David walked into the Zoo he was both nervous and excited he kind of felt like a kid being called to the principal's office. After all he was here under the Chancellor's orders after all. Meredith Wells he'd seen her in passing, but never spoken with her personally. She was the High Priest's right hand woman while he was gone she virtually ran the council, but now that the High priest was back she was the second seat. He walked into the zoo noticing the shifters in every exhibit as he headed towards the bat cave. he couldn't help. but snicker a little/. Here he was a billionaire using a secret entrance in a bat cave of all places. "Somebody better call Bruce Wayne I think I'm stealing his shtick." Of course he could have just used his magic to get into the council, but he much preferred this way the irony of the situation was too good to pass up. David looked at the hidden entrance before taking a deep breath and making several hand signs. This had been the reason he'd traveled to Japan the Japanese mastery of hand signs was incredible and he'd endeavored to be trained in the art as well speeding up his hand sign movements. He opened his eyes dark specks flowing through his iris as he completed the spell. The wall erupted cracking in two as the wall spread open revealing a staircase. He walked in the door sliding close behind him as the braziers on the wall lit up as he past them. He made his way down the staircase and into the inner sanctum. It seemed he had arrived before hand and endeavored to wait as he headed towards the library. He'd been thinking about his second attribute and had decided on weapon smithing, so he wanted to brush up on the art while he waited for Meredith to show.

Meredith sat at her desk, her brown eyes studying the words and images on the paper in front of her. As a Chancellor it was her job to oversee the entire country, but lately her attention was focused on the city of sin she had called home. Though Meredith still had responsibilities in New York, she felt torn between her duties as a Chancellor here and her personal vendetta in Vegas. Regardless it was mandatory she meet with the ArchMagi's to be updated on current events in their designated state and when she was informed of David’s arrival she closed her folder and headed towards the library.
She walked through the large oak doors and into the spacious library. The library was so big and so ornate it made the Library of Congress look like a school library. The difference between the two however was the content held within the leather bound pages. Mary had always found solace in the room compared to the others but unfortunately never got the time to fully enjoy it. ”Mr. Xanatos. I’m sorry to keep you waiting.” she said with a genuine smile as she approached the ArchMagi and held her hand out for a quick shake. ”A pleasure, as always. How are the wife and daughter?” Normally she didn’t start with pleasantries when it came to business but she respected the man and felt best to start off their meeting with some sentiment.
Sorry to keep you waiting @david

David looked up from the book on weapon smithing he'd been reading taking off his reading glasses and storing them in his breast pocket. "No worries Chancellor it's not everyday one is called to be in you presence." He said giving a firm shake to her hand before looking around the library. "I must say every time I come here it never ceases to amaze me all the knowledge that's amassed here. If there was ever a reason to become immortal I'm sure I could find it here." He said following her and then nodded. "Oh they're fine my daughter is getting married soon, not sure how I feel about that, but you know the more I resist the more she will dig her heels in." He said rubbing the bridge of his nose. "Oh and then Reshira and I are going to have another child soon." He said rubbing his beard with bride. "And how are things in Las Vegas I hope the vampires are behaving themselves. I don't know about you, but that Gina Pryor makes me uneasy." He said as he shelved the book he'd once been reading. "So how can I help you today Ms. Chancellor as Arch magi of New York my services are at your disposal." he said with a slight bow

Her eyes lit up at the news of a several additions to the family, delighted at the wonderful news. She had always respected the man and admired his deep love for his family. Though Meredith didn't have a child of her own Lorna had almost replaced that title of daughter when her father, Mary's brother, and the mother of Lorna decided to leave the poor girl in Mary's hands alone. She nodded in response. "Congratulations! I'm so happy for you both. You'll have to send my regards to Reshira and to your daughter and her new groom as well." She listened intently as he commented on Las Vegas and its Vampire "Queen", as you would call it. Mary fought back a cringe from the mere thought of the vile creatures and instead was replaced with a small twitch of her upper lip. "Yes...she does have a certain air about her that makes me think shes up to something. My reasoning for spending most of my time there actually." she trailed off but quickly snapped back from her moment of distraction. "Right. I actually wanted to talk to you about that. Have you heard anything about a new pack coming in within the last few months? I've been hearing whispers of a new wolf trying to ring in pack members but no one has anything substantial so far. I was wondering if you had any information about this?"

"Well I was hoping you could do so yourself I had planned to invite you to the wedding I'm sure Aurora won't mind." He said smiling. He knew his daughter he could invite an army of total strangers and his daughter would be happy more eyes to look upon her amazing beauty and grace. "Besides having the Chancellor appear at my daughter's wedding is the next best thing to having the Head Priest to appear." He said as he noticed her instant distaste for the woman, which was understandable vampires were a threat to almost every species. for such a young race they'd multiplied like rabbits on Viagra. This was the perfect time to show how useful he could be and it would probably be the first time he'd ever admit it was a good thing to have Dash around. "Well Chancellor if I may be so bold my son-in-law to be is a Dark Djinn who frequents Las Vegas quite often if it would help you in anyway I might be able to persuade him to lend you a hand whenever you're in Vegas he also tells me that he has a werewolf friend there as well." David rubbed his chin at what she said. "Yes I have apparently they're like werewolf royalty they've been causing quite a stir crushing any resistance to their rule, but on the bright side they seem to have a good handle on their community the rate of werewolf attacks have dropped considerably, but it still makes me feel uneasy. After all with that kind of power what could they be planning?" He asked thinking about the fights that would break. "Still thought I think it might be best to let them be for the moment they only seem to be interested in controlling their own kind for the moment" He sighed. "Though it couldn't hurt to have a few Watchers to keep an eye on them" He said looking at Meredith. "Is there anything else you would like to call to attention? I've cleared the whole day for anything that needs to be done."

