. The guard was busy scanning the other side of the building with his flashlight beam to notice. However, it wasn't until he'd bent to retrieve it, did the security guard get an itch and he turned, spotting Nykolae holding the gun. There was a five second pause in which they both stared at each other before the security guard reached for his gun and Nykolae moved. But he didn't move to run away. Instead, he met the security guard half way, snatching the gun barrel with his free hand and breaking it down to it's pieces faster than the eye could see, leaving the guard with nothing more than a handle of plastic. Nykolae smirked at him, giving him a half salute with his fingers before running back towards the direction of Alex, unable to rid himself of his humored smirk. He loved how befuddled he could make human minds. The security guard was going to try and figure that one out for the rest of his life.
With a laugh, Nykolae threw himself back against the wall around the corner and handed Alex her gun, his eyes dancing with excitement. "Here ya go." he said. "That fat ass never knew what hit him!"

Her eyes closed and a groan emanated from her lips at the mention of back up. Great, just what she needed. It was hard enough getting one in the first place and now she had to worry about explaining to her sister why she lost it. The gun wasn't just any gun, but a gift when she finally learned control of her urges so it had sentimental value. It even had an engraving on it from her sister. Alex's passion for weapons was well known in the family and was something Alex received from her father. Now that he was gone it was the only thing she had left to remember him by, not having most of his possessions due to their financial struggles before moving to America. As much as she wanted to retrieve it her fear of getting caught weighed heavier and without pause had accepted her losses when Nyk fled from her side and towards the gun. "Wait! No!" she whispered as loud as she could, genuinely worried he might get caught. Within the first few seconds however Alex had hope. Hope that would soon by crushed when the security guard took notice. Her fear of Nykolae's safety quickly switched towards the guard when Nykolae was not so shy about his capture. Alex began to wonder if Nykolae would, as most vampires do, take the drastic route and snap his neck or break a bone or two but when he performed his little trick to the bewildered human she had to admit, it was impressive…and kind of hot. Her mind was still reeling from not only how he handled the gun but the human when he returned with her gun in hand. ”Wow. Th-thanks.” she said dumbfounded, taking the gun and checked it before slipping it back into his holster behind her back. ”You have got to teach me that when we get out of here.” she smiled as her eyes met his only to look away and at the security guard one last time before walking in the opposite direction. ”By the way, I’m Alex.”