A wedding. Meredith had always loved weddings, despite never having been married herself. It had seemed that Meredith was forever doomed to the bridesmaid status but she didn't mind. She didn't like to be tied down and so far has yet to meet a man able to handle her ferocity. In a lot of cases she has been viewed as unapproachable, scary even but she would merely pass this off as her ability to get things done. The mention of a Dark Djinn however snapped her attention back to David with intrigue. Dark Djinn? Weren't they extinct? As a Magi (and regrettably a human) she was naturally inquisitive and made a mental note to keep an eye out for this genie when she returned to Vegas.
It was comforting to her that David was aware of the werewolf situation and expressed the same concerns as she did. It was only natural for the Council to fixate their attention on the wolf pack, especially with the possible threat being so close to home. She nodded her head in agreement. "Yes. That would be wise. They may seem compliant now but that could easily be a front for a much sinister plan. I wouldn't trust them as far as I could throw them with my bare hands." She paused as her thoughts shifted to one of his previous statements. "I hope I'm not being rude or intrusive, but you said your future son-in-law was a Djinn, correct? I've always believed them to be extinct. Mind divulging me in a few details about the nature of his being? I'm actually quite curious considering they're so hard to come by."

David gave a chuckle at that the image of her throwing a werewolf any distance was laughable but he saw her point. Werewolves were not to be trifled with in the slightest Vampires were cunning and thoughtful of their moves, but Werewolves possessed the raw power of the animal kingdom at their disposal it was a rather shocking sight to see a werewolf tear someone to pieces. He'd never seen it himself after all the earlier parts of his life were spent in a silver mine no way was a Werewolf going to set foot within a hundred miles of it. This was also another reason he wanted to learn weapon smithing. He saw a light go on in the chancellor's mind and knew the reason much like him she loved to learn and the prospect of learning that a supposed extinct species was still alive was something she couldn't resist. "Not at all Chancellor his name is Dash Storm. He was the reason for my daughter's sudden "departure" from school a while back." He said giving a cough. "he suddenly returned saying that he had been transformed into a Genie back in world war two by a female Djinn he had rescued." David said rubbing his beard. "As far as I can tell he's purely magical the most complex spells for us seem to be mere child's play for him. Teleportation is his main mode of transport even great distances. I'm told he teleports from here to Las Vegas on a daily basis." David rubbed his chin. "I haven't had a chance to test the upper limits of his magical strength. What with the wedding and all." David tried to think of what he saw and heard from Dash on their last outing. "Apparently he's immortal much like a vampire though I don't know how that immortality works aside from what the books have told me." he said looking apologetic. "I'm sorry I don't have much else to offer, but seeing as soon he'll be my son in law I'm sure there will be plenty of opportunities for that."

So the genie wasn't born as such, but was cursed. Interesting. There were tales of humans being tricked into taking the place of their genie but like most things concerning the rare species she thought it was as real as fairy tales. She couldn't help but feel sorry for the guy, but her sympathy only went so far. To her he was more valuable than anything and though she wouldn't out right tell David, plans of putting Dash to use was already forming in her head. But not until after the wedding and honeymoon, of course.
"No, no. Of course. I understand. Thank you for what information you could give me. It was very informative." She paused, suddenly remembering the book of weapon-smithing he was reading when she had arrive. "I noticed you have been taking up a second ability. Weapon-smithing is a very noble specialty. If you have some extra time to spare, maybe you could show me what you can do with it? I'm very curious to see it in person."

He knew that look he wore it often when meeting with perspective clients of his business it was the look of someone weighing scales in their mind. He wouldn't call her on it but he knew she was making plans that involved Dash. he looked up at the mention of his hobby. "Ah yes can't be too careful these days and well I can manipulate technology to suit me , but it takes time and a bit of effort whereas weapon smithing can be a tad more simple and direct." He said before nodding. "Umm of course bear with me now this would be my first attempt I've only been reading up on the art until recently." He looked around and noticed a sword hanging on the wall of course it hadn't seen any use in years so it was perfect. He took out a pen from his pocket scribbling runes onto the blade before chanting a few words imbued with power the symbols on the sword glowed briefly before fading. "Alright you might want to stand back." He said as he grabbed the sword and flowed power into it the blade turned red hot so much so it began to melt. David immediately let go of the sword watching the metal cool forever ever warped and useless. "I can pay for that I promise." he said before scratching the back of his head. "I meant for the sword to become fire I must have written something wrong." He said wondering what he could have did wrong.
